The same characters wander in and out of this one just as they did in the first two books giving the story a feeling of coming home and meeting old friends. Liam and Jack were adorable. I have read some reviews that believe they came together a bit too quick...but they both knew what they felt and waht they wanted and needed. Jack was still grieving for his grandfather who had been such a huge part of his life and Liam listened and encouraged Jack to remember his grandfather every single day. When going through his grandfather's things, Jack found a picture and a journal from 1944 that told a story of a love that was forbidden in that time, between his grandfather and a man that served in the army with him. Jack and Liam's search for the man leads them to Vermont to a nursing home and an elderly patient with advanced Alsheimer's. This part of the story is a real heartbreaker, but it shows just what kind of a man Jack was and reenforced the fact for Liam that he could always trust Jack with his heart. It's a magnificent, heartwarming part of, and a perfect ending to this 3- books series. Adding to the wonderfulness of the story was the deep, warm, beautiful voice of Connor Brown. If you haven't ever listened to Connor Browns beautiful voice...you will be in for a real treat! I would recommend anything that he reads.

In assoluto il più bello della serie, almeno finora. Lo struggimento per la storia d'amore secondaria è incredibile. E lo sappiamo tutti che sono solo libri, che sono parole e fatti romanzati, ma mentre leggevo di Jack, che leggeva le memorie di suo nonno durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, e del suo amore perduto, dentro di me pensavo: qualcuno ha davvero vissuto questo. A qualcuno è stato impedito di amare la propria anima gemella, qualcuno ha pianto un amore finito non per volontà delle parti, ma per volontà altrui e l'ha portato nel cuore fino alle fine.

I liked this one at the beginning but it started to get really cheesy and unrealistic towards the end. It's like the story was in fast-forward motion and we were getting short snippets of what was happening, but not any of the details. It really felt like this should've been a novella with a 100 pages or so knocked off.
I really struggled with the 'I love you's' in this one. Jack hasn't even told Liam he LIKES him but yet announces to his family he's in love, lol. I knew it was going to go downhill for me. Same with Liam. He just knew he loved Jack from the very first day he saw him. I just can't with this. I need some sort of connection. Thankfully, I've read the first two books, so I know these two spent years staring at each other, but if someone just picked this book up without having read those first two books, they wouldn't have a clue.

In questo libro abbiamo due storie parallele, seppur intrecciate tra loro. Abbiamo quella di Jack e Liam ambientata ai giorni nostri; e quella del nonno di Jack ambientata invece durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Senza nulla togliere alla principale, la seconda mi ha tenuta con il fiato sospeso. È straziante, struggente; ti lascia addosso una sensazione di malinconia e di tristezza, ma allo stesso tempo ti fa capire quanto grande possa essere un amore. L'amore, quello con la A maiuscola, non conosce confini, né tempo, né spazio ed è resistente, quasi immortale.

