Nobody knows the power of three like a Fairfield witch...
Youngest sister Grace Fairfield is the family rebel. Fun-loving, clever, and creative, Grace elevates rebelliousness to an art form, often resulting in chaos in Dark Hollow.
When Grace is assigned her first Hex Support case at a haunted amusement park, she’s thrilled to revisit her beloved stomping grounds from college. Unfortunately, the case involves an employee found dead on an expensive new rollercoaster that's supposed to bring in enough revenue to avoid the park’s closure. Grace needs to act fast. If she can solve the case by Halloween, there's still a chance the new rollercoaster can open in time to save the park from bankruptcy.
There is, however, one teensy complication in the form of Luke Brookstone, an old flame who worked at the park with her during college breaks. Even more distracting, he's human and knows nothing about the magical world. Despite their chemistry, Grace knows that a relationship with a human would be met with disapproval by her witchy ancestors. Then again, when was Grace Fairfield ever one to fall in line?
The clock is ticking on the fate of the amusement park, as well as Grace's reunion with Luke. Can she stop the killer in time to save her beloved park, or will it all go downhill from here?

OK, hear me out here... Grace is both amusing and annoying as heck with her chaotic nature. I both like her and dislike her. I actually mostly like her, but when she's annoying, she's really annoying!
The romance part of the book was a bit on the weaker side in this book, but the romance hasn't exactly been rock solid through out the series. It's fun, but mostly surface deep.
The FBM turning up and reaching out for the youngest Fairfield witch and sending her off to solve a murder on her own felt even more implausible than in book #2. Through out the book, Grace introduces herself as working for the FBI when humans are around, but she's got no badge. No identification. Nothing. And on top of everything, she's in her 20s and sometimes acts younger.
I couldn't suspend enough disbelief to buy it for even a millisecond and this was part of why the glamour and shine of the "Hex Support" really started to fall apart in this book. Calling it "flimsy at best" would be too much praise in terms of how this plot device is rigged and used.
So... Yeah. Don't think about it and you'll be fine!
Also, if you wondered through out book 2 where the heck Palmer went, you actually get to see him briefly in this one, before the end. Same thing with Elizabeth's werewolf. They make an appearance, but that's about it.
All in all though. I had a good time with these books. This third one had a fairground and ghosts and a really good mystery so that was all really nice.
This one was definitely not as good as the first two. It was almost a struggle to finish it. Grace was super annoying and the storyline felt like it just drug on with no end.
I loved that Grace made mistakes and worked to find the truth, that she admitted when she was wrong about her assumptions. I didn’t like how “the family leader” promoted keeping the family “pure,” but I loved how the family reconciled and how Grace helped to promote love. I really enjoyed how Grace is strong willed, and met someone who loves her for herself.
✧ Cozy fantasy with a murder mystery plot ✧ A cute romance ✧ A quick read
⊹˚₊‧₊˚✧ My Thoughts ✧˚₊‧₊˚⊹
⤷ This is the last book in the trilogy, focusing on the youngest Fairfield witch Grace. She gets her own assignment from the Federal Bureau of Magic - solving a murder that occurred in the amusement park she used to work at.
The setting is definitely my favorite of the three books, but the mystery is, again, a bit lacking. They basically give you only one viable suspect and a couple of throwaway characters you're not going to suspect.
I still had a good time with the book - these are just cozy fast audiobooks, and I like them a little light on the plot so I can multitask. This series has been a lot of fun!
This was a lot shorter than the other two books. I feel like the series will continue but they have now done three books about the three sisters so maybe maybe not. This one is about the youngest who is a chaos witch. I was expecting more to go wrong tbh. It was ok, I preferred the others but a short sweet book to listen to between the other longer reads
3.5 - I enjoyed this series... I think this might have been the last book which was a bit of a bummer. I feel like all the relationships were super rushed.
2023 bk 252. This one seemed a little more romancy than the prior books in Hex Support. I did enjoy the mystery elements, really enjoyed the digging into family secrets - and this book did allow Dark Hollow the house to shine more. Worth the read to complete the series - if it is indeed finished....
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. If I’m cast of characters in an entertaining storyline. The Fairfield family of witches live in a mansion on a 75 acre reserve. Their home in land is a sanctuary for animals most of which are familiar‘s who have lost their witches. The three sisters left in the family live in the home to help keep the magic alive. Their magic makes dimension repair itself change and protect them. This is the third book and is focused on the third and youngest sister. The first two books were based around Kit the oldest Elizabeth the middle sister and now the youngest sister is the focus. Read on and follow her adventure as she gets a chance to work for the federal Bureau of magic in there Hicks support team. I’m not sure if this is the last book in the series or the series is going to continue on. Hopefully it is going to continue on in some expanded way or form. It is exceptionally entertaining and fun. Check it out
When Grace is finally assigned to a murder investigation at a Haunted Amusement Park she used to work at every summer, she's thrilled to go. Grace is a Chaos Witch, who's also known as the "Ghost Whisperer." Grace can talk to the spirits, some of her closest friends growing up were ghosts.
The one person she never expected to see again at the park was her high school/college crush, Luke. They both worked at the park during their summer breaks. Grace was crazy about him, but knowing how her ancestors would react about dating a human, she never pushed the relationship.
Luke has no idea that she's a witch. He's an engineer trying to figure out if the roller coaster killed the poor girl or if it was something else.
