Agire e pensare come Coco Chanel
Coco Chanel. Ha meghalljuk ezt a négy szótagot, azonnal a női divat és Párizs jut eszünkbe. Coco, eredeti nevén Gabrielle Chasnel több volt mint zseniális divattervező: kétség sem fér hozzá, ő volt a világtörténelem első influenszere. 🗼Când vine vorba despre non-ficțiune (un gen nu tocmai pe placul meu), îmi place să optez pentru cărțile cu puține pagini, lejere, care să mă binedispună. În aceste categorii s-a încadrat și cartea de față, la care mi-am dorit să ajung chiar de anul trecut. A fost o lectură cât se poate de relaxantă, care m-a făcut să visez la tot ce a însemnat Parisul de altădată: accesorii, vestimentație, culoare și rafinament. Coco Chanel mi-a plăcut dintotdeauna și mă bucur că datorită acestui „ghid” am mai descoperit o mică parte din personalitatea ei.
🗼Ce mi-a plăcut:
- personajul, despre care am aflat multe lucruri neștiute: îi plăcea să creeze confuzie, dezvoltase pasiunea pentru sport, se ghida de fiecare dată după intuiție, găsise în cifra 5 un simbol pentru creațiile sale;
- a fost o lectură lejeră, pe care am parcurs-o în câteva ore;
- cartea ne prezintă și aspectele din spatele imaginii pe care Coco Chanel și-a creat-o;
- deși structura acestei cărți a fost un pic diferită față de restul pe care le-am citit din această colecție, acest detaliu nu m-a deranjat. Ba din contră, modul cum a fost concepută a ajutat la creionarea ideilor despre colecțiile sale, despre cum a luat naștere celebrul parfum „Chanel no. 5”, precum și despre ce a însemnat pentru acea perioadă renumita rochie „Little Black Dress”.
🗼Ce nu mi-a plăcut:
- paginile cu sfaturi (mi s-a părut că sunt aceleași sfaturi/recomandări pe care toată lumea le oferă. Nu a fost ceva nou, ceva despre care să nu fi auzit măcar o dată în viață);
- pe alocuri, am simțit povestea a fi ușor grăbită. Simțeam nevoia de mai multe detalii despre trecutul ei, despre ce a însemnat pentru oameni fenomenul „Coco Chanel”, cum a devenit un model de urmat etc;
- mi-ar fi plăcut ca la fiecare sfârșit de capitol să am câte o mică activitate. În majoritatea cazurilor, ele ajută la înțelegerea mai bine a subiectului.
🗼Din punctul meu de vedere, nu a fost cea mai bună carte din colecție, însă este una din care am avut ceva de învățat.

This book is so poorly formatted that I didn’t even understand what genre I’m reading. Is it a biography? Is a self help? What is it?
Time jumps and stories that make no sense next to each other. I don’t feel like a know something new about Chanel herself and I definitely don’t feel inspired.

Ne znam nakon ove knjige tko bi htio biti kao CC. Zajedljiva žena koja je pricala lazi o sebi i stvarala mit o sebi. Sigurna sam da ima boljih knjiga o njezinom zivotu i koje su zanimljive. Ovdje je sve puno rupa. Vremensko skakutanje, ponavljanje situacija. Biografija - valjda, al prepuno rupa i pravog konteksta. Stvaranje poslovnog carstva isto je s brda dola. Self help - najveci promasaj.
Ne znam kako se self help ovdje uopce uklapa. Toliko prodavanje magle da su me oci zabolile od kolutanja.
Samo da docaram:
- Dio iz zivota CC koji moze glasiti nisam htjela otkriti pravu istinu o ocu (napustio ih je) pa sam rekla da je otisao u Ameriku.
- Povijest stvaranja parfema
- Neka godina i neka revija
- Self help o stvaranju slike o sebi nesto u stilu budite samouvjereni

I shall make this a little longer and more detailed than usual as I am the first review.
I very much enjoyed this little book. It is quick read and each chapter is divided into little sections. As I described “How to be Parisian wherever you are” (one of my favourite books so this is not a criticism) it is a glorified coffee table book. It is something that you can dip in and out of and do not need to read in one go. It gives a decent amount of good information about the life of Coco Chanel and compliments “Chanel’s Riviera” by Anne de Courcy that I have also read recently. It’s not necessarily written in a highly sophisticated manner (there is a fair amount of repetition and the book bounces about chronologically) however, it is a very enjoyable easy read. There is a lovely quote at the start of each chapter which I found to be a nice feature. As can be heavily inferred by the title, this book explores different aspects of Chanel’s life and then gives little tips as to how you can be more like her. It’s a bit of fun with some good information however it is not a serious historical exploration… this would be a good for a gift for someone who is interested in the life of Chanel whether they are a big reader or not.
Below I have listed some of the topics and little titbits the book explores to give you a feel for the content…
* Chanel always had a Cigarette on the go- “éternelle cigarette aux lèvres”.
* When Chanel left her room at the Ritz the hotel staff telephoned ahead to her boutique, on the Rue Cambon, to warn that Mademoiselle was on her way so that they could prepare for her arrival; this included the staff lining up like soldiers and spraying Chanel No.5 at the door so she could walk in through a cloud of her own perfume.
* Chanel had an affinity with the number 5 “Je présente ma collection de robes le 5 du mois de mai, le cinquième mois de l’année, nous lui laisserons donc le numéro qu’il porte et ce numéro cinq lui portera bonheur”. She was highly superstitious and would regularly have her tarot cards read.
* She was a mischievous diva who would always lie about her age.
* During the war she had a relationship with the Nazi Von Dincklage.
* Her love life was extremely complex and unhappy; following the death of her lover Boy Capel she would never truly love again.
* Her mother died when she was a child and her father left her in an orphanage / convent never to return, although Chanel would remain eternally hopeful that her father was coming back for her.
* She heavily criticised women however, sought to emancipate them through her clothing. Following being leant a man’s jumper at a polo match she decided that she wanted the comfort she felt whilst wearing that article to be available to women.
* La Pausa was Chanel’s only true home situated between Menton and Monaco where she would entertain well-known guests such as Cocteau, Picasso, Churchill and Dali.
* Chanel did not like Christian Dior as after she had emancipated women through comfortable to wear clothing he put them back into corsets.
* She’s used material that had previously been reserved for men’s undergarments.
* She did not like the family that she did have (her aunts) and thought about suicide as a child.
* Chanel loved to read.
* Katherine Hepburn stared in a musical about Chanel in 1969.

