My Love: Bobby & Sophie

Rate this book
Do you believe that opposites attract? Well, Bobby and Sophie Sloan sure put that theory to the test…

As the youngest of the Sloan boys, Bobby never said much. But when it came to wife, he was always quick to express his love and devotion. Sophie’s lovable, animated soul complemented his strong, silent demeanor perfectly.

Together, Sophie and Bobby were a match made in heaven. Their uncomplicated marriage was full love, trust, and unconditional support. But when life-altering news threatens to change the simplicity of their lives, only they will be able to decide if they can accept this new change with love, or with fear and doubt.

Finally see inside the love that first welcomed us into Harper’s Crossing…

My Love…my love…my love…my love…keeps me warm!!!!

I don’t think there can ever be two people more polar opposites than Bobby Sloan and Sophie. Youngest of the Sloan boys, Bobby’s always been the quiet one, never saying much, but always supportive of his family. Love for his family puts his desires on the back burner, with no questions asked. But now the chance to be and become what he had always had a passion for, presents itself and he grabs it, with full encouragement from his family, and a news that he wants to surprise his wife with.

Sophie is the talkative, full of life wife that Bobby loves to the end of this earth. She is the lovable, animated woman that loves her husband with a passion and complements his quite demeanor. They are a perfect match made in heaven, leading an uncomplicated life with love, trust and unconditional support of each other. But now Sophie’s discovered some unexpected news, which would change the lives of everyone concerned.

Three years after marriage, and still feeling like newly weds, their love and passion is off the charts, with Bobby being vocal with action, and Sophie matching his desires act to act. But with big bolts of surprises coming in small doses, it’s up to them to accept this life altering change with love and understanding, and have enough faith in each other to overcome fears and doubts.

No matter how many times I read…re-read, the Crossroad Series is one of those quintessential compilation of stories I can never ever get tired of. And the Sloans and Harper’s Crossing are forever going to be etched as my top favorites.

A charming and nostalgic novella perfectly timed for the holidays!

I'm so glad this series isn't over. YES! It's that good. As for this book, it was HOT HOT HOT! There's a scene when they are both in the car and Bobby is driving....HOLY SMOKES! My favorite from the past series has been Jason and Alex, after reading Bobby's story I think he's in my list as well. We met Bobby and Sophie in "My First Love" that book is actually about Jason and Katie. Bobby and Sophie are in it because they are getting married. So this book takes place 3 years after the marriage and it talks about how they met and fell in love. I think it's pretty cool that Melanie decided to take this approach with this storyline instead of how they started off. I actually love it because I get updates on the previous characters. It's like the story never end! Especially when it's a good series, I don't want it to end. Since this book is 3 years into the marriage it takes the characters on how they deal with married life and curve ball decisions. How they handle being individuals and yet try to balance a partnership. I loved how in the end they were both struggling to find a middle ground in their marriage. I just absolutely adored this book. In the this book there is TWO BIG SURPRISE'S. One of the them had my mouth wide open! I was yelled out "Didn't see that one coming at all". What a sneaky surprise Melanie Shawn threw in the book. I'm seriously dying to know how and when she will develop that into a storyline. I highly recommend this series. You can read the books as a stand alone, since Melanie is so good at give snippets of who's who. In my opinion just read the whole series and just enjoy the HOTNESS of the Sloan Family.

A wonderful new holiday novella from Melanie Shawn. Bobby and Sophie have been in love with each other since they were little kids, and even if it did take them a decade or so to figure it out they are now happily married and even more in love. So when life decides to shake things up in their little love filled world, it leaves Sophie feeling a little queasy. Life doesn't always follow the path you expect it to and when Bobby tells Sophie his big surprise, she's shocked, little does he know she's got a surprise of her own for him! As they face their fears together will their love grow even stronger? Read 'My Love' to find out!

HOT is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this book !! It grabs your attention on the first page and holds it through the whole book. I have read all the books in the crossroad series and I thought that each lead male character was very sexy and hot but Bobby put them all to shame. He had it in spades !! The only thing that disappointed me about this book was that it wasn't longer. I would have liked to have gotten to know Bobby and Sophie a little bit better. I would recommend you give this book a read. It is a quick, hot read that will not disappoint you.

This story was absolutely wonderful! I particularly enjoyed the fact that we finally got to know Sophie and Bobby at long last, and what a revelation they proved to be! I honestly didn't think anything could make me melt the way that Jason and Katie did in My First, but Sophie and Bobby managed it! I loved the fact that whilst they adore each other they're also passionately in lust and genuinely seem to enjoy one another as people! That they've known each other almost their whole lives is never in doubt, there's a confidence in the way they're written that convinces you of that (and that type of relationship is something that very few authors seem able to write convincingly - it's a pet peeve of mine!) So once again I can't praise the writing duo enough for another wonderful instalment in this series!

Just when I think I can't love these characters any more than I already do, Melanie Shawn surprises me with a sexy hot read like My Love. Bobby and Sophie are already together when this whole series started so, we only get glimpses of them through each book. In this short but intense story we see that Bobby is so much more than we thought, and the way he loves his wife is just oh-my-god amazing. So naturally, when he sees her acting a bit strange, he worries and takes care of her. Little does he know that she has a bit of a secret that she is a bit scared to share, especially since they agreed on the subject when getting married...

