Daddy/boy books are some of my favorites. Bet you couldn't tell:) Beau is a middle who meets Jackson, who is thought to be straight but who is actually bi. He had thought for some time that he might be a "Daddy", but when he first say Beau...he was more than sure.
He is a biological daddy to an adorable 3-year-old son, Dakota. From all three character's first meeting...their lives changed, and they hoped they would never go back to how they had been. These two men, Beau and Jackson, had been created for each other. They didn't dive head-first into a romantic relationship. They took things slow, got to know one another, and Beau got to know Jackson's son. It didn't take long for them to realize that what they had was beyond special. Jackson's family was so understanding and welcoming to Beau who was scared they weren't going to like him, and Jackson's 3-year-old son stole the story. Even the ex-wife that I was sure was going to make trouble, ended up not being half-bad, but no reader will make her their "favorite character".
This series has return characters from the other books. Coleman Ranch seems to be a home-base for gay cowboys...all in a really good way, so if the books aren't read in order, you may be left wondering who all these folks are...even though the Coleman Ranch wouldn't be a bad place to be lost at.

This is a fun, feel-good Daddy/boy story based on the men of Coleman Ranch. Beau, working at the ranch, spots Jackson who is delivering older animals to the petting zoo at the ranch market. They both are good friends with Sean, a MC from Book 1 in the series. The first meeting is insta-love and they both experience an immediate, strong attraction. Jackson is surprised because prior to that he had only been attracted to women. The attraction is so strong that he doesn't question it and Jackson becomes Beau's Daddy. They launch a very passionate relationship.
Jackson has a toddler son who mostly resides with his mother, who has full custody. The initial custody agreement was unfair and the story deals with that issue, as well as the strong bond that forms between Beau and the son. While the book may gloss over the legal complexities of custody hearings, it does right a wrong. Coleman Ranch is a beautiful place of love, acceptance, friendship, and mutual support.

I love, love books with MCs with kids!!! Dakota was so sweet. This book had cameos from A.W. Scott’s others series and I wish I had started with them but I love cowboy books so here we are.

Ce que j’ai découvert a bouleversé mon monde entier.
Un jeune homme, peut-être dans la vingtaine, se tenait debout, vêtu d'une chemise en flanelle bleu ciel et d'un jean. Il portait un chapeau de cow-boy noir sur la tête, dont les boucles commençaient à apparaître sur les bords.
Je n'avais jamais ressenti autant le besoin de prendre quelqu'un dans mes bras qu'à ce moment-là. C'était un coup de poing dans le ventre, une attirance brûlante qui me déchirait et rendait ma bite plus dure qu'elle ne l'avait jamais été de toute ma vie.
« Pardon ? » Ma voix était rauque.
« J'ai dit que tu avais le plus petit cul que j'aie jamais vu. » Ses yeux brillaient tandis qu'il me taquinait. Comme je ne répondais pas davantage, le gars leva les yeux au ciel. « Tu es Jackson, n'est-ce pas ? Je suis Beau, le meilleur ami de Sean. »
Sa main se tendit vers la mienne, par-dessus le stylo. Je la fixai un instant avant de m'y accrocher. Comme je m'en doutais, une nouvelle bouffée de désir me parcourut.
Beau frissonna visiblement tandis que ses yeux s'écarquillaient. J'étais à deux doigts de l'emmener quand mon frère est intervenu.
« Je suis Sonny, le frère de Jackson. Enchanté de vous rencontrer, Beau. Vous devrez excuser Jackson. Il passe une bonne partie de son temps libre avec quelqu'un qui n'a toujours pas ses deux dents de devant et qui ne sait compter que jusqu'à dix. Ses capacités de conversation sont insuffisantes lorsqu'il s'agit d'adultes. »
J'ai repoussé mon frère. Cela signifiait que je lâchais la main de Beau, mais je serais damnée si je laissais tomber ses taquineries. C'était mon devoir fraternel.
« Cela ressemble à... une compagnie divertissante. »
Je les ai regardés tous les deux en levant les yeux au ciel. « Il parle de mon fils de trois ans. »
Contrairement à la plupart des gens qui ont entendu dire que j'avais un fils, Beau ne s'est pas éloigné. Au lieu de cela, il m'a regardée de haut en bas, lentement.
Quand il eut fini, il m’adressa un sourire qui ne fit qu’accroître mon intérêt. « Un papa, hein ? »
J’avais le sentiment, d’après le regard qu’il portait, que sa définition était différente de la mienne.
Pourquoi était-ce si intriguant ? Et pourquoi avais-je cette envie de le revendiquer comme mien alors que je n'avais jamais pensé une seule fois à être avec un autre homme ?