Bij het zien van de schitterende cover van Doe en denk als Coco Chanel van Aurélie Godefroy weet je meteen waar het boek over zal gaan. Ook al ken je de vrouw op de cover niet, dan zal haar beroemde parfum en handtas wel bekend voorkomen. Voor diegenen die nu roepen dat een sigaret in de mond vandaag de dag echt niet meer kan, plaats de foto in het tijdsbeeld. Toen de foto indertijd werd genomen, was dat heel normaal en dacht men er niet zoveel of helemaal niet aan dat roken ongezond was. Het is mooi dat men ervoor heeft gekozen om voor de originele cover te gaan, het is alleen jammer dat men de Eiffeltoren er dan ook niet bij op heeft gezet. Dat is toch een gemis als je de originele cover hebt gezien. Niet alleen van buiten is de cover schitterend, ook van binnen is het boek heel erg mooi vormgegeven met gouden kleur en diverse tekeningen. De titel spreekt voor zichzelf, je weet meteen wat je te wachten staat. De subtitel geeft precies weer hoe Coco Chanel was.

În loc să te enervezi, fă mental câțiva pași înapoi și concentrează-ți atenția pe câteva respirații profunde. De asemenea, poți să frecventezi mai rar persoanele pe care le consideri nocive și chiar să nu te mai întâlnești deloc cu ele. Trebuie să știi cum să te distanțezi, fizic și psihologic. Emoțiile tind să ne întunece judecata. Fiind prea implicați într-o situație, riscăm să nu mai vedem lucrurile clar. Toate cele spuse pot să fie valabile și în cazul propriei familii, La fel ca în cazul lui Coco. Termenul de familie disfuncțională reflectă confuzia și uneori disperarea. Eliberarea se manifestă adesea prin distanțare fizică, din dorința de a incepe să îți dorești să îți trăiești viața independent. În realitate însă,nu este întotdeauna asa de simplu. Modul în care ai fost educat își pune aprenta asupra tuturor aspectelor vieții. De la imaginea de sine la relațiile interpersonale, viziunea despre lume si chiar alegerile pe care le faci în carieră. Totuși să nu fim fataliști. Nu înseamnă că trebuie să te lași influențat de ceea ce ai trăit în trecut. Poți să schimbi direcția. Pentru asta este necesar să te vindeci, astfel încât să Dobândești încrederea de care ai nevoie, ca să te eliberezi de ceea ce te ține pe loc, și să ieși în sfârșit din ciclul disfuncțional. Trebuie să identifici disfuncționalitățile din familie. Să conștientizezi rolul co-dependent pe care l-ai jucat și pe care poate încă il joci. Să indentifici și să te confrunți cu sursele de negare. Să te reconectezi la copilul interior. Să impui și să menții limite benefice. Să ierți. Să accepți prezentul. Să înțelegi ce înseamnă să devi părintele propriilor părinți și cum să pui în practică această tehnică. Acest parcurs, care poate fi unul de durată, cere conștientizare, compasiune și implicare. Adevărata vindecare se produce pe măsură ce îți îndrepți atenția către interiorul propriei ființe. Mai ales către zonele de umbră.”

Sajnos az Élj úgy, mint Coco Chanellel sem vagyok maradéktalanul elégedett. Noha ez a könyvecske azért tartogat érdekes információkat Coco Chanelről, az életmód vonal itt is viszonylag gyenge. Vagy legalábbis nekem, aki sok pszichológia / önfejlesztő könyvet olvas. Még úgy is, hogy 160 oldalban nem lehet megváltani a világot, és inkább kis színesként tudom jellemezni a kiadványt.
Általános iskolás korú gyermekek lehetnek itt is a célközönség (ám ez sehol sincs feltüntetve), felnőtteknek, főleg olvasó felnőtteknek nem igazán tud sokat adni, legalábbis nekem nem tudott. Számomra az egyetlen pozitívuma a könyvnek, hogy Coco Chanel életét tisztességesen bemutatja a terjedelemhez mérten.

Книгата не е лоша, има добри попадения, понеже животът и нещата, които създава Коко Шанел са забележителни, но като цяло книгата е доста семпла, повърхностна и хаотична, не описва последователно събитията в живота на Шанел. Има много по-добри и задълбочени нейни биографии.

There were a lot of hard words in it in the beginning. Wich made it sometimes hard to understand but in the end I loved it.