Devo essere sincera e dirvi che aspettavo l’uscita di questo libro da un bel po’ di tempo, perché questi due personaggi promettevano fuoco e fiamme fin dal secondo libro della serie. Sappiate, però, che qualora voleste leggerlo senza aver letto i libri precedenti, la storia di Liam e Jack è stata costruita così bene che non si ha assolutamente la percezione di essersi persi qualcosa del loro rapporto. Inoltre, l’escamotage usato per fare avvicinare i nostri due beniamini va al di là dell’attrazione che ognuno dei due prova per l’altro, fin dal primo momento in cui si sono conosciuti. Dovrà intervenire un evento triste e doloroso affinché entrambi trovino il coraggio di aprire il loro cuore sia nei confronti dell’altro che al resto del mondo.
Liam Connelly è un giovane uomo arrivato in città quasi due anni prima, alla ricerca di un fratello di cui, fino a quel momento, aveva ignorato l’esistenza. Ci ha messo poco a scoprire dove trovarlo, le informazioni che ha ricevuto da un padre assente per tutta la sua vita, sono state precise. Ma la paura di essere rifiutato gli ha impedito di rivelare il suo segreto e ora, quel segreto, lo sta mangiando vivo perché è consapevole che il momento della verità è sempre più vicino e il rifiuto potrebbe solo inasprirsi. La luce di quegli occhi lo tormenta, gli fa torcere le viscere e fa battere quel cuore che pensava ormai assopito. Combattuto tra la paura di confessare alla famiglia di essere innamorato di un suo simile sarà aiutato, ancora una volta dal suo Big Jack che, ormai, passato a miglior vita ha deciso di lasciargli in eredità il suo più grande segreto.
Ecco, è a questo punto che il lettore si trova coinvolto in ben due storie d’amore, quella del presente tra Jack e Liam, piena di fuoco e di prime volte e, quella del passato tra Big Jack e Jeremiah. Due uomini che hanno vissuto in un periodo diverso, e che daranno a Liam e Jack la possibilità che attendevano da sempre.
Non aggiungo altro, sappiate solo che l’autrice ha saputo dare a questa coppia l’intensità che meritavano e il giusto approfondimento psicologico. La lotta di Jack contro il DSTP e il modo in cui ha cambiato e capovolto la sua vita, viene trattata con realismo e soprattutto viene vissuta dal protagonista non come se fosse una vergogna, come, invece, fanno moltissimi veterani ma, come una vera malattia contro cui lottare giorno dopo giorno. La presenza e la premura del cane Charlie nei confronti del suo amato padrone, mi ha più volte commossa durante la lettura, a riprova del fatto che il cuore degli animali è sempre più grande di quello di qualsiasi essere umano. Ho amato la dolcezza di Jack nei confronti del suo Liam. Lui, il Dragone, di tante battaglie, l’alfa per eccellenza, pur essendo molto protettivo nei confronti di Liam è anche di una tenerezza incredibile. Il loro è davvero un sentimento unico, Jack vorrebbe proteggerlo da tutto e tutti, anche da se stesso perché Liam ha già sofferto molto per amore nel suo passato, e ora è intenzionato a ricevere solo il rispetto che merita, in una relazione. Non vuole più essere il segreto di nessuno. E sarà proprio questo che spingerà Jack a fare delle scelte importanti perché solo arrendendosi all’amore e mettendo da parte le paure si può vivere una vita degna di essere vissuta. Insomma, ancora una bella storia, ma non mi meraviglia, l’autrice ci ha abituate a storie che coinvolgono il lettore a tutto tondo. E questo è sicuramente, fino ad ora, il libro più delicato della serie. Quel sottile velo di malinconia che lo pervade non ha fatto altro che farmi innamorare ancora di più non solo dei protagonisti principali ma anche e, soprattutto della coppia secondaria, ma anche di tutti gli altri personaggi dei libri precedenti che sono stata felice di rivedere e scoprirne le ulteriori evoluzioni. Se cercate un libro che parli al vostro cuore, sussurrandogli solo parole tenere, ma avete bisogno anche di un po’ di ginnastica da camera e di sognare dei tempi andati, senza mettere da parte una sana risata, questo è un libro che non potete assolutamente perdervi.

Sweetest read ever!
I couldn't wait for Jack and Liam's book. In book 2 we learned that Jack was this huge biker looking, bald headed guy that was a veteran that suffered from PTSD and had a sweet dog named Charlie who helped him cope with his issues. Jack is a bar owner. His employees love working for him because the guy is just a sweet guy. He takes are of his people. Along comes Liam, this blond sexy little sarcastic guy that fits right in. From the minute Jack laid eyes on Liam in the interview he was captivated. Liam came to town for a specific reason though. He has a secret but can't seen to figure out the right time to share this secret. Their love story is a journey filled with tears, and hot sex, but sweet romance.
I really expected Jack to be portrayed as this tough possessive alpha male type of person, which to some extent he is but he is mostly a very gentle soul with a big heart. The author introduces us to a very important character that is Jack's name sake who has past on, but was very influential in his life. Big Jack, his grandfather, leaves behind some letters for Jack in his will. In these letters Jack discovers a huge secret that his grandfather never told anyone and now only he knows. Well, Jack has a secret of his own. We get a glimpse of Jack's struggle with the illness of PTSD, and how it has affected his overall life. This illness is so devastating and so many suffer from it in silence and shame I appreciated how it was portrayed. Good job!

Alright lets get through the bad so we can get to the good of the book. This is probably personal taste but this book was super cheesy. I think that is just the author's style though. There were some very obvious cliché's and just an overall sappiness that sort of took over in some parts. That being said the secondary storyline in the book steals the show. Its a coming out story for Jack as well as his grandfather who's death catapults Jack into following his heart. That part of the story really made the book successful for me. It was heartfelt, beautiful, and eye-opening. It is worth the read for the back story alone. There are some worthwhile moments in the main romance as well and some great sexy times scenes. Good book.

This is a hard book to rate. It started really strong and then went downhill with cliches, troupes, and some cheesiness. I think the secondary story stole and saved the book for me. Plus, the dual first person POV felt detached most of the time. The characters are adorable and they worked well together. Some of their interaction were great and the Christmas bits are perfect to get into the holiday spirit.
Surrender Your Heart works as part of the series and setting up the next book. I'm really looking forward to Miller's and JJ's story.