A great series! I definitely recommend reading all 3 books!
This wrapped up the trilogy quite nicely, its youngest sister Grace’s turn to solve a case for Hex, and she’s off to her old stomping grounds to solve a rather interesting murder. I liked Mr M and Sheila, and old Orville was a sweetie. Luke was a bit blah, but I can overlook that thanks to the ending - there is finally a resolution to the almost non-existent romance that has been floating about for all three books. We learn more about the Fairfield ghosts, and Grace finally gains some confidence in her abilities leading her to stand up to Anastasia. While not your usual romance heavy Paranormal romance mystery, this final book does wrap up all the unanswered sparkage we’ve seen over the trilogy.
I m so sorry to be a hater bc i loved Kits story and then Elizabeths was meh! And now this one uh. I keep waiting for it to pick up but its all ' i fell into his lap and' im so crazy ' but its the ' craziness' and flirting of a 14 year old not a 26 year old and its really just like the first 6 chapters of her eating and wandering around an amusement park. Its like the publisher decided to trilogy but the author wasnt really intersted after Kits story. Just filler. And dont get me wrong.... This girl can write! It just seems like shes not into it. Sorry. Read some of her other books. Theyre good!
It was a tiny bit better than the last one (which isn’t hard), but that’s all I can say for it. This Hex Support had so much potential, but these last two books were terrible. Annabel Chase should keep writing her stories alone. At first I thought this sister will be a bit funkier and funnier. She was, but so over the top, she quickly got unreal and worse not believable and very unsympathetic. And her familiar wasn’t one iota better. I couldn’t wait to get this over with and am looking forward to hopefully read something better - shouldn’t be too hard.
The book felt rushed. I think this story could have extended to 4 or 5 books, to get the whole story. I really loved the second book and wished we could have just stayed with that narrative. But I understand why the author kept switching between the sisters for each book. I did not like the forced romance in all 3 books, it did not feel authentic, it always felt to planned. I do not have a problem with romance, but these books made it to much of a focus and the murder mystery was always set as last.
Better than book 2, but really more of a 3.5 rounded up. To be honest, this whole series feels a bit off. One big story set at the house and having the sisters solving the mystery of the missing rooms and whatnot, and then a series of minor separate mysteries. Unfortunately, the separate mysteries are the ones being given priority when they are the less interesting part. The romances are sidelined and yet given Utmost Importance to the main house mystery. There's a single. Really great story in here that's stretched too thin.
4 Stars I hope this series continues. Book three centers on youngest Fairfield sister, Grace. And Grace is a chaos witch. Knowing that I expected this book to be a lively adventure. I was not wrong.
I appreciate that all three sisters were highlighted in three volumes and they had very distinct personalities. The ending of this book was unexpected, but quite brilliant. I look forward to the next book, if there is one. Book three was a pleasant surprise!
Having read the entire three book series, I can appreciate the family dynamics that sometimes make us crazy. But when it all boils down family is who you can depend on the most. All three sisters with very different powers are challenged with a case for the Hex Support System which Elizabeth had retired from ten years earlier. In a world of both humans and magicals a thin line must often be walked. Can the sisters all do it?
I liked the witches enough to get interested in. The biggest surprise is the power of love that ends up making magic stronger,. Not a great book, but a fun little witch mystery series that is super for late night reading, or sick in the bed reading that cheers and makes them feel the worst problems can be solved!
The conclusion to the Hex Support Mysteries was so cute! I really enjoyed Grace. I didn't realize I would like her character so much. As with the other two books, this one is fast-paced, and it really moves along the Fairfield story as well! It's a good conclusion. I hope there are more books in this universe with these sisters because they're easily one of my favorites.
This was not the worst book ever, but it was just, I don't even know. For such a short audiobook (6 hours) they packed in so many random, unneeded conversations and details, cliques, and the dreaded over-reaching perfection everyone is happy ending. The first book was cute, second was similar to this and this was just, no.
I’m glad we saw the chaos witch in action. We always saw her from everyone else’s POV. In essence it seemed like she was the problem child and really she was just misunderstood. This showed how useful and acknowledged she really wanted to be with everyone including her sisters. This was a genuinely wonderful ending to the sister’s book.
I have thoroughly enjoyed these books by Annabel Chase and Tana Grey, as an avid fan of AC I wanted to read these books anyway but there was a certain, je ne sais quoi, that gives the stories an edge. I strongly recommend a good read.
This series isn't like Annabel's usual work. I've never read any of Tana's work so perhaps this is her influence? No matter, this series was good and a pleasure to read. Brava to you both.
Grace finally has a chance to leave Dark Hallow. As a probationary Hex agent, Grace is sent to a Haunted Amusement Park to solve a murder. Interesting characters and humor. No cliffhanger and hea. Wonderful series.
At first I was not really impressed with the books but as I continued to read them I was surprised and amazed by how much I enjoyed reading them! Congratulations on a great series!
Wonderful mystery and a great story filled with plenty of excitement, surprises, suspense, danger and lots of love. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys reading about magic and and a great exciting mystery.
to a good series. Liked the characters, the house, and the portraits. Sorry to see to them go. The mystery was kind of weak, and I guessed who the was the villain right away, but still I liked it.
I rounded up to 4 stars on this one. I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as the previous two in the series, but I appreciated that the author wrapped the series up and settled some overarching issues with this book.
