She's unsure of who she can trust.
And maybe most importantly, who is the true enemy?

With her deep love of reading and adventure, Ashley was an aspiring author from a young age. I started reading / listening to this book during a particularly hard time in my life and it was both the perfect escape and perfect reminder of the importance of Truth especially when it's hard to see. This book does it all - pulls you right away in a world so intricate and eerie that you need to know more about it and wastes no time to call that world out for all it's flaws over the course of the book - but never without acknowledging that the goals of the society may not have been the worst.
The main character is one you are happy to be on the journey of this book with, for better and worse. Seeing the world through her eyes tells an amazing story of identity, forgiveness, letting go and becoming and a part of this world and book will always live inside me and is welcome to do so - I don't ever want to forget this book.
My Review: Alexandra was five years old when she was handed over to the Establishment. At the age of five, children are taken from their surrogate mothers and handed over to the Establishment. Then, at the age of twelve, boys are given injection. At the age of seventeen, girls are chosen to be a carrier or they are also given injection. Alexandra recently turned seventeen. On her seventeenth birthday, instead of celebrating it, she was all in tears. During the examination, she received the test results and the scientist told her that she is chosen for injection. Alexandra never wanted to be a carrier but she is not happy to be injected either.
After three weeks, on the first day of her menstrual cycle, she has to return to the same centre. Alexandra will be ripped of her emotions. She was born in Establishment 3, one of the smaller establishments in the Sovereignty. Colin informed about the attack on the Establishment 3 and other establishments. What is written in the fate of Alexandra? This is a fine story that is written with so much creativity. Author has done wonderful work in this novel. It is such a refreshing story. I haven't come across any story that has a plot even close to this. I am definitely gonna remember this story and would suggest it to my friends too.
2020: Injection written by the author Ashley McCoury is a Science fiction novel that is set in the future. Story features a seventeen years old girl Alexandra. She will either be chosen to be a carrier of new life or she will be given the injection. Alexandra is not in favor of either of these choices.
Alexandra didn't want to be a carrier as in that female would be artificially inseminated, partnered with a male she had never met, and bear a child which both had to raise until the age of five. Alexandra's appointment was set since her birth and today she has went for the examination where she was chosen for the injection and was asked to return on the first day of her next menstrual cycle. Grab a copy of this book to know what happens when she met a strange man that took her outside of the Establishment.

Injection by Ashley McCoury is a fantastic science fiction novel set in the future. The story is completely different as I have never thought of something like this before. It's unique and exciting to read. It's mainly about seventeen-year-old Alexandra who was taken from her mother when she was just five and handed over to the Establishment. Whatever she knew, everything she learnt is from that Establishment. There is a injection that she wanted to avoid because she wants to be herself, and the injection can change her completely. There is an alternative to taking the injection. What's that alternate? Can she follow the path she wants? Can she avoid the injection?
I can’t tell you more because then it would spoil the story for you, I want you all to discover this story by yourself. It will definitely leave you on the edge of your seat!
This is an utterly well woven story that revolves around three groups namely the establishment, the seditionist and the outlandish. At the 'establishment' males received injection at the age of twelve, and females at seventeen, or they became 'carriers' and afterwards got the injection. Injections were supposed to take away human emotions, leaving behind an emotionless empty person.
The 'Seditionist' and the 'Outlandish' opposed the very existence of the idea of injections and they worked towards abolishing it. But they had their different ideologies, methods and approaches. The seditionist followed destructive approach where as the outlandish followed constructive approach.
The main character of story is a seventeen year old, fragile, fearful, anxious girl 'Alexandra'. She was on the verge of being injected or becoming a carrier. However, series of events happened that changed her life completely and turned her into a fierce women, a ready to face everything and anything person.
The story is about Alexandra's adventure, courage, the revelations in her life and her realisation of the power that love beholds. Will she be able to serve her purpose? Will her sacrifices be worth it? What her fate will lead her into? Check out the book to know more!
( Format : Audiobook ) "I'm Alexandra." Judging from the number of five star reviews on Goodreads, this is obviously appeals to young adults far more than it did to me. my fault: I had expected something more along the lines of the superb classic, Brave New World and instead discovered only another tale of localised inter group clashes at the centre of which is our 'heroin' 2020, a seventeen years old self obsessed, self pitying girl now calling herself Alexandra, who is somehow idolized by those around her whilst managing to cause grief and disaster because of her own stupidity. Rather than universal, too, the whole situation feels very localised - the main society, the Establishment where all boys are given an injection at the age of 12 which removes emotion, the girls not getting their similar injections until aged 17 unless it was decided at that age that they should become the mothers of the future citizens. If so chosen, the young women were artificially inseminated and allowed to care for their offspring for it's first five years of life together with another randomly assigned male, Both, however, were unable to give it affection. The whole societal setup was, however, sadly neglected, the author instead rapidly moving on to the two opposing groups, the Outlandish, who mostly lived underground and went round rescuing and absorbing into their ranks the odd Establishment survivors, especially children, found after attacks on the Establishment developments, and the Seditionists, who lived on the land in camps and were the major attackers, violent men for whom women were merely chattels.
In addition to the skirmishes between the three groups and 2020s part in the resulting fights, together with her constant misery, years and general self pity, there is a religious factor - the beautiful shepherd-like being which promises freedom from burdens if followed and appeared in dreams or as a vision in times of stress to both 2020's mother and herself, to the latter's confusion.
Narration was reasonable. Lauren Garvin has a pleasant voice but her reading was not always properly phased,as if she were not fully aware the meaning of what she was actually reading, and her intonation tended to the depressive. But there were few word mispronunciations, and no poorly executed edits, and some of the character voices were differentiated, though not all, so certainly not a bad performance.
My thanks to the rights holder who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy of 2020 Injection, via Free Audiobook Codes. I read to the end, despite thinking of giving up on the book on a couple of occasions, but I don't like to do that unless the writing is really dire. This certainly was not that, just far too contrived and rather immature. Not for me. But obviously much enjoyed by many. There will be a sequel, the continuation link is already set. But I personally will not bother.

📚 2020: Injection " is an heart touching story by the Author Ashley McCoury. It's a engaging and refreshing read containing around 256 pages, which will take the readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I really appreciate the author for writing this beauty. The tittle of the book is appropriate for the content and also the cover looks simple yet so catchy.
📚 Coming to the plot, the story revolves around a women, who was seventeen years old and going through a lot in her life. She was not a typical women, people watched her as if she was freakish. It was time for her to either be chosen as a carrier or be given the injection. The narrator didn't have the correct genes to bring forth a child. After examining her body, the scientist announced that she is for the injection. At that very moment, all human emotions were coming into play. She somewhere wasn't ready for becoming a carrier.
📚She didn't wanted to bear a child with a male whom she had never known before and raise the child until the age of five. Alexander was the name given by her surrogate. The book talks about the narrators journey, battling through lots of ups and downs. It takes place in the year 2020, which has brought so much pain, loss in each ones life, the deadly pandemic has taken away happiness as well as lives. What happens next in the story? Will things be in her favour? Or will her efforts go in vain? The plot of the book is very well crafted and designed.

I really enjoyed this book. The story of Alexandra's journey outside of the Establishment left me always wanting to know what was going to happen next. There were so many unexpected twists and turns, and the author did not hold back on some pretty heavy themes (which I really appreciated). To be honest, this book was on of the best treatments on the topics of grace and forgiveness I have ever read in a fiction novel. She didn't hold anything back and there were times I felt myself being challenged on what it really means to truly forgive. I cannot wait to read more about Alexandra, Marek, and so many of the other characters in the sequel(s) to come!
