I’m not a self-help or business reader by any means (I almost exclusively read fiction/fantasy books for fun) so I was shocked by how much I enjoyed this. Very easy read and solid advice and examples that had me interested throughout. I can definitely see how I can apply the practices with my team and family.

This was great way for thinking of how to be a leader. Simple, easy framework but seems to missing from the workplace. Mostly geared for senior leaders, but can also be implemented at all levels. I’m the workplace as well as as a parent

Fantastic read and simple principles to change how you operate at work. Docking a star as the book was clearly not proofread; riddled with errors.

As a fan of Brandon Smith's blog, books, and podcasts, I'm excited for this latest addition to his toolbox for eliminating workplace dysfunction. It's filled with Brandon's warm, thoughtful, and wise storytelling, as he takes us through the leadership struggles (and solutions) of Carlos. Using specific examples, The Author vs. Editor Dilemma will give you the tools to sharpen your leadership skills and develop your team. While this book may seem geared toward senior leaders, it's also perfect for considering your own role - at any level - to make sure you're taking initiative, showing ownership, displaying critical thinking - and sitting in the right seat. For anyone who is feeling overwhelmed or frustrated at work, this is a must-read.
