He put a spell on me... Or at least he must have, because none of this makes any sense. None of this can be real . I’m not a mage with magical powers…I’m just me . Ellie Sutton. Your average, everyday seventeen-year-old high school human student. My biggest concerns are bullies, failed exams, and missing the express subway twice in one day. Magic is something I read about in comic books, it’s not real. People don’t move things with their minds or summon lightning with their hands. I don’t care what Stellan Wentworth says. It doesn’t matter that he’s breathtakingly beautiful or that his eyes sparkled when I challenge him. He’s the kind of hero found in romance novels, not my real life. I’m dreaming, I have to be. Because if I’m not, then what he’s telling me is true. This gorgeous, terrifying world is in turmoil…and if I don’t learn how to use my magic overnight…they’ll all die.
I'm so mad. This COULD have been really good if more creativity and a few more edits were involved. It has aspects that I really like, such as the romance and the main characters constantly getting injured and taking care of each other. BUT... You can't just steal characters from other works! Seriously. One specific example is the main character's home group of friends. The writer didn't even bother coming up with unique character. They just stole the characters from "Big Bang Theory," personalities and everything. They barely changed the names: Sherman instead of Sheldon, Lao instead of Leonard, Nickel instead of Penny, Andy instead of Amy, Hewie instead of Howard, Bernadita instead of Bernadette, Ravi instead of Raj. They changed just a few physical description details, of course, but seriously?! Oh, and the other main character's two cousins/best friends are Shylock and Weston, based off of Sherlock and Watson (but specifically the modern tv show version). Was this written by AI or a 3-year-old? Also, there have been several times where a concept or character was introduced but then later introduced again as if it was brand new. It's as of the story was written out of order, but the author never bothered to go back and make it make sense. It's so sad. This book was so close to actually being good.
The Night Realm: Magic Marked Complete Trilogy by Chandelle Lavaun and Megan Montero: —Ellie & Stellan’s story
Midnight Mage #1: 5 stars This story is fast paced with secrets, surprises, and soul mates. Likable and strong characters who mix humor in with the danger, and do what needs to be done. Human, Mages, and angels, in the Human and Mage realms — but there’s more! Ends on a huge cliffhanger.
Marvel Mage #2: 5 stars Vampire/Fae realms. LOTS of danger and a real time crunch. Jealousy and misunderstandings. And secrets. Non stop action with a fast pace. Ends on another cliffhanger.
Master Mage #3: 4 stars. This story has a lot of drama. Shocking secrets revealed. Challenges and help from unexpected sources. A really fast pace, likable characters, with lots and action. But. The drama was a bit too much. Overall a good series with a strong ending. —PTators
All three books in the series are packed with adventure, non-stop action and complicated paranormal magic where a wide range of characters have amazing magical gifts. There is a quest to many interesting and mysterious and perilous lands and this collaboration between Chandelle and Megan is a thrill read you can not put down. The Heroine accidentally stumbles into a world of danger and magic, with a wide range of dark and light characters with magical gifts. Love that both worlds have supportive and caring friendships for Ellie.
Red flag for some readers: there was gruesome and gory violence, violence against women and torture and attempted sexual assault on the page in a couple of the books and I had to skim over some of it. The overall story arc is amazing and complex. Highly recommend.
Five realms. Nobody but the Royal of each realm know this. Oh, and Ellie. Born in the Second realm, her parents had to move to the First Realm to keep her safe. The angels let them know that Ellie is important and will not survive to complete her quest if they don't move. Ellie herself does not know any of this until she is seventeen and accidentally ends up in the Second Realm. The Second Realm is dying and Ellie is the one destined to save it with her magic. "Mistakes were made"
These authors never disappoint! Their book are always unique and well written. Ellie is throw for a loop and into a different realm. Be ready to feel and ride the emotional roller-coaster. Look for book that will grab you and drag you right in, these are definitely the right ones!
This book was just what I expected. A fun, not too deep, fast read. The plot was expected, and the characters had just enough depth to make the books interesting. Personal Rating: 16+ swearing (all the words), sexual situations, not described in too much detail, but referenced. Teen romance, violence. Same sex relationship (major character).
If 10 stars were allowed, I would have given that! The writing was exceptional, the details were great, characters were phenomenal, storylines were as well! I started this series on Wednesday, it’s now Saturday….4 days because it was non stop reading!!! Read it, you’ll love it!
This was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially liked the characters and the concept of the different realms. It would have been interesting to know what the voodoo queen did with the fmc's power while she had it.
I tend to read books fast, but Chancellor LaVaun's books always leave me wanting more. She has a way of getting you hooked on her characters. I'm always left wanting more
I reviewed this series earlier, separately. This is s fabulous season one series, and now I will dive into season 2! I know our deviously devilish authors have such incredible stories to tell us!
As always I’m in sucked to this awesome world! Megan and Chandelle create the best universes. I can’t wait for the next one to see what these 2 come up with!!!
What a series. Both Megan and Chandelle are a force to be reckoned with alone let alone together. The twists and plots the headache and romance. This book has everything you need in a magical romantic bloodthirsty book AMAZING
The first trilogy of the Stone keepers and it is enjoyable addictive reading. Good characters, storyline and plot. I look forward to reading about the next stone keeper.
I thought when I started reading this series that it wasn't for me. But after a couple of chapters, I enjoyed it so much I couldn't put it. Loved the storyline, and the characters were great. Worthwhile reading.
AMAZING! This book trilogy hooks and you and drags you in. I could have read so many more with Ellie. From beginning to end this book will keep you up late at night to finish.
I ENJOYED THESE BOOKS VERY MUCH. I FOUND MYSELF IN A STUMP FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO READ AND FOUND THESE ON FACEBOOK. LETS JUST SAY I INJOYED THEM VERY MUCH
