Shifter's Mate
It is supposed to be a fun night out, but I have no idea that I’d be on the brink of death by the end of it.
After getting turned around in the small town of Crest Falls and having my car run out of gas, I’m forced to walk back to town on foot.
But I’m not alone.
Something is stalking me.
I do the only thing I can do.
I run as far and as long as I can.

I’m out.
The wolf society allows women to be hunted, assaulted, and [claimed] like slaves or property.
One of the guys was in support of leaving her to her attacker, to be [mated], against her will, by the same bastard who left her bleeding and wounded, to live or die.
We are told he would have returned for her as he pleased.
The other MMC says he is opposed to it, but the implication is because he knows her, they have a history.
It’s possible this will get better, but I can’t deal with the ugly right now.
[Doesn’t help the FMC is 20, but supposed to have this involved history that doesn’t match her age.] She’s already annoying me.
I’m out.

Protecting Tamara . . .
We get to meet Tamara, Max, Riley, and Brett in this new series. Tamara is on her way to a party when she runs out of gas. She called Sam but got angry at her treating her like it was all her fault, so she hung up and started to walk back to town for help. Forgetting her charger, she had to turn around and walk back to the car. But the overhead light was on, then blinked out. Someone was in her car! She went into the woods to keep out of sight. However, she heard footfalls as something was coming after her and she was unable to outrun it.
Riley was in his yard chopping wood when a stranger walked up wanting a place to stay. At first Riley said no, but he and Brett could use the money, so he charged him for one week. Max offered to repair the porch swing and whatever else needed to be repaired. After introducing Brett, Riley went out for a run in his wolf form and smelled blood. Attacked and dying in the woods, Tamara had given up but she tried to call out for help. Riley shifted back to human form and carried her back home. Max quickly left, not wanting anything to do with whatever happened to the girl. Riley cleaned he wounds and Brett saw the bite on her belly as another wolf claimed her. But she was still human. If she didn’t turn, she would be unclaimed. Riley refused to let the other wolf take her.
When Tamara awoke, she recognized Riley since he broke up with her 3 years ago. She was furious. So he left the room. Brett was angry too when he found out Riley knew her and has put them in danger with the other pack. Riley asked Brett to clean her wounds since she won’t let him touch her. And while they argued, Max came back. And Riley now noticed Max wasn’t human, but he wasn’t a wolf either. He is a werecoyote. The three of them will try to get Tamara away from there by the next day since she is healing quickly. The beast that harmed her intends to come back for her. Will they get her to safety before he finds them?

Wolf Fated is Jenna Edon's latest series. The first book, Shifter's Mate, was a quick read that gave off that old shifter lore feels with fated mates being a legend, turned wolves, full moons, purebreds, and more.
Shifter's Mate is only the second book I've read by Jenna and unfortunately, I wasn't really captivated by it. I could get lost in the story the way I normally would. Tamara was an okay character but the guys just fell a little flat for me. They are her potential love interests but the vibes they are giving off aren't good. Not to mention the way they excuse way their bad behavior and for two of them, the excuse doesn't even make sense.
The plot of the story was a little off as well. The events didn't fit together well and I felt as if some details were left out that should have been included. It felt like I was just getting pieces of a few different stories. There was a couple of plot twist that was interesting. Overall Shifter's Mate was an alright read and if you want something quick to read that gives that nostalgic werewolf lore feels then you could check this one out.

This was great!!
I really enjoyed this first book in the Wolf Fated series. Tamara gets bitten by a werewolf and ends up being saved by her ex boyfriend who she didn't know was also a wolf shifter. Riley had to break up with her because she was human but she was his fated other half. She also starts a relationship with him, and his friend Brett. Also with the new guy Max. It sets up the story for the next book with the man who bit her not actually being dead.

Great short story. It felt a little rushed in places, and I couldn’t keep up with the different entwining story lines and kept thinking I’d missed something. Having said that, Max is a babe and I’m super excited to see what the gang get up to next.
Read this in just under an hour, really easy read , just not enough sauce for me.

It's an enjoyable read with a lot of potential, but some of the storylines felt incomplete or rushed without much room for development of the (back) story and/ or the characters. I think if those parts of the story get developed more it'll be an amazing first book in a series.

I enjoy a good shifter story add in a mystery and fated mates and i’m sold. This was a solid start to the series and i’m looking forward to see how things progress in the next book.

Great start
First off its a continuing saga but its really good. Lots of confusion, lost love, betrayal and doubt and one little lady seems to be the center of it all.
