Brad, Jake and Sam continue to survive and thrive in the new world. But just as they start to establish themselves, a new threat arrives. One that even the collective fears. Throwing the balance into chaos once more. But with their growing powers and alliances, humanity isn't out of the game yet.
Yet another gripping book by Wideman. While I like Brad, I'm enjoying the cultivator story behind Jake. Good progress on all fronts while everyone powers up; only to be met with stronger enemies facing down humanity's end. Lots to unpack in this novel and eagerly waiting for the next installment.
CONS: The start of the book was a jump start right out of the gate. While action packed is good, it just seemed a bit jarring. But, how the story progresses explains the rush of action in the beginning.
Still an ok series. But I feel A bit disappointed that the author is trying to accelerate things so Quickly. Basically they went from running from seeders to 30 days later flying in space. I get it that authors love the big grand finale. But it gets a bit tedious and trope. The characters are all good and unique but the progression profile is Exponential And a bit unrealistic for even a work of unrealistic fiction. There are some other series out there that have a more measured growth profile for humanity. We'll see what the next book will bring.
Something of a non stop rollercoaster ride throughout the book. I had not planned to read the story for Aron and his group but now I really want to see what happened. The action in the story is nearly nonstop. I hope there is another book coming to see where the author takes the plot.
The end of the world as we know it. This story line come at the end of the world from a different direction to others enjoyable story line that moves fast.the three main characters with individual story lines takes a little getting used to especially as these story lines criss cross.
I love these books. It is a bit "series of unfortunate events" in that they're just bouncing from one terrible crisis to the next, but it's also so energetic and thrilling. Loved it.
Another book added and as we have seen in the prior books, a combination of great storytelling, characters, action, and worldbuilding leads to a book thats incredibly hard to put down.
After the large scale fighting last book it would have made sense for this book to have more consolidation. It seems like it is going that way until a new global threat emerges. The next book should deal more with that threat and the characters growth.
This is a solid 4.5 it’s not the best story ever but it’s a nice continuation of the story and characters continue to grow. I’ll buy the next book when it comes out.
