The Wicked Brotherhood is no longer invincible.

But neither am I.

I have been betrayed so many times at Bleakwood Academy for Boys.

First, by The Brotherhood.

Jasper.

Heath.

Beck.

Second, by the head of the nearby girls’ school. Headmistress Robin pretended to be my friend, but she might turn out to be my greatest enemy of all.

Things should be simpler now that I no longer have to pretend to be someone other than myself, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Bleakwood is under investigation. With the threat of closure hanging over us, I find myself tangled in a complicated web of yet more lies and secrets—lies and secrets that could determine the fate of this school and everyone in it, myself included.

With the future of Bleakwood in the balance, I soon find that the next great betrayal isn’t going to come from outside, from anyone else.

The next betrayal, the greatest betrayal of all, is going to come from me.

Wretched is a full-length reverse harem bully romance with multiple love interests. It’s the third book in the Wicked Brotherhood trilogy, a contemporary enemies-to-lovers series where the main character has no intent to choose between the men who inevitably end up falling for her...after they’ve paid their penitence, of course.

This book was awful. I'm shocked that I even finished it.The main character Alex is such a whiney little bitch with first world problems and a weak mindset. The plot is incredibly boring with very low stakes, which caused me not to care. This makes me wonder if maybe I was a bit too generous with my rating on the previous books in the series.

I have reviewed and rated well over 100 books. And only twice have I deemed a book fit for one star. This is one of them. Jasper cannot be forgiven. The glorifying of abuse...

I can’t even review this book like a normal person. I’m so mad. SHE ENDED UP WITH JASPER?! I might be sick. Was I really so naive to ever think that she wouldn’t end up with her abuser? I don’t even care. This was disgusting, and I honestly think the first book in this series needed a trigger warning. I am so glad this was free.

Series didn’t really seem like an RH to me. I actually liked it better when she was still pretending to be a boy. Alex wasn’t a very like-able character and it wasn’t really explained why the guys couldn’t leave the brotherhood. Even after her bad accident with the horse (what injury did she even get?) I expected the boys to be at her side and they weren’t. Also- Olive shows up out of nowhere?! What did that envelope say?! And the guys never really spoke about their feelings for Alex so not sure if they love her back. Maybe we should’ve had multiple POVs.
Oh, I’d like to point out that the cover is nice and all but it implies 4 men and there are only 3.

I had to know how it ended.

I loved the first book in this series and had to keep reading to see how it all ended. Honestly I didn't love this book. I don't like weak girls that forgive the bullies too easily. I really felt like the fire from the beginning of the series fizzled out as the story continued but at least we found out what the end result of the drama was.

I didn't care for how Alex forgave Heath and Beck so quickly. There were no spicy scenes which was quite a let down. The competition thing was interesting but then that got canceled. It wasn't terrible and the ending was decent.

This book just wasn't my cup of tea.
I had my expectations too high up for this book. That is my opinion and I recognize that other people will find this the best book.

Mixed feeling on this book. The romance is fade to black and the harem doesn’t actually form until the epilogue, however I do think this is a great starting series for young teens first discovering the genre.

I enjoyed the previous 2 books in the series but this book fell flat for me, the characters completely switched their attitudes and personalities then pretty much moped around for the entire book until there’s a grand gesture at the end and all is forgiven. It maybe needed another book just to wrap everything up. I’ve still got loads of questions, we don’t actually find out what the brotherhood actually is or does, and the thing at the end with jaspers secret is killing me- what was it?!?

