He will do anything to protect her from monsters – and most importantly, from himself. After all, he is the worst of them all.
Veronica has lived through enough nightmares. She doesn’t need another one. And Crow knows he’s a grotesque beast, a sight unfit for human eyes. He settles for protecting her from afar and keeping his distance. But he can’t help coveting her luscious body and wishing for things he can never have: her touch, her kisses, her screams of pleasure and sweet words of surrender. He can barely fight off the urge to lay his eggs inside her. And the thing that can alleviate his curse? A true love’s kiss, or rather, something much more lustful than a kiss. But Crow would never ask it of Veronica, even though his feathers quiver with how much he wants her.
This birdman erotic novella is 20k word long, contains EGGS, and is for adult audiences only.

This is getting worse by the minute... Again, started good, a lot of curiosity to other book in other series. Crow was cursed by a witch, and he's trying everything to break the curse.
Veronica safe him in his crow form, so he felt in love with her. Protecting her/stalking her. In this one was the eggs scenes, it ruined the story for me...
So let me start by saying I came into this book terrified🥲🐦!! I have a serious fear of birds but I buckled down and got over it for this delicious writing. Now as many of you may know if you’ve kept up with the series these monsters have massive c*cks and they also have delicious 🤤 sperm. This one is no exception because Crows baby gravy taste like blueberries 🫐!! You know if done correctly you could make some good syrup and bless that ontop of some MF pancakes 🥞!!
Now let’s focus on the other gems of this read. Unlike the other books Crow was not born this way a trifling hag gave him this curse that would make him into a bird for eternity. I know it freaking sucks but Crow does not allow that to deter him. He keeps it pushing and finds a way back to his humanity.
This book does have a few twist and turns and some domestic violence (Off page) but it is mentioned and you literally want to kick her lollipop head a** ex into next year. But no worries 😉 Mr. Crow the legit c*ck of the walk steps in and saves our girl. We clap,we scream and then they make sweet monster love. This novella had so many layers for only a 90 page count but that’s just great writing for you. I urge you to take an hour out and give this spicy number a chance.
Crow is a creature that has been cursed to live by day as a crow, and a monster of sorts at night. He becomes enchanted by a human woman named Veronica but keeps his distance. That is until he sees she is in trouble. He swoops in to save her, knowing that she will be scared of him. But what happens when she's intrigued instead?
This book is wild but super entertaining!! I just could not put it down.
This Monster Ever After series is definitely unique and entertaining and I enjoyed this story too!!
Protective over Veronica, Crow was quite the badass. And quite the caring lover. And very much a dirty bird. ;) These two were adorable together and they are the perfect match.
I absolutely loved getting the backstory of Crow. Why he is the way he is. And how he and Veronica actually met. Made this story extra sweet and swoony and made me understand him so much more.
The other characters in here were interesting too, enough to where I want to read their stories. And I’m happy to find out, they do have their own stories. Yay!
Crow is the fifth story I’ve read from this series and had a lot of fun reading. If you’ve read and loved the others, definitely give this one a try.
Side note: I’ll be eyeing those little feathered friends a bit differently from now on.
I really loved Crow so much! He's been the most romantic ML so far of the series and you can FEEL his love for Veronica. There are no laughs in this book, but the first 45% of the book is dark and romantic, very fairy tale with curses, auras, and Baba Jaga! It's the second part that turns it into erotica. Very different and with a small amount of spanking, and you will have to read it to learn about the eggs!
Sometimes you just need to read something really fucking weird. That’s this. It was fun, bizarre, and scratched an itch. Super short so it moves fast and you can read it in a couple hours 👌🏻
First let me just say that I found the cover and concept of this one the most disturbing. Birds freak me out but I soldiered on.
I’m usually most fascinated by the flavor of semen in these books but the fact that it was like blueberry syrup pales to the fact that he has EGGS IN HIS TESTICLES and he doesn’t experience full pleasure unless he releases them.
Also the shape of his um, equipment. I can’t help but think it looks like Birdos face from Mario bros video games. God, now that I think of it, maybe that’s where the author got her inspiration? Lol
I really liked that the entire thing was in the hero’s pov and I don’t recall the others being like that.
This one is my favorite so far. I liked that it was from Crow's POV, how protective he is. Need to read Draco because I like Jaga. Felt more story than smut. Bit of egg laying/breeding going on. Food related epilogue again but the eggs were a bit more normal. Definitely the sweetest one.

If you’re looking for a short novella that’s filled with some bird shifter monster romance, then ‘Crow’ is the perfect book for you! I haven’t read many bird shifter books so I loved that I found this one and enjoyed it as much as I did.
It’s a great read to devour in a few hours and it had a surprisingly wholesome little story wrapped up with some scorchingly spicy scenes. I really liked Crow’s relationship with Jaga and the banter and humour that went along with it (and I could honestly read a whole book with their shenanigans!! haha) and Crow and Veronica’s relationship was so sweet and had this fairytale-esque atmosphere to it that I thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing beats the trope of having a cursed MMC that’s “saved” by his love and fated mate.
And the spice was hot, detailed and sweet—even in the throes of passion as Crow is just a caring cinnamonroll of a MMC and only lives to make her feel treasured. There is lots of exploration and a heavy dose of oviposition to top things off (with some interesting unique qualities to both Crow’s anatomy and oviposition method). Oh! And everything tastes of blueberries…
And I have to say that I actually chuckled out loud while reading the epilogue! Haha I won’t spoil it, but I don’t think you’ll ever see eggs the same again!
The themes in this book are fairly light and it’s more focused on the spice over the plot, but there are a few things I will mention below that could potentially be triggers for some people. Though nothing is overly explicitly written or depicted on page (except for the spice, of course!)
━━ † ━━
⚔️TRIGGER LIST⚔️
— Explicit sex scenes — Depictions of painful transformations — Mentions of domestic violence — Violence — Brief mentions of blood — Brief mention of children (epilogue) — Light impact play (spanking) — Sex with MMC in his monster form (half man/half crow) — Oviposition (egg laying)

