Fresh produce isn’t the only thing that grows at the lottie.
Felicity Donaldson loved her life just fine. Working from home with human contact kept to a minimum. Perfect. When she takes over her aunt’s plot at the local allotment, her life becomes complicated. One person in particular seems able to press all her buttons… and not the good kind. Luke King enjoys his time spent at the allotment. It takes him away from his boring job and lets him have the freedom he needs. He always thought of himself as a pretty laidback kind of guy… until a fiery redhead appears on the scene. Her snarky demeanour only makes him want to push her more. When things turn from loathing to lust, will it be just a fling, or will it grow like the produce into something more satisfying?
My mum read to me from an early age and encouraged me to write my own stories. She was positive I could become a published author. Unfortunately she passed before she could see my dream come true. I still miss her love and friendship. It was the catalyst for me to start writing seriously.
I write paranormal and contemporary romances and romantic comedy.
When I'm not writing I enjoy reading, cinema, live gigs, theatre, keeping fit, travel, Formula One, darts and spending quality time with friends.
Another fun, lighthearted read by the lovely Toya Richadson. I loved the cover, it instantly drew me in. This author never fails to deliver a lovely story. Fliss and Luke are a match made in heaven once they get passed their dislike for one another and mud...don't ask, you list read to find out.🤣 I loved the lighthearted simplicity of the story. It's a quick and easy read. It's a must read for any Rom-Com fan.
This is my 3rd book that I have read by the lovely Toya. I enjoyed this one so much and liked the fact it was pretty different as it mainly takes place at an allotment. Fliss and Luke were just adorable and made me laugh at times especially with how they meet! The secondary characters were brilliant particularly Dolly and Toby. This was just such a light-hearted and fun read and definitely recommend it.
I don't think I've ever read a bad Toya Richardson book and everytime there is a new release I say this one is my favourite! This is no exception.
This book has so many wonderful things but I loved the simplicity of the story and the fact that it was so easy to read. Add to that a cast of amazing characters, a real community feel and a little steam and we are definitely cooking with gas!
Both main characters have history and were not looking to meet or get together with anyone. I think they personally took each other both by complete surprise. It's not often that I like the female main character over the male but I loved Felicity's feisty side although at times I was like chill out. The cast of side characters had loads of personality and were a big part of the story as well. The sense of community between them all felt so very real and it was almost like sitting here watching it happen when I was reading it. The ending was also one of those moments when you have a huge happy sigh!
All in all, if you want something that is a little different to the norm, sweet, simple, not complicated and easy to read, then run and grab this.
This woman was an enigma. Like with my number-crunching, I loved to solve a puzzle. Perhaps I’d eventually get to the bottom of her story.
Settle yourself in the garden and put your feet up as you enjoy this summer breeze of a story. There seems to be more than just veg growing down in the allotment, with the buzz of the bees and some tender loving care to stop any weeds from spoiling the new roots…fun, romance and self discovery is starting to bloom.
This was a perfect quick read, with colourful characters popping up and a blossoming new budding romance between Luke & Fliss! Although there are a few muddy patches however, slowly but surely these two grow in strength and learn to trust each other.
“Oh, God. What are you doing to me?”
“I can’t seem to help myself around you, Red. You’re so fucking sexy it hurts. Look what you’ve done to me.”
This is refreshingly different, has it's funny moments as well as firework ones. It's an interesting idea being based around an allotment, and some fabulous characters. There is the romantic aspect right along with two characters entrusting of relationships due to their pasts. I loved Toby and Aunt Doll as the voices of reason for both, the friendship the two shared as well. The ending, after the way things started was marvellous and the changes suited both Luke and Fliss. The community spirit of all on the Lottie was just what I'd expect from lovers of growing whatever in this environment. It isn't to heavy, or to full of sex, it has a base story for both and is a nice easy read. One I could easily soak up and enjoy, loved it
Luke King at his allotment. Felicity Donaldson is looking after her aunt Dolly's plot while she recovers from a hip operation and all the gardens were told to keep and eye on her niece. Mr Hotness and Red, could this be the start of love at the lottie? Getting physical with all the digging? First enemies, then friends, that stolen kiss in the shed, lead to their bodies burning for each other, this is getting hot hot hot. the book gave me the flutters, with the community of the gardeners and fruit and veg with a whole lot of wholesome goodness of love. I loved it it get's my five stars.
A great story about love, hurt, trust and friendship. The Lottie is a real community allotments. Young and Old all work side by side growing their vegetables and flowers. I was hooked on the story of Luke and Felicity from page one. Hate, friendship and then love are muddled together for this couple. Aunt Doll and Toby are there like a pair of wise old owls to depart their wisdom on the pair of them. Will they be able to put their pasts behind them to be able to sort out a new relationship with each other. A well deserved five star read.
A quick but fun read. It's an enemies to friends to more, kind of small town romance.
Felicity and Luke's first meeting definitely could have gone better - falling over in a puddle and using the absolute wrong nickname wasn't the best start. They try to stay out of the way of each other but the lottie brings them together.
Great characters and story. A perfect read for a lazy afternoon in the sun.
So Luke is one for keeping to himself, jilted he doesn't want another woman. Fliss had a bad relationship and now has decided people aren't her thing. Can the lottie bring them together? Never read a bad Toya book and it seems I never will. This is a great read for those that want a funny romatic read. She is so proud of you! Keep going T xx
I love the good feeling this author gives me when I read her stories.
Felicity is a firecracker and Luke loves to ignite the spark from their very first meeting. What follows is a love story that neither of them saw coming.
Great characters, great setting...would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a quick romance while enjoying your garden this summer.
I really wanted to like this one! Unfortunately I didn't.
For whatever reason, it didn't work for me. Lots of others enjoyed it, so I'm a little bummed that I might have missed something good, but by chapter two, I knew I was done. ☹
This is such a fantastic summer feel good story. Toya has a knack for creating such lovable characters that you can relate to. Both characters have a past and aren't looking for anything new but the chemistry starts between them straight away, yes it may be hate at first but that soon changes! Grab this book now and enjoy a perfect summer read!