Sappy and syrupy sweet like molasses; the blip of drama in the second half was random and unnecessary.
There was also too much telling and summarizing, and a few grammatical issues (using the apostrophe to form a plural is the one I noticed most).
But I couldn't fault the romance and steam. Closer to 2.75 rounded up.

Bellissimo, in alcuni punti straziante perché ti costringe a pensare a quanta ingiustizia ci sia stata in passato, a quanto abbiano sofferto molti uomini e molte donne solo per chi amavano. L'autrice ha usato però tanta delicatezza e questo ha fatto la differenza nel non renderlo troppo drammatico. La storia tra i due protagonisti invece è molto dolce. Davvero un ottimo libro

Absolutely loved this! I especially connected with Jack's journey into his beloved, late grandfather's secret memoirs of being a WW2 war hero...and gay at a time it wasn't accepted. Jack's romance with Liam is sweetly awesome, but I hung on to every word as Jack truly discovered his grandfather. I cried multiple times while reading this. Definitely 5+stars!

Jack Murphy has been interested in Liam Connelly ever since he interviewed the younger man to work at his bar and the attraction is reciprocated, however, Jack isn't out and Liam has been burned before by a closeted man, so Jack will have to make a decision soon or risk losing the best thing that ever happened to him.
I loved this story! There were so many plotlines running along with Jack and Liam's romance, but rather than detract attention from it, they just showcased the depth of their feelings. I particularly adored Big Jack's (Jack's grandfather) story and reading how he fell in love with a fellow soldier while they were both serving during WWII and have it come full circle with Jack and Liam finding Jeremiah, who the love of Big Jack's life. (Spoiler Alert: Please mark the blank space with your mouse or copy/paste on your phone if you want to read it. Proceed at your own risk!) While I found it odd that Big Jack didn't tell Jack anything until he died and only through a letter and the journals he left him, I loved that it was those that gave Jack the courage to finally do something about his attraction to Liam. Another storyline I enjoyed was the PTSD Jack suffered and how he coped with it, it was done in a very informative and sensitive manner.
I loved Jack and Liam together, even if they both had doubts with some of the things they perceived could hurt their relationship, they talked it through and emerged even stronger after every issue they faced. They had chemistry and fit in each other's lives amazingly.
While Surrender Your Heart could be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the two previous books first. There's an ongoing secondary storyline with the rest of the Fated Heart Series family that I promise you won't want to miss! I loved catching up with Gram and Lenny and the rest of the gang and I'm eager to start with JJ and Miller's story, since Aimee Nicole Walker has been teasing us enough with the little tidbits of them that we've read in these first three books in the series.

Jack Murphy has been interested in Liam Connelly ever since he interviewed the younger man to work at his bar and the attraction is reciprocated, however, Jack isn't out and Liam has been burned before by a closeted man, so Jack will have to make a decision soon or risk losing the best thing that ever happened to him.
I loved this story! There were so many plotlines running along with Jack and Liam's romance, but rather than detract attention from it, they just showcased the depth of their feelings. I particularly adored Big Jack's (Jack's grandfather) story and reading how he fell in love with a fellow soldier while they were both serving during WWII and have it come full circle with Jack and Liam finding Jeremiah, who the love of Big Jack's life. (Spoiler Alert: Please mark the blank space with your mouse or copy/paste on your phone if you want to read it. Proceed at your own risk!) While I found it odd that Big Jack didn't tell Jack anything until he died and only through a letter and the journals he left him, I loved that it was those that gave Jack the courage to finally do something about his attraction to Liam. Another storyline I enjoyed was the PTSD Jack suffered and how he coped with it, it was done in a very informative and sensitive manner.
I loved Jack and Liam together, even if they both had doubts with some of the things they perceived could hurt their relationship, they talked it through and emerged even stronger after every issue they faced. They had chemistry and fit in each other's lives amazingly.
While Surrender Your Heart could be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the two previous books first. There's an ongoing secondary storyline with the rest of the Fated Heart Series family that I promise you won't want to miss! I loved catching up with Gram and Lenny and the rest of the gang and I'm eager to start with JJ and Miller's story, since Aimee Nicole Walker has been teasing us enough with the little tidbits of them that we've read in these first three books in the series.

