A fae on a mission to protect his people.
A human girl on the brink of death.

With a sentient tail and cat-like eyes, Gulliver O’Shea has always been different, and everyone can see it. Except for his best friend, the queen of Iskalt. She treats him like he matters. So, when she says jump, he flies. And when she asks him to travel through a portal to a strange human city and gather information on a dangerous group attacking fae, he… reluctantly realizes he has no choice.
He just didn’t expect he would have to bring along a sullen Toby—lost after the death of his intended—or that New Orleans would be so much more frightening than the small human farm he was used to visiting.
Gulliver’s obsession with everything human brings him face to face with a girl unlike any he’s ever met before. Sophie-Ann Devereaux. She’s kind and clumsy and… sick. So sick he knows her frail human body won’t last much longer.
The closer he gets to the humans behind the fae attacks, the more he realizes what he’s done. He’s failed Tia. Lost his mission. Become as useless as he always feared he was. Because the waitress, the one fading from this world, isn’t just a random human girl. Her father is the man Gullie was sent to find. Together with his second in command, they intend to erase the fae from their world. And they’ll resort to any means necessary to see it done.

From an accidental carjacking to an unhealthy obsession with beignets and cute human girls with blue hair, Gulliver embarks on an adventure of a lifetime in Fae’s Envoy.

Melissa A. Craven (the "A" stands for Ann—in case you were wondering) was born near Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of seventeen. She still thinks of Cleveland as home, so it was only natural for Emerge to take place there.
Today, she is back in Atlanta—for some reason she can't seem to stay away from the ungodly heat that makes her long for things like "lake effect snow" and wind that will knock you flat.
Melissa decided a long time ago that the “life checklist” everyone else was clutching so tightly in their fists, just wasn’t for her. She does everything backwards because she is weird like that, but then, she is an artist and artists are notoriously "unique" and "quirky."
She is an avid student of art and design, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of West Georgia in 2009. She worked as an interior designer for several years, but she's always thought she might like to be a writer when she grows up.
In her spare time, if she has any, she enjoys shopping for derelict furniture she refinishes to exercise the interior design part of her brain.

Queen Tierney of Iskalt has received troublesome news from the human world: someone is attacking and killing the fae that live there. She needs more information to be able to persuade the other royals in the fae realm that they need to do something to protect their own. The only one she trusts with this mission is Gulliver. To his horror and dismay Gullie soon finds himself in New Orleans, with very little knowledge of the human world. Tia has also sent her twin Toby with him, in an attempt to pull him out of his grief after Logan's death. When Gullie meets Sophie-Ann, a blue-haired waitress, he immidiately falls for her. The problem is that it's her father that's responsible for attacking the fae...

I love Gullie, but I feel a bit stressed out when he's among humans and doesn't really know how things work.

"Mrs. Merrick told me to look for a yellow car when we got here. Apparently, they'll let us use plastic money and take us to the adress Tia gave us."

Sometimes it gets comical, and sometimes I just wanna shout "NO!" and wish they were back in the fae realm.

We get both Gullie's and Sophie's POV's, but I still think it takes quite long before I get to know Sophie. She's obviously sick, but how remains a mystery for a long time. Her father seems to be in denial and doesn't want anyone to know about her terminal illness. She's supposed to take over HAFS, the Human Alliance For Survival, a cult whose primary goal is to annihilate all fae. Sophie hates fae, since they caused her mother's death, but she has a hard time coping with the indiscriminate killing. Her father doesn't care if some humans also get killed. I get some racist vibes, because it could easily be about the annihilation of Jews.

In the end of the book Gullie is back in the fae realm, and I almost sigh with relief. Apparently, I now feel more at home among the fae than with humans!

Oh Sweet Gullie. Love how clueless he is and in the human world it just shows more. We also get to see a little of Toby and how he is doing when Tia sends him with Gulliver to figure out who is killing fae in the human world. Huge cliffhanger.

Fae's Envoy

I loved that Guiller was getting his own book. He's such a fun and interesting character but with this book I'm having a hard time seeing him as an adult. He reads like a teenager around the age of 14 or so. He doesn't have the mentality of an adult. I loved our new main character Sophie-Ann. I however wish we could get to see her hobbies or just anything other than her working. I would have liked to see more signs of her illness. I absolutely hated Gabe and really don't like him as a character. He's got nothing good about him and the way he treats Sophie is horrible, especially him claiming to want to marry her. I didn't like how we kinda brushed over the sun disappearing in the human world. I feel like we would have known about it before from Myles' human family way before they had gone to New Orleans. While it was mentioned by Sophie it didn't go into much detail. I really liked seeing previous characters and how their lives are going behind the scenes. I however didn't enjoy the ending of this book. It was too out of nowhere and it ended so quickly that the book doesn't feel finished; it feels like it's half a book. Usually I love these authors' cliffhangers but this one felt more like the climax in a book rather than the ending of it. While I didn't enjoy this book as much because of it I think it still does a good job of getting others to read the book and find out what is happening to Toby.

Fae's Envoy

Gifted with his dark fae magic, Gulliver is sent by Tia to the human world to investigate rumors of humans attacking fae. But with this mission, Tia also tasked him to try and help Toby heal his heartbreak. With Toby despondent, Gulliver sets off on his own, exploring New Orleans. His rumbling stomach leads him to a diner and Sophie-Ann.

Book 10 in the Queens of the Fae series, is all about Gully and his attempt at doing whatever Tia, his best friend, and Queen, asks him to do, including going into the human world where he has limited knowledge.

It's a quick read, and with Gully's limited knowledge of the human world, he finds himself in interesting situations as he misunderstands the humans and their 'magic'.