This was a great finish for this series. I'm not usually a fan of Academy Bully Romance but I was very quickly swept into this story. This book picks up right where Hateful left off and this book is not predictable. I loved that it always left me wondering what could happen next. There is so many surprises and twits that I couldn't put it down! I loved the characters in this series and the ending was great! I really had my doubts if everything would work out with an HEA but I was not left disappointed. The romance and emotion are great in this series and this author's personal style of writing is a fade to black verses smut so its a great read for someone that doesn't want or need the details. It's a great teen read or YA and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I felt like the story line had so much potential, but fell seriously flat in the third book. I DNF’d at 60%.
1) I really started to dislike Alex in this book. She just came across as whiny & bratty. Crying about the boys not putting her first over a centuries old tradition of the Brotherhood. Not once did she have an actual conversation with these boys to ask why the tradition was so important to them or their families. Yet, she’s willing to destroy them at every turn without caring about them or sparing their feelings? I just wasn’t feeling Alex at all.
2) The dynamics of the relationship are strange throughout the whole series. I understand the point of bully romance is for the FMC to eventually be with her bullies. But, she should absolutely make them grovel a bit first. Alex just got with Heath & Beck pretty instantly after half-hearted apologies. There wasn’t any real connection between any of them. They were apparently dating for a few weeks before shit hit the fan again. Although, it was mostly them walking the halls together, eating meals together, and kissing. It was so mundane and absent of real feelings.
3) THIS IS A CLEAN ROMANCE!!! I kept waiting for some serious sexy time to start with how passionate the bullying happened. Hate f**king or something! But nope. The sex scenes were just brushed over completely in book 2 with talk of “fun times”. 🙄 Alex & Heath could have seriously used the empty hiking trails for some hot, passionate nature sex, but those scenes were completely wasted. I don’t care for fade to black, especially when their is no real feelings behind the relationship to make up for it.
4) Grammatical errors and using the wrong character’s name. I just can’t.
5) I didn’t feel like this was a reverse harem series at all. Not in the traditional sense. It missed the mark. There were no real feelings behind the relationships. No passion. No connection. It was boring.
6) The covers are nice, but why are there 4 guys when Alex is only with 3? It’s confusing.
7) What was the whole point to The Brotherhood??? I did not feel like it really added anything to the story.

What an awful series. I loved the concept of the plot but boy the execution was seriously lacking. The MC is not likeable at all. I just spent more and more time feeling sorry for the male bully leads and getting angrier and angrier at the MC. She is so petty and childish (she ends her relationship with them at one point and then finds out they are looking for dates for the ball and goes ballistic over it! Helloooo you ended things after they tried several times to get back together with you, so now they are free agents). The overall plot of destroying school and the “villain” just had me rolling my eyes.

I kind of want to pull my hair out

I’m so irritated because Alex is the most manipulated and I’ll treated person of the whole story. She literally blackmailed, mistreated, or her feelings marginalized by everyone. Including Rafael. It’s ridiculous.

And then Alex let’s it happen. And also allows herself to be manipulated in every direction. And her emotions and feelings are all over the place. She’s angry and then she’s crying and then she misses the brotherhood. She gets angry with Dean Withers. She doesn’t report Headmistress Robin. She doesn’t learn from her experiences. And then by the end we are just supposed to accept that everything is going to turn out fine. Alex and the Brotherhood’s relationship is so toxic.

And it’s odd since she comes from a family loves. Truly loves her. And to see that at the end they don’t even seem to be at her graduation. I mean at least her parents. I’m just over this whole thing. Super over. And I only finished the book so I could see how all of this pans out.

Disappointed and waste of my time

If there’s one thing I cannot stand it’s a brainless heroine. Alex is so pathetic in this it ruined the story for me and even worse there’s no character growth for any of them, not for Alex and not the boys. The only reason they stop physically abusing her is because they find out she’s a girl otherwise it would’ve continued🤦🏻‍♀️

I am confused. And conflicted.

The beginning of this whole story was good. Interesting. Sweet, even. Both first books were. Even with bullying and rape attempt, yeah. Because, well, Jasper gonna get what he deserves, right? Even when you love the person who abused you, you should never give them a second chance, right? Yeah, right.

I was really digging all this story around Heath and Beck who fell in love with Alex when they thought that she was a boy. Loooved it. That her gender didn’t matter for them when the truth was revealed. This slow burn was really romantic.

But Alex continued to include Jasper’s name with her other two “boyfriends” like she still had hope that he will grow and.. and what? Give him deserved retribution and then be friends with him? This I can understand. Since he tried to become better. Tried to help her several times. Felt regret and disappointment in himself. And she thought about a revenge for a long time, may I add.
Yet to give him a chance to be with her? Nope. This I do not understand. Because for me it is not OK. Not at all. AT LEAST not so fast, you know? Give him several years for groveling. To prove himself. Even after what he did at the dance. Thank him for that but it should be only a beginning, I think.
Because rape attempt is a rad flag and I can’t forget such thing and be vulnerable with this person in the future. It would haunt me for a long time, make me pause each time, because it IS a traumatic event. Or so I thought.
This part is not realistic for me, I do not believe it. It was too fast for a relationship to start.

