The title of this book sounds as if is a “how-to” guide to doing genealogy, but instead it is a collection of stories by fellow genealogists of their discoveries by serendipity or by helpful, cooperative strangers, many of whom were in the right place at the right time with the right clues or facts. Anyone who is into genealogy has had these kinds of experiences, including me. I read this some years ago, and re-reading it still inspires me to go on with my research.