‘Crow’ was a spicy, touching and surprisingly sweet monster romance novella that is perfect for a quick and enjoyable read. If you enjoy your romance with all the; touch her you die vibes, a fairytale-esque romance (cursed MMC & his beauty of a “fated mate”), a feisty cinnamonroll MMC, oviposition, funny banter, soft feathers with unique monster peen anatomy and love the taste of blueberries, then I would highly recommend this book. 5/5 stars!!
I loved this story. I enjoyed his protectiveness, but loved it even more when he explained where it came from, and why he did it. She loved the explanation too. She felt safe and protected with him, and coming from what had happened to her, that was huge. They just fit. She accepted everything about him, his features and his blueberries. It just made me smile!
Noooo, I'm so sad, the edition I read had this BEAUTIFUL cover, but goodreads doesn't have that? And now I have to add THIS abomination. I'm very sad...
“You make the world more beautiful every day you wake up into it. Don’t ever think otherwise.”
I did not enjoy this. To be fair, I read it because I knew it was bad. I was hoping for at least some entertainment. This did not deliver. The only reason this gets two stars is because crow really does care about Veronica and was super sweet (he even cuts off his own claws so he doesn’t hurt her - drastic but sweet). Overall this book made me uncomfy. The eggs? No. No thanks. Not a fan. And idk. I guess I’m just not into birds 🤷🏼♀️
Well that was worse than the bucket of the last one. I should have read the review I wasn’t ready for the eggs. That was awful, I wanted to throw my phone so far from me.
This is book five of the Monster Ever After series my first book by this author (yes, I will be reading more from her in fact bought the others in the series) this one reminds me of beauty and the beast with an mix of a couple of other fairytales, each book reads as a standalone with a monster and the human that brings him to his knees. Crow has been cursed for a long time he is losing his humanity, turning into a birdman at night living but not living at the same time, and to help himself feel he has taken it upon himself to be a protector of a sweet girl but what he desires most is loves kiss to turn give him more control over his turning. Veronica is sweet life isn’t/hasn’t been easy living with/through nightmares, an abusive ex, and she has a stalker who protects her ensuring her safety one night he must show her who he is to save her but how will she feel seeing a monster is part of the many questions he is thinking she will be wondering. The moment they meet theirs is an attraction so intense and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored she accepts him as he is but is it enough or is there more to his curse, his girl didn’t see him as a monster to her he was her protector, can they be more than just crow & human girl, and will they find their own HEA?.

I love Layla’s monster romances. She always manages to make them kinky and sweet at the same time. Crow was the brooding protector and Veronica seemed to be sad and delicate, but she just needed some monster action to brighten her life. Loved this smutty novella.
“The urge to push his eggs into her, to fill her belly with them, with his seed, to make her grow big with his children overpowered him, and Crow could only blink down at her, his cock straining with new vigor, new purpose.”
This series is so much fun to read. Crow is probably my favorite book out of all the ones I have read. Crow has been cursed and now is in the form of a bird. Thanks to the help of a witch he is able to shift into a birdman at night but it is very painful. During the day he watches over Veronica, his love. He hates the fact that he can never show himself to her but he is happy to watch over her and protect her. Crow is so terribly sweet and protective and I loved it! Veronica is so touched by Crow and everything he has done for her that she is easily able to overlook his monstrous appearance. These two are such a sweet and spicy pairing. I would suggest this book for those who like short, spicy, monster smut that includes oviposition.
Crow has watched over Veronica for a long time, but being a birdman has hindered him from ever showing himself to her. Until now.
Once again Layla Faye has given another fun, steamy story that makes me question a lot. I wasn't sure how Crow having a literal beak was going to work, but I was not disappointed to find out. I loved how open Veronica was with him and how their story flowed flawlessly.
Crow has been cursed for so long he almost forgot he was once human. With the help of a witch he is living a half life. His only purpose now is protecting Veronica, but who will portect her from him. This story caught my attention from the start the characters are storng and likable. I look forward to reading more by this author.

The moment I cracked open my first Layla Fae story, I knew I was in for it!! And here I am, consuming her books in batches. Monster erotica gets me, because I love weird and supernatural things. Layla's style is witty and fun to read! Crow, was no exception! I loved the protective, bossy, birdman. In summation, I'll read whatever she offers!
Oviposition , who knew would be kind of hot. I have to say I have a soft spot for crow/scarecrow monster romance stories, blame the wizard of oz. This book didn’t disappoint, perhaps could’ve used more world building but for what it was, it was a quick short and spicy read. Don’t look for full length novel or drawn out plot.
I have loved everyone of these little novellas in this series and this one is no different. Did I drop what I was currently reading to read this? Absolutely. Did I enjoy this novella? 100% yes. I recommend this series to all of my friends just getting into Monsters 💖
