Now a civilian and academic living on the fringes of civilized space, she has committed herself to a life of solitude and studying a race of long-dead aliens. Everything was great… until she finds herself dragged into a new conflict. A conflict she never saw coming.

I am a geek with a passion for God [I am a fulltime Presbyterian Pastor/Retired computer programmer.]
I'm an unrepentant technologist with over 25 years in the "Information Technology" field -much of it as a Senior Manager of Research and Development.
I have a wonderful wife named Lori, and two fantastic daughters... CJ and Jackie. CJ is ten years the elder and is in college (Muskingum University, New Concord Ohio).
All four of us love Science Fiction, Scuba Diving and good food. Lori and the girls share a passion for music and the piano - regrettably I have absolutely no skills in this area. I do have a passion for Notre Dame and Green Bay Packer Football.
About my writing...
My current passion is a pure Science Fiction series following the adventures of a future "Horatio Hornblower" style character called "Admiral Catherine Kimbridge". I have also co-authored a fantasy series with my eldest daughter (CJ) called "The Ways of Mages"
PLEASE NOTE: All of the proceeds from the first book in each series goes to funding food banks and homeless ministries... So enjoy an inexpensive read and know that you are helping someone else in the process!
This was a great series. While reading this series it is very easy to forget that it was written by a guy. The inner dialogue in the main character's mind is very real. Andrew's muse must have been a woman. There are several moments that are laugh out loud hilarious. Lots of action and space battles. Very interesting plot with some surprising twists. If you are a Star Trek fan you will be able to spot dozens and dozens of references to most of the franchise. I also caught references to Star Wars, Babylon 5, Six Million Dollar Man, Heartbreak Ridge, Dune, Battlestar Galactica, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. All in all, it was a very fun reading experience. It's been a while since I laughed so many times while reading a book. I recommend this series and I will have to look for more from this author.
I loved this story. The character s were amazing. Admiral Dare was perfect. The give and take between characters was so much fun. I really liked the first person narrative getting inside her head. Fantastic story. I wished it was longer!
I was blown away by how engaging this was. The tension built steadily, keeping me on the edge of my seat. The twists were surprising and kept me guessing until the very end. I found myself thinking about it long after I finished. It’s the kind of story that stays with you. Highly recommended!
I was really intrigued by the premise, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The middle part dragged a bit, and some of the characters felt one-dimensional. It’s not a bad story, but it could have been so much more. I liked it, but I didn’t love it.
