Chantilly had no other choice since her uncle was her only living relative. Why did her father leave her in his care after they passed away? Her uncle kept trying to marry her off to older men who could be her father or even her grandfather. She refused each marriage proposal. What would happen if she stayed with her mean uncle? What kind of life would that be? Her Uncle had already taken everything that had belonged to her after her parents passed away. Everything that should have gone to her, at least that is what her father had promised. Now Chantilly was penniless.
What other choice did she really have? What kind of husband did her uncle find for her? How did she become a Proxy Bride? Why did the man have to marry by Proxy Bride? Is he really dirt poor?
I will start by saying the story line is good and I would have enjoyed a well written story based on it. That said, I will quote from email from author after I questioned the grammar, “I believe that my writing with all of my errors are not the books for you, I am sorry”. To be honest, this might have been one of the worst editing jobs I’ve read. I did check out the “look inside” on some of her other books and did not find the grammar errors with the exception of tense changes and being written in 1st or 3rd person. The content sounded interesting and I will probably read a few more to see if they are better edited. She did offer to let me edit for free and if I had the time I would almost be tempted because I do think her stories are good.
This book was so good!! Chantilly and Dominic's story hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It's a clean sweet mail order bride story, but with a twist. It has just the right amount of drama to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was such a sweet story of faith and love. I loved this story. All poor Chantilly had to go through was heartbreaking only held on through her faith. To have only the memories of the love of her parents and a childhood friend, a boy she loved dearly. It is a story of faith and undying love. I highly recommend reading this book.
The story line was fine. But the editing was non existent. The author used multiple tenses throughout the story, often in the same paragraph. This was a difficult read.
Great story line, but had a hard time slogging through the incorrect sentence structure, punctuation and verb tenses. Would have loved to have read more story between the last chapter and the Epilogue.
This is a sweet proxy bride story with a reuniting of Chantilly with her childhood friend, Dominic. Poor editing does diminish reading enjoyment however I would hope future books will be reviewed before publishing. Keep writing!
Liked the story line… but Really out of almost all characters. SHE. Was the least. Filled out character…. Her emotions were sort of Blank…. But as I said. The story line was good…. Needs a little more DEPTH TO SOME OF THE PERSONALITIES
I really enjoyed this book very much , and I love how the Scriptures were part of this book God Bless . BRIDE FOR DOMINIC: THE PROXY BRIDES- BOOK 71 , BY PAULETTE D. MARSHALL .
Good story. Bad grammar. The back and forth makes it feel like an outline and then there will be a few enjoyable paragraphs and then back to outline sounding. I don’t know if this is correct or not, but it made it harder for me to enjoy.
Dominic/Donnie- now in Colorado owns a ranch and is wealthy Chantilly- orphan 1 yr and now living with a mean uncle I enjoyed reading this captivating story with a loving hea. KU