"Fated Hearts" series book 3) Incredible romance ! In the first four pages I adored Jack. This beautiful tale is heartwarming, funny, loving, accepting, and deeply thought-filled, making it soooo worthwhile ! Jack "Dragon" Murphy owns the bar Liam has worked at for 18 months. Liam came to town to find his half-brother Chase, but hasn't had the courage to tell him. Jack and Liam are attracted to each other, but haven't acted on it because of the employer/employee relationship. But the time has come. Older by 12 years, taller and rougher than smaller, leaner Liam, the men take a chance. Jack is in virgin territory because he's been closeted in the military and after, has never been with a man, and is fearful of family and friends reactions. He only has eyes for Liam. This GFY, coming out story is rich with super hot M/M sex, has a few twists and turns, and has a slow growth romance as these men accept that they are "in love". The letters from Jack's Granddad who passed away are integral in their journey.
This well crafted story is amazing, with breathtaking love that will leave you happy.

5 stars for the Fated Hearts series
One of my favorite things about reading a series, is that every time there is a new book, I go back a reread the old books before the new book. It allows me to get reacquainted with the boys and fall in love all over again. I fell in love with Chase and Gray in the first book and didn't think I could love another couple more. Well I was proven wrong when Aimee Nicole Walker introduced us to Xavier and Ben in the second book. The love between Liam and Jack is just as amazing in book three. However, the tears that I experienced in this book make it something special. This third book didn't disappoint, which didn't surprise me. The hints about what is to come, makes me anxious for JJ and Miller's story.

Beautiful love story about taking chances. Jack is too afraid to live as a gay man based on his worry about his family and friends not accepting him.
He learns his grandfather’s secret of being gay, and begins his journey of loving Liam. Liam believes Jack to be uninterested in him, but their chemistry is undeniable.

This was way to cheesy for me and I'm lactose intolerant so it didn't sit well. For me the characters were too perfect. No real conflict and no real story. I expected so much more bc Jack Murphy was supposed to be a badass and that didn't come thru at all, he just growled alot. Again Gram was the saving grace and that's why I gave it an extra star. I would skip this one if your reading the series. I'll give book four a chance hopefully it's better.

Devo essere sincera e dirvi che aspettavo l’uscita di questo libro da un bel po’ di tempo, perché questi due personaggi promettevano fuoco e fiamme fin dal secondo libro della serie. Sappiate, però, che qualora voleste leggerlo senza aver letto i libri precedenti, la storia di Liam e Jack è stata costruita così bene che non si ha assolutamente la percezione di essersi persi qualcosa del loro rapporto. Inoltre, l’escamotage usato per fare avvicinare i nostri due beniamini va al di là dell’attrazione che ognuno dei due prova per l’altro, fin dal primo momento in cui si sono conosciuti. Dovrà intervenire un evento triste e doloroso affinché entrambi trovino il coraggio di aprire il loro cuore sia nei confronti dell’altro che al resto del mondo.
Liam Connelly è un giovane uomo arrivato in città quasi due anni prima, alla ricerca di un fratello di cui, fino a quel momento, aveva ignorato l’esistenza. Ecco, è a questo punto che il lettore si trova coinvolto in ben due storie d’amore, quella del presente tra Jack e Liam, piena di fuoco e di prime volte e, quella del passato tra Big Jack e Jeremiah. Due uomini che hanno vissuto in un periodo diverso, e che daranno a Liam e Jack la possibilità che attendevano da sempre.
Non aggiungo altro, sappiate solo che l’autrice ha saputo dare a questa coppia l’intensità che meritavano e il giusto approfondimento psicologico. La lotta di Jack contro il DSTP e il modo in cui ha cambiato e capovolto la sua vita, viene trattata con realismo e soprattutto viene vissuta dal protagonista non come se fosse una vergogna, come, invece, fanno moltissimi veterani ma, come una vera malattia contro cui lottare giorno dopo giorno. La presenza e la premura del cane Charlie nei confronti del suo amato padrone, mi ha più volte commossa durante la lettura, a riprova del fatto che il cuore degli animali è sempre più grande di quello di qualsiasi essere umano. Ho amato la dolcezza di Jack nei confronti del suo Liam. Lui, il Dragone, di tante battaglie, l’alfa per eccellenza, pur essendo molto protettivo nei confronti di Liam è anche di una tenerezza incredibile. Il loro è davvero un sentimento unico, Jack vorrebbe proteggerlo da tutto e tutti, anche da se stesso perché Liam ha già sofferto molto per amore nel suo passato, e ora è intenzionato a ricevere solo il rispetto che merita, in una relazione. Non vuole più essere il segreto di nessuno. E sarà proprio questo che spingerà Jack a fare delle scelte importanti perché solo arrendendosi all’amore e mettendo da parte le paure si può vivere una vita degna di essere vissuta. Insomma, ancora una bella storia, ma non mi meraviglia, l’autrice ci ha abituate a storie che coinvolgono il lettore a tutto tondo. E questo è sicuramente, fino ad ora, il libro più delicato della serie. Quel sottile velo di malinconia che lo pervade non ha fatto altro che farmi innamorare ancora di più non solo dei protagonisti principali ma anche e, soprattutto della coppia secondaria, ma anche di tutti gli altri personaggi dei libri precedenti che sono stata felice di rivedere e scoprirne le ulteriori evoluzioni. Se cercate un libro che parli al vostro cuore, sussurrandogli solo parole tenere, ma avete bisogno anche di un po’ di ginnastica da camera e di sognare dei tempi andati, senza mettere da parte una sana risata, questo è un libro che non potete assolutamente perdervi.

