Falling in love wasn't in the memo.
Meredith Shields is a 32-year old boss-ass babe. She's obsessed with her career and perfectly content with her life as a singleton. If there's one thing she likes even more than her freedom and her designer labels, it's winning. So when her boss sends her on an expensive errand of shutting down a farm in Texas in order to build a mall in its place, Meredith happily rises to the occasion. Only, she has no idea how much of a challenge this specific job will be. Nate Branson, the handsome farmer, proves to be a worthy adversary for Meredith, and a little more than a distraction to Meredith's original scheme.
Nate Branson is a 37-year old widower with an intense love for his family, his dog, his farm and small-town living. He's obliviously become the most eligible bachelor of the town of Bluegrove, but since losing his wife, he's had zero interest in other women. So you can imagine his surprise, when a bossy city girl comes stomping into his life wearing sky-high heels, with every intention of kicking him off of his farm. That same girl just happens to annoyingly be the first woman who's made him feel anything but spite in years.
The pair become entangled in many a comical ordeal together, and despite both of their initial reservations toward one another, begin to grow close. But nothing is funny after they kiss and can't seem to keep their hands off of each other.
Nate is stubborn.

But when push comes to shove, will they choose war, or love?

SWOON
Let's be honest, the real star of this book is Bruce, the dog. He was favorite, although to be fair, Mr. Cowboy was pretty great. If you're looking for a sweet romance that has just the right amount of heat, this is it! The characters are adorable, their banter is top notch, and their story will make you swoon. So happy to have read this gem by Kathey!

What a cute, flirty read! These characters were totally loveable, and their story was definitely swoon worthy. The ending left a little to be desired, but I still enjoyed this book.