Le beau, doux et séduisant, avec qui j'avais discuté, avait disparu. À sa place se tenait un homme déterminé qui cherchait manifestement quelque chose. Je ne savais pas trop quoi.
« Mes conditions ? Je dirais que tu dois passer une heure à aider mon frère avec les animaux aujourd'hui pendant que je rends visite à ma meilleure amie. » Je l'ai taquiné en utilisant le mot raccourci. « Les tiens ? »
Beau s'est rapproché du bord de l'enclos, ne s'arrêtant pas avant d'être suffisamment près pour que je sois la seule à l'entendre. Son corps s'est penché en avant au moment même où ses mains se posaient sur mes épaules.
« Si je gagne, je veux une nuit. Aucune limite et aucun recul. »
J'ai dégluti.

Un sourire m'est venu à l'esprit lorsque j'ai repensé à la nuit précédente. Jackson avait été un délice à regarder. Je me sentais un peu comme une perverse à cause de l'intensité avec laquelle je l'avais regardé, mais je ne pouvais pas m'en empêcher.
C'était pareil la minute où je l'ai vu installer les animaux que lui et son frère avaient élevés. Bien sûr, Sean m'avait parlé du grand et merveilleux Jackson. Il était l'ancien meilleur ami de mon meilleur ami actuel, de son ancien ranch.
Au début, j'étais furieuse de son arrivée. Il n'avait pas le droit de venir ici avec de mignons animaux en peluche et de voler l'attention de tout le monde.
Mais ensuite je l'ai rencontré.
Et bon sang. Cet homme valait la peine d'arrêter la circulation pour lui.
Il avait été habillé toute la journée, mais je n'avais aucun doute sur le fait que son corps était fait de muscles purs. Son corps était simplement construit de cette façon. Comme beaucoup d'éleveurs en fait. J'étais globalement pareil, même si j'essayais de rester mince. Je voulais une souplesse qu'on ne pouvait pas toujours avoir avec ce travail. J'ai vraiment essayé.

L'idée de rester au lit toute la journée me traversait l'esprit. Je pouvais paresser et me laisser aller à l'idée de rater l'occasion d'emmener Jackson au lit.
Il était évident que nous flirtions au marché. Et puis nous nous étions regardés pendant le feu de joie. Je suis restée éveillée si tard uniquement parce qu'il ne semblait pas vouloir partir. Dès qu'il s'est levé, j'étais prête à m'évanouir dans une nuit de sommeil bienheureux.

When he is presented with a wager he finds himself unable to refuse. Beau always goes after what he wants but the sexy man is hesitant so he offers a trial with no strings attached. When situations change, the two are forced to evaluate just how much they mean to one another. Will Beau be able to rope his Daddy? Or will he have to let the man who stole his heart slip through his grasp?
I enjoyed this story with the vindictive ex-wife, the sweet little boy who would melt anyone's heart and the protective way everyone was over him. I enjoyed the care that was taken over all the characters and the pressures and responsibilities. I loved the way that Jackson and Beau just couldn't stay away from each other and that their friendship and trust were built up over time. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is a MM story with a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.

The second Coleman Ranch book offers an interesting take on the daddy/boy genre. A daddy who is also a dad. Of a precious three year old boy who often upstages the main characters.
So, overall, a fun read. Not quick because the poor editing would take me out of the story. And since this isn't Scott's first rodeo, I wonder if the book was rushed.
By now, I'm invested in these characters. So of course I'm going to read the next up in the series.

I love a book where the two mcs know what they want and go after if. No games just know and makes it happen. These two put their cards on the table early and I love that they did that.
I loved watching their sweet love grow. This a a great found family books. The support these two had was amazing. The wring was great and the smexy was yum. Thank you for books that have daddies or littles with a kid. Just need more diversity.

Im enjoying these but only 3 stars due to edit errors and IMO only...I personally don't know any almost 4 yr old who are not toilet trained..(but maybe thats a sign of Dakotas mixed up fmaily) as he seems settled towards the end
the characters are cool although I do get a little confused as to who is who since there is a few interconnected series it seems

Okay my reviews aren’t showing up when I wrote them after finishing the story so I’m going to have to write it here. Hopefully it’ll be as good as when I first wrote it. I loved reading about Beau and Jackson. And Jackson not having a lot of angst about his attraction to Beau was a great surprise. I hate when the characters have a lot of inner turmoil when it’s not necessary. Dakota is a sweetheart. He is going to love Coleman Ranch as much as the guys do. I can’t wait to get more from there.

The instalove was painful. The MCs were way too sappy. Characters from previous books had too much page time. Dakota was uninteresting (and don’t get me started about his speech sounds). The issue resolution was weak. There was no focus on the really interesting themes and issues.

Beau and Jackson’s story is just delightful. As for Dakota you’ve got to love that sweet little boy. He’s so wise. I adore Beau and it was wonderful seeing him get his happy ever after.

I really liked this story but it definitely needed better editing, so I give it 4.5 stars. I loved all of the characters and the storyline, and will be reading the 3rd book in the series!

This is a great Daddy/Boy long-distance story. Jackson needs to stay where he is to see his son. But when visiting his best friend Sean, he finds the one person he can’t get his mind off of. Beau is adorable and works hard for everything. He even goes above and beyond to ensure that Jackson’s son Dakota is accepted and taken care of. Dakota almost steals the show. Great read, and I wonder what else will become of this series.