Gulliver has been a favorite character of mine, and it was nice to see him becoming independent. It bothers me how much Tia, his 'best friend' and 'sister' takes advantage of him. I really hope he becomes more of his own person and less of Tia's gofer in the next books of the series. She seriously takes major advantage of his friendship, bordering on abuse at times.

I couldn’t help myself, I had to know more about what went on next in the adventures of fae world. I’m so pleased they brought Gulliver back for more!

Tierney fought to save the fae world from the fire plains taking over. Now, the humans are killing fae in the human realm. Who else would she trust to send besides her best friend that has been by her side through every dangerous situation that they embarked on. Not wanting to send him alone, she sent Toby along with him to help him. Their mission, find more information out to prevent the death of innocent people, fae and human alike.

Sophie-Ann is the daughter of the man that is the head of an organization made to find and kill fae. Being forced into being a waitress at a cafe wasn’t on her list of goals in life, especially when she’s having a difficult time. Her mom died from a fae attack, making her hate the fae.

I loved every second of this book! I couldn’t help but fall more in love with Gulliver’s character. I’m so happy that he has found someone to truly care and love. I really wish I could read more than just the one story since it’s probably a trilogy also but till next time! And that ending, you are going to flip a lid when you read it. I know I emotioned hardcore.

Gullie's adventure...

Firstly.... If you've never read any of the previous books in this series you may be a bit confused by events and characters within. I strongly recommend reading the BRILLIANT books that proceed this exciting adventure.

Get ready for a full on Gullie-centric read.... Yay!!!! He is sent by his Queen/BFF Tia on a very important mission to Earth after they learn fae and half fae are being killed by humans. She sends both he and Toby on a fact finding mission. Sounds simple enough right...since they have *some* understanding of human slang- and Gullie at least has visited Earth a few times before. Easier said than done hehe. Toby is still mourning the loss of his love, and is not quite the man we knew him to be. The danger is real when they land on earth, yet Toby and Gullie don't really know just how immediate. Be prepared to feel all the feels in this epic read!!! We see Gullie like never before...he starts to really come into his own, and I can't wait to see where his character goes in the next book. Just be prepared....there's a MASSIVE cliffhanger. I have loved each and every book in this series, and this was no exception. I could not put this book down. I highly recommend reading this!

Now that the fae world is coming together, Tia's heart reaches out to those who are hunted and persecuted on the other side - in the human realm. With the fae rulers opposing the mission, taking caution and protecting the fae kingdoms first, there is only a little hope to get information and take action - and so Gulliver and Toby are sent to investigate and collect intel. In the human world, the two are thoroughly unprepared and standing out, and it is only a strike of destiny that Gullie takes liking in a fragile, sweet human girl, Sophie Ann - a dying flower who might be the key to everything.
Finally, sweet and odd and innocent Gulliver gets his own story, and it is exactly as one can expect. Adventurous, full of naivety and cute optimism, hilarious moments, but also showcasing his quiet strength and deep loyalty. Gullie is a great counterweight to moping, heartbroken Toby, and the chemistry between him and Sophie Ann blossoms in a dangerous situation. The suspense escalates until the last page, and after the shocks delivered to Sophie and Toby, now I am curious how the plotline will develop further.

Troubling news has reached Iskalt and Queen Tierney is convinced they must do something about it, even if the rest of the Royals are hesitant to get involved. Someone is targeting and killing Fae in the human realm. So who better to rely on for help than the only one she fully trusts, her best friend, Gulliver? On top of making him a council member, Tia sends Gullie with her grieving brother to New Orleans, Louisiana for more information to convince the other royals to help. While Gullie gets to know the city without being discovered as Fae he meets a human, Sophie-Ann, and falls in love with her. The trouble is, her father is the one targeting the Fae.

I always enjoy going back to Iskalt, but going to the human realm with Gulliver is.... stressful to say the least. Especially when they're supposed to be discreet about their heritage. I enjoyed the new character of Sophie-Ann, but the rest of the humans we encounter are remarkably annoying and frustrating. There are some comical bits, especially with how dense Sophie kind of is considering who her father is. I don't know how much louder Gullie could scream Fae without admitting he's Fae. I look forward to the second installment of Gulliver's story and seeing what kind of trouble Toby has gotten himself into.

I was quite sad starting this book. I feared it would be the ast adventure with these fabulous characters. However, nearing the end of the tale it became obvious the story would continue. So even if this is your first venture, there's much more to come!

Gulliver is one of my very favorite characters. Now he's off on an adventure his own. Feeling inadequate and adrift in the human realm, can Gullie complete this mission for Queen Tia?

Gullie has been a favorite of mine since he first entered the picture. His sense of humor rivals that of Miles, which of course is fantastic. Sophie Ann is just as sweet at a beignet. The quick protectiveness that Gullie has for her is just enduring. The book was a great start to his own story and I know it will lead to many trials head for them both.

All I can say is that Gully must be protected at all costs! Tobey needs to get his shit together and be nice to sweet Gully because all he wants to do is help. Mixed feeling on Gully falling for Sophie because of who her father is but I guess that’s the whole plot here so we will see where that goes. As of now I don’t like Sophie but things may change!

This is book 10 of the series and was another lull to the storyline.

Tia gets word that the humans are hurting Fae so she sends Gully and Toby to earth realm to get answers and hopefully find a solution. However this story is very anticlimactic. Nothing is happening in a way that gives Gully any answers and Toby (while understandably is grieving) just seems like a royal brat.

A new character is introduced that I enjoy and also feel bad for. She is dying of Cancer and yet has a father that doesn't quite treat her right. Gully and her meet and both enjoy each others company.

I hope this part of the series gets better as the books go on just as the other books did. The beginnings of new problems or parts just don't seem to go over as smoothly as I would hope.
