I enjoyed the characters in this book, but every time I started getting into things I would find an editing error that took me out of the story. I'm a writer. I know it's an imperfect process. But when there are errors in tenses and punctuation every other page, it's really hard to suspend disbelief and get into the flow. If a proofreader sat down with this book I have no doubt I would re-read it and give it five stars. Right now it's flawed, and I'm giving it four.

Going back to Hope Falls is like going home to me, and I enjoy my visits there immensely. There is something special and magical about this series, with each book delivered with a fresh story, that has unique characters finding love, home, and their destinies. There's the circle of friends and neighbors that truly care about you and wants the best for you, and are willing to do whatever it takes for you to reach your potential.
Hotshot Evan Bishop and Actress Shayne Fox set the stage on fire like rarely seen. The connection between them is like a third main character in the tale. It is sizzling hot, it is dominating, it is tender, raw, and most of all it is real and lasting if their dare to give it a chance.
I loved Evan, this man with his death stare, his loyalty, his brutal honesty, and his kindness won my heart over. Yes, he might come off as standoffish at the first glance, but there is so much more to this man, layers upon layers that are slowly revealed but only to Shayne and then even slower to his family. There were scenes with Evan interacting with his mom and with his ex that showed the light into this man's soul, that even now brings me to tears because of the beauty of his character.
Shayne grew up in the system, lost her brother in the process, and suffered mobbing and bullying because of dyslexia and living situation. She learned early on to hide her true self, to keep the walls up, and only let her two besties in to see the true Shayne who was delightfully patience, kind, considerate, wild, determined, and daring person.
The physical attraction between Evan and Shayne broke some inner scales that I have with its sizzling hotness. The love scenes between them are amazing, detailed yes, yet such an important part of the plot and so exquisitely done that they took my breath away. A lot of the mental connection, them getting to know each other is developed off the pages, and I do wish there would have been more of that included, as well as the consequences of the changes with Shayne's career management. But that's just because I can't get enough of this couple who absolutely won my heart over with their vulnerability, with their strength, and beauty of their souls.
The Hope Falls series are built with standalone novels but these are keepsakes to me, books to be re-read and cherished.

Oh my!! I don’t know how the amazing duo of Melanie Shawn is able to write a better, improved, and sexy story than their previous book, but they did it with Fire and Temptation, book 16 in their Hope Fall series which I just loved. Hot shot fire fighter Evan keeps his thoughts and feelings to himself. After getting injured during the last major fire he is at loose ends. The girl he’s loved since middle school is engaged to and pregnant by another man. After being tapped by Kyle Austin Reed to help give technical advice for a film Evan meets the actress Shayne Fox. If love at first sight is possible, then these two have it in spades. As these two spend time together they open to each other, telling things they had never told anyone else. The electricity and chemistry between these two could supply Hope Falls with years of energy. These two are perfect for each other. Evan is the first guy who aroused sexual feelings in Shayne. Evan finally understands that look guys in Hope Falls get when they talk about their wives. There’s so much more to this story that I would spoil it saying more that Evan is my new book boyfriend.
Through their amazing and vivid writing Melanie Shawn did an outstanding job tackling this love story and the magic of Hope Falls. I genuinely enjoyed reading Fire and Temptation and was pleased that Melanie Shawn found a way for Evan and Shayne to open their hearts, share their love and find a way to a happy forever. When she rolls into town to tell him that she's not only marrying someone else, but is pregnant to boot, he knows that he has no choice to move on. He's got some extra time on his hands due to an injury he suffered at work, so when he's asked to consult on Kyle Austen Reed's latest movie, he wants to say no, but doesn't once he gets a look at the lead actress.
Shayne Fox has never been part of a conventional family and now that she's in the limelight after becoming an actress she really only has two people in her life she can count on. She's relied mostly on herself and when she heads to Hope Falls to film her next movie, her plan is just to survive. What she's not expecting is being welcomed with open arms and a town full of people that like her for her and not for her name.
When Shanye and Evan lay eyes on one another the first time, they could start their own forest fire. The sparks are huge and immediate! Will these two be able to deal with their own insecurities or will their relationship end in a pile of ash?