It was hard for me to finish the third book. I just wanted to know how it will end even when I saw other reviews and spoilers. I just wanted to understand how it could end that way.

“ ...and it makes me want to protect him. Maybe I really am the most fucked up one of all.”

Other moment that I want to mention is that the topic of The Brotherhood is not revealed. It was too vague. What does The Brotherhood do? What does it entails? Only bullying? Is it like a secret society? Is it supposed to go further to the University? Who else is in this Brotherhood? What does it give you if you join? I mean, at least give me something to understand the size and the hierarchy of this whole thing.

2.75
I found this author yesterday on Instagram and she said she only wrote reverse harem, which is my favorite guilty pleasure so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted it to be good so bad but I just wasn't feeling it. So,
I give this series a 2.75 overall. I enjoyed the first book but only because I anticipated more to come in the 2nd and 3rd book so I accepted that book 1 was kinda slow burn. I thought it was refreshing that she didn't have a tragic background as if that was her personality. She was really smart (nevermind signing up to a boys school) and I liked that. But plot wise in the end nothing really came of it. I admit there was some original scenes here and there but There wasn't even a sex scene?! Wrong of me to expect it but I expected some makeup hate sex or something. In the end I didn't really like the boys, Jasper was a loser, heath a softie although I did quite like him at times but not love and I tolerated Beck because I imagine him really really hot but that's no excuse. In the end she says she's kinda twisted or something... Girlfriend you were not cruel or badass at any time of this book, but you were determined, I liked that but honey no. Don't get me started on the whole blackmail shit, I wanted to throat punch that bish Robin everytime she spoke. The endings of 1 and 2 were good but it was just a lot of back and forth stuff that I just didn't like. Or the fact she wanted to have revenge based on what she heard some girls saying while she was hiding in the bushes.

Conclusion, I had high expectations and they weren't met. Shame on me

Finally we are at the end and get answers to most of the questions that came up in the previous books. I have some mixed feelings about this final book, although I did enjoy reading it. The one thing I didn't care much for was the fade to black scenes. I'm all about details for the steamy bits, and this book definitely does not have them, but I'm sure Beck possibly made that decision based on the age range of the characters. I could be wrong though. I liked the storyline and how everything came together in the end, how reasons for the vengeance some characters had were revealed, how briberies were turned around, and how the group eventually came together as a solid front (took forever, but they got there). You'll notice that the characters had quite the personality change in the final book as well as some feelings were accepted. The guys were a tad mopey sometimes, but I loved how Alex got a bit of a backbone and stood up for herself, making herself clear about what she wanted and expected of the guys in order to be with them without any issues coming between them. Separating herself from them until they all were able to get on the same page was probably one of the best decisions that she made in this series. Overall, I'd definitely read this again!

As the series comes to an end I am disappointed in it. The writing and story was highly entertaining but not at all what I was anticipating in a reverse harem romance novel. There was no romance (in my personal opinion) and the book was highly focused on Alex keeping her secret or trying to just go to school. The plot lacked spice and romance for me and the main character fought more with the "love interest" than anything else. The one "spicey" scene faded to black and I was left with my jaw open because it was the one moment I was waiting for this whole series! The writing and characters were wonderful, I loved reading this series but it was not a romance series in my opinion. I even feel opinionated to say that this wasn't even a real reverse harem series.

3 out of 5 for amazing writing but not what I was looking for. But will be looking for the author more frequently in hopes for spicier reverse harem romances.

I was told this book was a reverse harem, bitch where was it?

I think I was misled coming into this book, I didn’t realise it was youngadult - I just thought it was slow burn.

Book 1 and 2 were bearable but this last book JESUS CHRIST 😩 the plot was all over the place, nothing happened, Alex is a whiny lil bitch, she created all these problems and it sucks having to deal with them. The boys (I refuse to call them men) have the emotional capability and understanding of a rock in fact a rock is probably more developed. Of course there’s gonna be repercussions for your actions - what I don’t get is in book 2 she was kinda friendly with Jasper right even after what happened but this book his enemy number 1 (yes what had was horrible) and I don’t get why.