3.5 stars for this sweet love story. It was certainly romantic but lacked just a little grit for my liking... This is perfect for those who love a beautiful romance relatively drama free ❤️

I absolutely loved Jack and Liam’s story. Even more so, I loved Big Jack and Jeremiah’s story. This book was so hot but also hit me right in the feels! Sigh

Jack Murphy è il proprietario di un pub, il Bottoms Up, ed è un Marine in congedo anticipato perché è stato testimone impotente della morte di tutta la sua squadra e quindi affetto dalla sindrome da stress post traumatico. Liam Connelly viene assunto come barista al pub, ma è approdato a Washington per un motivo ben preciso. Nessuno dei due uomini era preparato a quell’incontro e la loro è un’attrazione che nasce poco a poco, ma per Jack è una cosa strana, difficile da accettare. Riuscirà Liam a smontare mattone dopo mattone il muro che Jack ha costruito per difendersi?
Ultimamente le storie che trattano il tema M/M sono quelle che prediligo, le trovo più intriganti, più intense, più appassionate, e questa non è da meno, anche se…

Purtroppo però una volta esplosi, la storia si fa piatta, lineare, senza altri scossoni. C’è un filo logico: una lettera, lasciata da Big Jack, colui che ha cresciuto Jack, un nonno presente e che ha capito, prima di chiunque altro, la vera natura del nostro protagonista. Una lettera che rivela un segreto tenuto nascosto per tanti anni e che apre gli occhi a Jack permettendogli di accettarsi. Una lettera che lo porta a fare un viaggio, con il supporto di Liam, alla ricerca di una persona che è stata davvero importante proprio per Big Jack. Liam, di contro, è arrivato a Washington per un uomo, un fratello che è all’oscuro della sua esistenza. Non ha il coraggio di farsi avanti, ma visto che è una storia corale, ovvero dove i personaggi secondari sono fondamentali per il suo svolgimento, ci sarà qualcuno che lo aiuterà a svelarsi. Troviamo infatti Xavier Cruz, migliore amico e fratello adottivo proprio di Chase Wright, destinatario inconsapevole di quella particolare rivelazione e Grayson, marito di Chase. C’è anche un cane, Charlie, che ha un ruolo fondamentale nella trama, che è narrata dal pov alternato dei nostri due protagonisti. Jack è un uomo segnato dal dolore, ma che ritorna ad essere forte quando si tratta di Liam e ci rivela anche un lato tenero. Liam ha sofferto per amore e ora pretende di essere il centro dell’universo per l’uomo di cui è innamorato e l’autrice li ha caratterizzati alla perfezione.
Essendo un M/M il testosterone non manca di certo, neanche nelle scene di sesso che sono descritte in modo particolareggiato, ma che rimangono comunque passionali e intense. Per come era partito mi aspettavo veramente di più, pensavo di fare un giro sulle montagne russe, invece mi sono ritrovata sul bruco mela!

Jack is the owner of the ‘Bottoms Up’ bar, he’s quite , gruff, sexy and comes with a huge secret that he has kept hidden for 20 years. All that changes once he sets his eyes on the gorgeous new bartender Liam.
Liam moves to DC with a huge secret of his own, he has kept it hidden for 2 years whilst bartending at Bottoms Up and his feelings for Jack as well. These secrets are getting to him because Liam wears his heart on his sleeve, he’s open , honest and doesn’t play games.
What happens when tragedy strikes Jack , brings two souls together through love, devotion, understanding, patience and a whole lot of chemistry.
Have tissues handy cause this story will have tears leaking from your eyes , I loved reading about these two beautiful souls and cannot wait to read the next one, yep.... it’s JJ & Miller’s turn and I cannot wait to see these two fall to their knees and become the saps they never wanted to be.