You could definitely feel the heat in Fire and Temptation.
Fire and Temptation hooked me from the start. The characters were sweet, vulnerable and once they tore down the walls around their heart, they let themselves love.
I liked the quiet disposition of Evan. He hasn't had it easy the past few years. Along with being in and out of rehab, Evan and his childhood sweetheart have parted ways. If it wasn't for the strong support of his family and friends he would become a recluse.
Evan is given the opportunity to help on the movie set. It's being on the set with the very talented and sexy Shayne Fox that has Evan becoming part of society again.
I found Shayne to be very sweet and likeable. She's been on her own most of her life but has a few close friends that always have her back. Shayne has built up a movie career and is the sweetheart of the big screen.
These two are brought together throughout the book. They have a a bit of a rocky start but their chemistry is explosive and they don't deny or fight it for long.
I enjoyed the book but found a few storylines that I would have liked a little more closure on. It seemed the drama with her agent was built up but didn't amount to much.
We're also also reunited with some old friends from Hope Falls

Right from the beginning, you're going to feel bad for Evan. He's ready to hopefully have another chance with his ex, but his ex has news of her own. She's engaged and pregnant. Evan is disheartened because he's loved her his whole life. But things quickly turn for the better. Kyle Austen Reeds is having a movie filmed in Hope Falls, and he asked Evan to be a technical consultant. One of the leads is Shayne. It's funny how Evan, at first, thinks Shayne is a male, but he's quickly corrected. Shayne is actually a beautiful, successful actress.
When Shayne and him lock eyes with each other, they're instantly attracted to one another. Problem is, they're trying their best to fight temptations and resist it. But that's hard to do if they're working on set together.
This was a nice, quick read for me! There might've been a 10 year age difference between them, but it didn't matter. They were the perfect couple and complimented each other very well! There were times when they went through the scenes together, and that was hot! You could literally feel the chemistry! The sister duo of Melanie and Shawna have written another winner! Wonderful job!

Fire and Temptation is the sixteenth novel in the Hope Falls series by Melanie Shawn. This novel follows Evan and Shayne through their introduction and eventual romance. We caught a glimpse of Evan and his apparent brooding personality in the last Hope Falls novel - Fire and Romance.
Evan Bishop is a lone wolf or so his family calls him sometimes. He has been focused on his career and doesn't have much time for anything else. So what happens when he is injured on thr job and can't be an active member of his own hotshot crew?
Shayne Fox is a famous actress who is working to expand in the Hollywood field. When an opportunity comes to work on a move in Hope Falls, she jumps at it. Not having the best childhood, Shayne has a hard time letting people close to her. So when she sees a handsome man and feels an instant connection she isn't exaclty sure what to do with it.

Shayne is an actress who is working alongside Kyle Austen Reed in a new movie she is helping to produce and is being shot in Hope Falls. From the moment they laid eyes on one another they were unable to think of anyone else.
Kyle Austen Reed has decided that his lead character, the one that he needs to emulate IS Evan. Kyle is using Evan and his background as the basis for the movie they are shooting. As these two characters have to see each other everyday on set, soon it becomes impossible for them to deny their attraction to one another.
While this story is a standalone, like in all of the Hope Falls stories, you get to catch up with old characters and meet new ones that you will start to love.
I really enjoyed the story of Evan and Shayne getting together however there were a few details that I wished had more resolution in the story. Without giving anything away it is hard to detail what those are.

I loved these characters so much. Their authentic brokenness will capture you from the begging. Watching these two unintentionally break down each others walls and ultimately open themselves up to love and something bigger than themselves is a real pleasure. Not to mention Hope Falls is one of the most amazing small town series you will ever come across.
If you pick up this book don’t be fooled into thinking you will put it down agin until it is finished. The sexy times will make you blush but the sweet times will keep you turning the pages until you reach the last.

