Laura Harkin accepted years ago that when you love someone, they eventually leave. She finds it safer to focus on her career with Wildcrest Witches International. How can she trust her growing feelings for Aaron when she knows he’ll just leave in the end?
Nobody wants to be responsible for bad magic…
Aaron Wright has crushed on Laura since high school. Back then her interest was in his brother. Since they’ve spent more time together touring local real estate, he senses her attraction to him. But when their feelings grow, her magic glitches.
As Laura considers if her fear of loss is causing her magic glitches, Aaron wonders if they have misaligning magic.
Can Aaron fix their misaligning magic, and if not, will Laura choose her magic over his love?
Read the story of their winding road to happily ever after in the second book in the small town, friends to lovers, sweet romance series, Wildcrest Witches.

That was really quite a lot of fun. It’s sweet and angsty with a couple of mysteries thrown in. After seeing the harder side to Laura, it was fascinating to get to know the vulnerable, slightly neurotic woman she is behind her defenses. And Aaron is just utterly adorable. I was instantly charmed by the social awkwardness he only displays with Laura. I couldn’t help but feel for him when it looked like his dream girl was going to remain forever out of his reach. I’m very curious, now, about the twist at the end of this book and I can’t wait to see where that little revelation is going to take us. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I would rate 2.5 stars if I could. This book had an intriguing premise. The foundation and structure of the writing was good, but ultimately it under-delivered. I completed it in under two hours - it is a very short book and quick read.
Pros - good premise, likeable characters, and well edited for grammar. Also, golf clap for showing two female former "frenemies" reunited - here here for female friendships!
Cons - this is tough to articulate without spoilers but - the story attempted to focus more on the anticipation than the fulfillment of the relationship, WHILE trying to deliver high stakes for the fate of said relationship. In my opinion it was not able to do both successfully.
Additionally the romantic moments lacked the description and vividness of the rest of the book. This was a PG rated book and I am not at all suggesting it should have been racier. What I am saying is that ideally an "almost kiss" should be described in the same or more detail than a house tour. At one point they alluded to an "almost kiss" and I had to go back and re-read because that had not come across.
To sum up - this book has a good premise and solid foundational writing. I think it could have been at least 1/3 longer and given us more to help the reader invest in the characters. Ultimately I rounded UP from 2.5 stars because darn it, I do want to know what happens in the next installment. I did not give it four stars because to be honest, I will probably not pick up the sequel.
Laura has finally decided to settle down a bit more after spending years focusing on her career. She, along with Aaron her real estate agent, are looking at houses. But she continues to draw out the process, and also, she is kinda developing feelings for him. But her past had made her weary of risking her heart on love.
Aaron has developed a crush on his client… But when her magic starts acting out, he realises that it is because they are not matched in magic. He refuses to be responsible for Laura for losing her magic. So he'll stay away to protect her and her magic, no matter how he feels.

This was such a sweet short read and the perfect pallet cleanser between books. Aaron is a complete dork and cinnamon roll and the absolutely perfect hero to Laura's fiercely independent personality. Their chemistry is undeniable and oh so hot, but their emotional story is so freaking sweet. Like the author makes you feel so many emotions in the few pages and I loved it.
Really absolutely adore this book and would love to read the rest of the series. The short and sweet stories are definitely a need in the world were living in. it brings so much joy to the reader.
~ A definite recommend. ~
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I was intrigued by the colourful covers, I'll admit xD but I stayed for the story!
I really, really liked it, because it's a super easy, enjoyable, non complicated read you can sit through in one go AND thoroughly amuse yourself.
I loved seeing Laura and Aaron try to make things work, and was feeling very emotional when both decided they would hit pause or even stop so Laura's magic wouldn't be the consequence of it all. HOWEVER I'm super happy with the resolution and now definitely intrigued enough to read both the first and the third book in this! (Yes, I only read the second. Whoops LOL)
The writing style is easy to read and get into, the subplot with the lost dog is adorable, and overall this is just the kind of light, summery romance you need on the beach, or maybe for an autumn's rainy day.
I think the only thing I might have changed was that it was so short!
I absolutely recommend, both this book and by extension the entire series.

Laura Harkin believes that when you love someone they eventually leave so she prefers to focus on her career. But what is she going to do about her growing feelings for Aaron Wright who has been showing her some houses around town? Things get complicated when it seems her magic is affected by their budding romance. Will she give up on love?
This book is second in what promises to be an excellent series, and I enjoyed the quick, fun read. The book's well-written with wonderful characters I enjoyed getting to know. I read this enchanting story in one sitting as I was drawn into it from the beginning. This sweet, magical romance is a wonderful tale. I'm looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I think is best read in order.
Lauren was looking to buy a house - and Aaron was her realtor - and also her boss's son. So a date is out of the question - isnt it? But every time she gets close to him, he magic is disrupted. Does this mean that they cant have a relationship? What does his mother have to do with it? A funny, quirky love story! Magic! Looking forward to the next book to see what happens! The second book in the Wildcrest Witches Romance series. Laura Harkin and Aaron Wright start having feelings for each other when her magic starts to act off. Their story has drama, twists, turns, unexplained happenings, and romance with a surprise ending. I want to read the next book to find out what is happening. This was a simple story that Id rate 2.5 stars. Unfortunately the writing style didn’t gel with me and I found it quite frustrating at times. I found myself wanting to be shown not told. I also wish the characters were more developed. I feel that the outline of the plot could have made a sweet story. Overall I think this is a story that had potential but requires more thought with its execution. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Wow!!! Definitely a great addition to this amazing series. If I thought book one was great this one was on a whole another level. Full of intrigue with twists and turn that's going to keep you hooked from beginning to end.

Aaron a realtor was showing Laura different houses since she wanted to move out of her apartment but was having trouble picking one. His father was CEO of Wildcrest Witches International and was striving for that. Her magic started going wacky on her but more after being with her boss who was human? They decided to give themselves a chance. Good book.
I'm excited to launch the second of the planned Wildcrest Witches trilogy with Laura and Aaron's story! As with the first book, it's meant to be a fun, flirty, quick read :) If you enjoy small-town, friends-to-lovers sweet paranormal romance, I hope you'll give it a try.
