This workbook is a guided path through the various emotions that we feel. Unique to this workbook, rather than focusing on being happy or sad or frustrated, they focus on the situation. What kind of emotions do you fell when you are stressed? What emotions do you feel when your plan falls apart? This is much more relatable and useable to me than trying to deal with just a base emotion.
Each section has you analyze and try to understand where the emotions come from, then gives you some questions so you can reflect on how you reacted in the past, and with new information how you can change or improve your reactions.
This is a pretty short book, under 100 pages, but the layout makes it a good resource to continually refer to and use to self-correct. This will be a go-to in my work as a people-manager so that I learn about myself, and help evaluate my teams during moments of stress and when things are going well.
This book is amazing for anyone doing work on yourself, and finding yourself. So for me this was the perfect time to be reading this. Each chapter starts with seeing how much you know about each emotions, summarizing each emotion, and then having a post chapter reading questions. Each chapter starts off with a behavior or feeling we have- then going off to name the subsequent emotions. For example, in chapter one it is titled- places we go when things are uncertain or too much. Then goes on to list of feelings that can come from that. Such as stress, feeing overwhelmed, anxiety, dread, avoidance, etc. It is an easy read and I would consider it a starter book for learning to love yourself and do work on yourself.
This book was a really helpful tool to reflect after reading each chapter in the actual Atlas of the Heart book. The questions made me think and provided accurate summaries of each chapter. I wish there had been more space to write out answers and there were several grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book that were a little distracting. Overall, a very good workbook!
This is a very well put together workbook based on “Atlas of the Heart” written by Brené Brown. Each chapter includes a list of key lessons learned, and any key words and phrases. I thought it was important that Robin Reads pointed out that stress can have a major physiological effect on us, as well as a psychological one. I answered the questions at the end of the chapters and they definitely helped me gain clarity. This workbook reminds us of the importance of differentiating emotions in order to help us navigate through life. I highly recommend if you are looking for some actionable steps for self improvement.
Explaining about all qualities of mind , which qualities we have to use on our life which are not. How to think in a right way in right situations. Which qualities we have to focus more, how to control our anger, grief, emotions etc. I loved this book, and also worth for the money.