Lots of love, cuteness and sexy scenes in this novella - a total must read for Crossroads series fans!

What I liked most of this book is that it shows that a perfect couple is perfect because they decide to be that way, not because that they are by themselves. Sophie has a new challenging job that she loves, Bobby has a steady and safe job in his family business. Then Bobby decides to take his dream job and they got pregnant, when they swore and agreed that they will never became parents. Their love accepted and conquered all, even an unexpected child.

My Love - Bobby & Sophie by Melanie Shawn was one red hot scorching read with so much heat between the characters with equal amounts of tenderness that draws the reader into Sophie and Bobby's story. Another magnificent addition to The Crossroads Series.

This was a short story but still had all of the qualities I liked in the rest of the series. It was sweet and passionate. I loved Bobby's reaction considering he wasn't planning on having kids.

I was also so excited to see at the end that there were more books to come. So excited!!!i love the series!

Swooning over Bobby

Sweet little update on one of my favorite couples. Sophie surprise had me on the edge of my seat and Bobby's reaction was perfection. The interaction between Bobby and Sophie is what drew me in. Honesty and respect between them seals it. More please.

Sophie and Bobby start out this novella planning to go away for a little Christmas weekend away right before the holiday. Sophie is having a life changing moment that totally freaks her out. Bobby makes a life altering decision about his career and both of them spend the weekend trying to make sense out of the changes in the other one. When Sophie learns of Bobby's career change, she chickens out of telling him her news. Bobby knows something is up but cannot seem to figure out what it is. When he learns of the news he handles it way better than Sophie figured her would. It was nicely done and had a good ending. First book I have read by Melanie Shawn but it won't be my last.

Holy amazing! I love that we got to know Bobby and Sophie's relationship better. I loved how we got to see a "new" side of Bobby emerge and see both of them so happy with the little curve in the road. We only got one scen with Grandpa J but damn that guy steals it. I love him!

This is a well written little novella that pretty much closes the portion of this series that focuses on the Sloane family. We first met Bobby and Sophie in the first book in the series, "My First" which told the story of Jason, Bobby's older brother and Katie, Sophie's pseudo big sister/BFF. Jason and Katie were reunited preparing to serve as best man and maid of honor respectively for Bobby and Sophie's wedding. While we got to meet Sophie as a bubbly, much in love young bride and Bobby as the stoic, quiet young groom we really didn't get to know either of them very well. In this book we learn a little more about their backstory, how they came to be a couple, and their current relationship three years into their marriage. Bobby and Sophie both have big news to share with one another over their planned weekend get-away to Chicago during the Christmas holidays. Sophie's news is bigger and more shocking than Bobby's and she worries about how to tell him. We get to briefly see again a few of the characters we've come to know in this series, a surprise romance and Grampa J once again saves the day with his words of wisdom. Just a nice, sweet, sexy, short Christmas time romance for fans of the Crossroads series

I enjoyed this book because we can catch up, with all of the brothers, for just a minor update. This book mainly circles the life of, Bobby, and Sophie, three years after, they marry. Bobby and Sophie and Bobby had decided they didn't want any children. You also find out what the Sloan brother's dad is up to during retirement.

One reason, Bobby’s mom was bipolar, and he didn't want, to pass that down if he is, a carrier. The second, reason is after, Sophie’s parents lost, Nick, they are never the same. The pain is, too great, to bounce, back from. This book should be called must love sex. LOL!

However, Sophie’s new job and all the traveling caused her brain to fry. She hadn’t been keeping, a close enough eye on her periods, to realize something is off. It never dawns on her, that she would need, to worry. She got the shot faithfully, and her periods always ran, like clockwork. Until they, don't.

She takes three tests to be sure. Yup, she's sure. She knows she needs to tell, Bobby, but, how do you do that at dinner in public or alone during sex? Decisions! But, when Bobby surprises her with, his life-altering news. Sophie chooses to wait because he is shaky, and, her reaction is off. Therefore, he made the wrong decision, oh so wrong, deduction.

Sophie and Bobby

Sophie has had a long couple of months, what with traveling for her job for both Amber at Bella and Haley for Tempting, but she is determined to get through her emails so her and her husband of three years Bobby can get away for the weekend! Only something odd happens, and both of her bosses/ best friends are sending her home early. Bobby is also excited to be going away for the weekend with his beautiful wife, but what happens at the monthly breakfast with his four brothers has him even happier. What is it that have these two in an anxious expectation of how the other is going to react when they tell their news? How will they tell one another? How will they each react? What about their family and friends? How will they react? How does Grandpa J help? Only one way to find out is to read this great story by Melanie Shawn!

My Love was a cute, quick read. Bobby and Sophie are happily married and looking forward to their annual pre-holiday weekend getaway. They were so amazing together. And phew were there some hot times!!

Bobby is not the most talkative guy, but when he does talk he makes it count. I loved him texting Sophie throughout the day. Phew! Yeah. It was great. Plus Sophie more than makes up for Bobby's lack of talking. She can babble on and on and on, which is one of the things Bobby loves about her. When some things happen to mix things up a bit it was fun to see how they both handled it.

Overall this is a fun, cute, hot, quick holiday read.