Love at first sight? Shayne Fox doesn’t believe in Love at all, let alone love at first sight. Shayne is a famous actress who is in Hope Falls to do a movie with Kyle Austin Reed. Growing up in foster care and being separated from her brother in the process has left Shayne jaded with love. At the town meeting, where Kyle wants to introduce her to the town, she locks gazes with a big brawny man and feels tingles everywhere. She has never felt attraction to another human before so this feeling is new to her. Turns out, she will get her chance to talk to him after all. Evan Bishop is an alpha firefighter for Hope Falls who was taught at a young age that Love is a life sentence. When his ex girlfriend tells him that she is engaged and pregnant Evan is a little upset until he locks gazes with the actress in town. After being injured in a big fire, Evan has been grumpy and out of sorts, but when he looks at Shayne...he feels sunshine and light. This is another classic from these two. I enjoyed the story of Evan and Shayne and you get to keep up with the other characters from Hope Falls!

This is another wonderful book in Hope Falls. I always love catching up with some of the characters I met in previous books. I wish there was a place like Hope Falls as I would be there in a flash! I felt bad at first that Evan Bishop’s ex was pregnant and getting married to someone else. He handled it all so well. I am glad though that he found Shayne Fox. These two were meant for each other and the electricity coming off the two was amazing. They were so different, he is a firefighter and she is an actress. Their younger days were so different also. I loved how giving and caring Shayne was, especially with children. She was the type person that could get along with anyone and make everyone feel comfortable. I have to say that I couldn’t stand her manager. I was glad to see her stand up to him. This is such a wonderful love story that I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

As usual with Melanie Shawn’s books, the first half is spent creating the characters and getting to know them as well as doing the “dance” between them. After the 50% mark, expect the sexiness to explode!

Evan and Shayne's book definitely did NOT disappoint!
I am usually hesitant with stories that have characters with an age gap like these two characters did (yes, I realize that 9 years isn't THAT much, but I just struggle sometimes due to lack of life experience etc), but this one was just SO WELL WRITTEN. The way the characters were developed, and all that they both had been through in life, really made everything much more believable to me.
Evan and Shayne had instant attraction. But they know they'll both only be around/together for a short amount of time. Plus, Shayne can't even be sure that Evan is totally over his ex. Can these two move past these obstacles and get their long awaited HEA. They both deserve it, now they just both need to REALIZE IT.
I adored this book. Visiting Hope Falls is always enjoyable for me. The characters are fun to visit, it is fun to see their families and lives grow in this great place.

In the latest book from Hope falls, we read the story of the next member of the Bishop Family - Evan and actress Shayne Fox. Both characters come to the story with a history that leads them not to want to follow their heart and believe in love. But the attraction between the two is heated from the beginning. True too most Melanie Shawn books, this HEA does not disappoint.
Although this book is a standalone, if you have followed the other books in the Hope Falls series, we catch up with Evan’s brother Eli and Kenzie, his cousin Deanna and Lucky and of course Kyle Austin Reed.
I’m not exactly sure why the story of Evan and Shayne is one of my favorites but I think it is. I may change my mine when I read the next one...lol.
It’s definitely a must read for the winter.

Evan Bishop feels he is ready to commit to his on and off girlfriend / childhood sweetheart, but it’s too little, too late, she is engaged and pregnant. Evan has been approached to be a technical consultant for Kyle Austen Reeds movie, which he wants to say no to, but the decision gets taken out of his hands when he sees Shayne Fox, the heroine of the movie. Suddenly his ex is the last thing on his mind.
The minute Shayne lays eyes on Evan, she feels a connection to his like nothing else. The attraction between them could light up a small country and she just doesn’t know how to handle it, and the strong and silent man doesn’t make things easier.
I loved Fire and Temptation, it was a perfect romantic read. The chemistry between Evan and Shayne is hot enough to keep you warm in winter. The way they were able to understand each other with words was just beautiful. Evan as the strong, silent types was just swoon worthy.

Hotshot Firefighter Evan returns to Hope Falls thinking he is finally ready to settle down with his long time on & off girlfriend, only to find out she has moved on. Shayne comes to town to film a movie with Kyle Austin Reed and feels an instant attraction to Evan. Evan feels that same attraction but doesn’t want to be involved with someone young, famous and just fresh out of rehab. Once he stars spending time with Shayne as a technical consultant on the movie, he can’t deny the mutual attraction.
Does he find his forever girl despite all of the obstacles he has placed in their way? Can Shayne learn to love despite her upbringing? This book turned up the heat a few notches compared to past Hope Falls books! Shayne and Evan definitely create some steam. It was a fun hot visit back to Hope Falls!