Her parents & brothers don’t contact her at all during school? These teens don’t use a cell phone once in the entire series - like it’s just a dumb book, with dumb characters, im sad I wasted time waiting for it to get better.

Finally!!!!! Finally our main girl gets her life together and finds her men!! Ugh girl we could have had many more action filled scenes if she’d manned up sooner... that being said I think it was perfect! I wouldn’t have changed how long our MC held out or how this book ended! I loved it and them. Jaspers my boo, I’m glad he’s back! Lol while I love the other two just as much there’s a bigger spot for the underestimates, team carrying man, someone who takes the responsibilities of others on his shoulders to attempt to unburden them and man do I love it! The story was quick to read and fun, dramatic and even filled with plenty of backstabbing twists! An epic read and an amazingly written bully academy romance! Eden Beck, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again... I think I love you! Lol jk but really I do love your works and I can’t wait for the next one!

Hmmm...

I wasn't as thrilled with this book unfortunately. Now, I enjoy steamy books as much as the rest of them, but sometimes if the story is good enough, then its ok if they r not there. This book and series hit about halfway for me. Even with the lack of steam I was able to get into the story and really enjoy it. I loved the enemies to lovers part but it took all the way u til the end for the boys to actually "redeem" themselves, if only a little. At some points Alex was strong but for the most part she was pretty naive and if I'm honest a bit immature, always making decisions based on how she's feeling in that moment instead of really thinking about it. I think the only character I truly loved was heath. This felt more like a ya book to me. I had so many conflicting views of this series but in the end I still enjoyed it which is y I gave the ratings I did.

I give this book a 4 stars as I was happy with how it ended but wanted more. I wanted to see the little details of Alex and her relationships with the boys. I felt some of the details were in those pages we don't get to see but get inklings of what happened behind the scenes of the book. But overall, I really liked how we got that conclusion to the series. There's still lots of answers I would love to know the answers to but happy to make up in my mind what happens between the pages. Overall, this book gave me lots of feels and I loved Alex's struggle throughout the book on how she feels and how to accept that. I can see more to this series in the future if the author chooses to go there. I really enjoyed it as a whole. Great ending!

Thoughts:

HFN, upsetting there was no epilogue. This whole series felt anticlimactic. It all started out as a mistake and turned into revenge for most of the series. It lacked character and relationship development. All of a sudden it was there. The only MMC that had any relationship development was Heath and that was because a good chunk of the second book involved him running with the FMC.

The book also needing editing, there were grammatical and spelling errors throughout the series. Worst in the first book if I remember. Was it enough to affect the reading experience? No, but it was enough that my eye caught it every time.

Wouldn’t read this again which is upsetting because I always enjoy the gender-bending trope, blame Amanda Bynes.

Binged the first couple in the series, but struggled with this one and ended up DNF.
I do like bully genres, and so I thought the start of the series was really good. But it felt a little whiplashed at times with how the FMC changed her emotions and feelings. One minutes enemies, the next she’s dating a couple of people. Then they upset her and so she wants revenge and to hurt them. Some gaps and confusing parts too that didn’t link up.
Wanted to continue with the series, but just found it difficult to like the FMC at this point.

I'm so bummed about this series overall. Going into a bully reverse harem, you expect there to be some steam... but if there's any it's fade to black. The "heroes" personalities seemed interchangeable throughout the books, which made them all seem kind of flat.

Secret/disguised woman/girl is one of my favorite tropes and I was so excited about this series when I first started it. I'm left feeling really underwhelmed and just disappointed. It really had the potential to be so much more than it was. Meh.

I read all three books before I wrote a review. I didn’t like Alex, not in the beginning and not in the end. How is it over a two year period she had no growth? She started at 15 year old, ended at about 17 and still her thought process was like a 13 year old. The storyline is all over the place, some parts made no sense and spelling and grammar mistakes let me know this book was rushed. It was a shame because this series had potential.

I love a good happy ending. BUT I wish this book had more spice, adventure, and just more. It was very well written and had a decent wrap up but some things felt sped up. I highly recommend this book for those who love YA and would like to dive into books that have reverse harems or polyamorous relationships.
