How can I bring non-churched people into your church? What is outreach? How can I make my outreach effective? If you find yourself asking these questions, author Mark Wood has the answers for you. He invites you to shift your perspective to what a non-church person sees, rather than trying to reach out from your personal, churched perspective.
Become active in your outreach efforts in your church through these tips and tricks. Understand how “reaching out” can actually become “outreach” through your church’s actions in the community. Through this book, you can equip your members with the tools they need to nurture new relationships outside the church body and watch how Christ can help your church grow.
Process oriented outreach ministry for the LCMS Congregation
If you are looking for someone to tell the latest successful program don't buy this book. This book is a useful process oriented approach to outreach ministry as you integrate new people into Word and Sacrament Ministry.
As far as outreach books go, I can't say that I've read many of them. However, this book makes a case for what effective outreach looks like. It doesn't do anything silly like claim, "THIS IS THE ONLY WAY." It does, however, show very clearly the common mistakes that people and congregations make (often faulty assumptions) when trying to do outreach.
This book NEVER falls into the trap of usurping AC V's confession that the Holy Spirit works when and where he wills. The book NEVER falls into the trap of denying the 3rd Article of the Apostles' Creed.
I am glad to have read this book. It was tedious at times, but if you need a tedious step-by-step process because you're entirely lost, this book will give you one.
Ultimately, this book is full of wisdom, full of practical advice, and NEVER overpromises. Well done Mark Wood, well done CPH.
Fantastic helpful and simple. Doesn't try to sell you on the one evangelism program you need to implement.instead grounds outreach in solid theory so you can be flexible and make a plan for your setting.
