Secrets in the Vault
By Andre Gonzalez
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, along comes Secrets in the Vault. Andre Gonzalez has written another page turner.
A cold case, a new mission, new obstacles and the team of Angels. Each Angel brings his/her own thoughts and processes to this case. Each Angel is faced with his/her past. How will all of this come together?
What I really appreciated in this story is getting a stronger insight into Arielle and the other three angels. They now know each other better; therefore, so does the reader.
Once again, Mr. Gonzalez leaves me wanting more.

If you thought Arielle, Selena, and Felix had a tough mission last time, hold on to your pants! Andre Gonzalez is a master of tension. This book is part mystery, thriller, and espionage.
The characters are phenomenal and the world building is neat. You feel like you're in the past and in the future, depending upon the current setting. Little details of the past (the 90s in this book) keep it real and immersive for the reader.
You can read this book without reading the first, but I highly recommend the first book, too.

Based on a true crime
The author put a thought-provoking time-travel spin on this cold case “pre-solve” of The Father’s Day Bank Massacre. If only we could REALLY go back in time to see “who dun it”. Sending people to research them immerse themselves in the environment prior to a crime’s occurring would be a lot more reliable than, let’s say, “The Minority Report”.

Crime fighting really does take a team. Identifying & prioritizing potential cases, assigning relevant team members, researching history, procuring transportation & living space, and all the other stuff that goes on behind the scenes before the Angels “trip out” on their Juice.

The author has some sage words for us all:
‘Speculation only causes false biases.’
‘There are lots of factors that go into a happy life; physical, emotional, spiritual. They all have to be fulfilled; they all take time and attention.’
We ALL need to have a back-up plan, careerwise. It’s not only athlete’s who need to switch after ageing out or suffering a major injury.

Fave quote:
‘The world still needs plenty of cleaning up.’

I already enjoyed ‘Dirty Money’ and am anxiously awaiting the release of ‘Time Roller’ (wishing I could jump to the future).

BOOK DESCRIPTION:
Four guards dead in a bank basement. Their killer roams free for the next thirty years.
Tasked with solving a crime known as the Father's Day Bank Massacre, Arielle Lucila and her team of Angels travel back to 1991 for their next mission.
Only this time, their training and expertise add little value.
Each Angel faces obstacles as the past pushes back with a fury.
In a desperate race against time, the three must work together to overcome the constant turmoil thrown their way at every turn.
Can they beat the odds and serve a long overdue justice, or will the killer escape for a second time?

The books in the Arielle Lucila series can be enjoyed in any order. This series is a spinoff from the international bestselling Wealth of Time series.

When you go back in time to observe, can you be a real angel assassin? - 4 stars

Three angel assassins - Arielle, Felix, and Selena - are sent back over 30 years from the current day to find out who the bank robber was. If you believe the police, they got their man but there were no convictions.

You would think, given that it was possible to do time travel, that it would be easy to just check out the situation, observe the robbery and possibly even avoid killings by the bank robber. After all, the people from the future already knew the date, time, and location.

Alas, meddling in the past has a few "rules"; a time traveler doesn't want to be left in the past and time has a way of resisting attempts to alter the future. What to do?

Join the team as they investigate the likely suspects starting two weeks before the robbery. Plans to use the 1990s technologies for bugs and the lack of current technology shows the advantages of cell phones, GPS tracking, and a wealth of spy technologies that have been developed. One of the nicely done vignettes concerns a snake bite to the team member who is most afraid of snakes. I could identify with the high level of fright.

Living by their wits and running when their cover is about to fall apart is almost humorous. The stress of nearly being found out elevates the story to be more of a psychological drama rather than a thriller. I did not expect the ending to play out as it did.

Arielle, Selena, and Felix travel back in time to monitor events leading up to the Fathers Day bank robbery, hoping to discover who was responsible. They face a few stumbling blocks, struggle against the past as their presence intervenes and find the task at hand difficult due to the unknown. They are starting to work well as a team and have each others backs. Well written with attention to detail. Contains action, danger and frustration at every turn. I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily leave an honest review.

Time is on my side

Another great offering by Andre Gonzalez! I love how the characters are amazingly strong yet emotionally vulnerable when time allows it. I just finished Secrets in the Vault and I'm already looking forward to digging in to the next installment. I am not, however looking forward to when I've read all that this author has released and have to wait for him to write more. Just wish I had some of that juice so I could jump forward in time a bit to get his next book. Keep em coming Andre, love your stories.

The Roadrunners are assigned to go back decades to investigate a bank robbery and murder. A bank robber entered the bank using a bank VP's name. He shot and killed and walked out with a bag of money. The event was never solved. Three Roadrunners are assigned to the task of finding out who did the crime. A suspect was arrested and acquitted. A very captivating novel that transcend time periods.

This was an interesting new take on the Road Runner missions. Going back in time to solve a cold case! It was interesting to see how the characters would handle not knowing what is going on and trying to figure out what was going down along with them was loads of fun. Time travel, murder mystery, spy craft/surveillance...makes for a great read.

Outstanding, once again. The mission this time is even more dangerous than last time. Thriller with espionage together. The gang has to figure out once again what happened and how to solve it. Each page will draw you in. Don’t miss out once it’s released.

a fairly fast-paced intriguing story!

I’ve read a lot of time travel books, and was caught up in this one quickly. Interesting twists and turns with who-done-it suspense. Well written and difficult to put down!

Fascinating plot with likeable characters

This book, the second in the Arielle series, is well crafted and fascinating. The characters have great depth and I'm interested in reading more about them and they're next missions.

I received an advanced reader’s copy of Andre Gonzalez’s latest book “Secrets in the vault” and found it just as intriguing and suspenseful as they always are from this great master of storytelling. We learn more about the individual members of the “Team of Angels” in this 2nd book in the series as they struggle to reach their goal and finding out that time is against them in more ways than one. If you’re a time travel nut like me you won’t be disappointed, but there’s only one way to find out.