I love Melanie Shawn's books and I think that this one might rate up there in the top ten. I loved Evan and Shayne's story. Both have different reasons but both are afraid of loving again. They have both been hurt in the past in different ways and they try to hide inside themselves. When they meet they can't do that anymore because they are both so attracted to each other they are really not sure what to do. What happens when 2 people are drawn to each other but still hold part of themselves back? What happens when one decides to let go and the other doesn't? I will tell you what happens it makes for one amazing read. I highly recommend this book and this series. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

Even had my heart in a flutter and I was praying for Shayne to let him love her.

Emotionally thrilling, sexy, fun, action packed romantic adventure that has you believing in love at first sight. They may not have the same views on love in the beginning but that does not stop them from falling anyway.

I loved this latest instalment in the hope falls series by Melanie Shawn. It’s a love at first sight story for Evan and Shayne. Neither of them are in a spot where they feel open to a new relationship but the bubbling chemistry between them is too strong to be ignored. She’s a movie star filming in the hope falls area and he is a hot shot recovering from a work related injury. They won’t have it easy trying to make their schedules coordinate but the time they do spend together is very intense so they’re determined to make it work.

Amazing!
What can I say that will let you know just how amazing this book is. You will laugh, cry, and shake your head throughout this entire book. You will fall absolutely in love with Evan and his big heart (even though he tries to hide it) and you will instantly connect with Shayne and want to see her happy. The connection between these two is almost so real that you can feel it through the pages. I felt like I was rooting for them the whole time. And you will sigh in relief when you turn the last page as well. It is an absolutely amazing book and I cannot wait for the next one in this series.

Evan and Shayne are as opposite as two people can be. Evan a hotshot firefighter and Shayne an actress. Both a bit guarded and at times seem stand-offish. But there is an immediate attraction between the two...and you know what they say, opposites attract and the attraction between these two is hot!
I would have loved for the story to have delved a bit more in to Shayne's background and her reunion with her brother but that didn't detract from the story at all and maybe it just means he will show up in a later Hope Falls story!

Fire and Temptation was an amazing stand alone book in the Hope Falls Series. I can honestly say that this series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I am not sure how that is even possible. Shayne and Evan’s instant attraction was sweet. From seeing each other across the room and both telling themselves they can’t fall for anybody they just can’t stop their attraction. Shayne is a women with an amazing heart and personality. Evan is a sweet guy trying to overcome his past mistakes!
I personally couldn’t put this book down and enjoyed the whole story!!

This was one of my favorite books I have read in a bit. This was one of the cutest and 'aww' inspiring happily ever afters.
This was an easy and quick read.
Evan is getting over the fact that he feels like he is a failure for his ex who has moved on in a big way. Shayne has her own life drama going on before she starts her new movie.
They are drawn together and that connection continues to grow through their continued interaction.
Melanie Shawn books are the highlight of my week when there is a new one coming out. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next one.

I can not get enough of Hope Falls!! This book is about Evan Bishop, Eli's brother, and actress Shayne Fox. With Shayne in town working on a movie and Evan consulting on this movie, there is not a lot of time for them. Shayne and Evan have a hard time committing to a relationship until they realize that they have this bone deep connection that they both share!! Can't wait to read the next book in this series!! Melanie Shawn delivers another great story about the Hot Shot firefighter Evan, and the beautiful actress Shayne. Love the sparks that happens as soon as these two see each other for the first time. I enjoy it every time the tough guy falls head over heels for the girl no matter how hard he tries not to. Truly enjoyable read that will make you laugh, cry and refuse to put it down until your done.

This book had me from the start. I love the scene when Evan and Shayne first make eye contact. It just seems so natural.
Evan has just been blind sided by his long time love and injured on the job. Shayne is a Hollywood actress with a lot of publicity around her.
While working on a movie together hey will start a fire not even a professional can put out.
Pick up this book and get a great light hearted read.
