Two wolf shifters in a human prison, in a world that knows nothing of the paranormal, was always going to be a disaster.
Alpha Logan has been in a human prison for years, hiding his shifter identity. One day he smells an omega and his world comes crashing down.
Humans don’t believe the paranormal world is real and everyone wants to keep it that way.
But omegas are gorgeous, sexy as sin, and their pheromones attract humans.
An omega in a prison full of pent up violent men is a disaster. How can Logan keep him safe without revealing his paranormal strength and betraying their kin?
What if he falls for the little omega and starts to believe keeping him safe is more important than keeping the paranormal world hidden?
Feth believes he is a terrible omega. He is relieved when a hot alpha finds him and offers him protection. But pretty soon he messes that up too.
Surviving prison seems easier than working things out with his new alpha.
I love characters who are battered and broken by life, who through the course of finding love, discover they are strong. Despite everything, because of everything, I will always believe that love conquers all.

I loved the combination of stressful prison setting and the going into heat aspect. High stress, high angst. Had the perfect amount of miscommunication/misunderstanding, hurt/comfort, and forced proximity. Very hot.
Feth, a terrified, shy, and abandoned Omega is thrown in jail with a mass of humans. Luckily there's Logan, an Alpha, who takes him under his protection. I tell you, I almost wanted to stop reading this, my heart ached as the pretty but nervous young man gained so much unwanted attention and Logan's guarding him seemed almost overwhelmed. I feared to read what might happen. I'm still a bit of a newbie when it comes to Alpha/Omega stories, I've read a few and enjoyed them but with each one, as with this story, I'm learning more about the ins and outs of it. This was a good read but it had me clenching my stomach through, so fearful for Feth. And, that ending!!!!
A nice little story of two wolf shifters in prison. Normally, a prison couldn’t hold a wolf shifter, but Alpha wolf Logan could not shift when apprehended for a crime as he was on cop cam and the human world would see that shifters are real. Young Omega Feth was in a situation he didn’t create and his pack gave him up to the police and abandoned him. Alpha cannot believe he smells an omega the minute Feth is brought into the prison. Logan ensures that the little omega is his cellmate to protect and ensure he doesn’t shift at each month’s full moon. The MCs had good chemistry and were attractively written. The narrative was marred by the dusty trope of ‘the big misunderstanding’ and a lack of communication. I almost DNF when this silliness went on too long. The story improved and it was a nice read with little depth. It had some good prison sex, the ‘shhh, everyone is listening’ kind, lol. It was a good scene when Logan being released first just couldn’t leave his mate behind at the prison gate.
Let's be honest, we're not here for the plot and that's completely alright. 🧑🦼
The story start when a young and terrified omega find his way in a prison full of humans. Of course, there's an alpha in the mix otherwise where the fun would be 🤌 Miscommunication and misunderstanding take the BIGGEST part in this book, not gonna lie it's my nemesis! That's the reason I'll not give more than 3* sadly
Otherwise it was a nice read if you don't want something too heavy who require all your braincells
Ok, for the record, I actually love a good prison story, and I really wanted to like this book - and there were parts that I did - but overall, I was a bit disappointed. I could get behind the story of an Alpha wolf shifter in prison who ends up taking charge of an Omega wolf when he is brought in, and I thought that the relationship between the two men was written well enough. Of course, being in prison and unable to shift was a huge stressor but then add in the complication of an omega going into heat and it set up for a good storyline. It wasn't overly detailed or layered but I was ok with that, and would probably have bumped my rating to 4* stars except for the entire last half of the book! There is nothing in the blurb that says this book is part of a series, or an already established world, but random bits are dropped throughout that leave you scrambling to figure out if you've missed something, when in reality, the book assumes you already have some background knowledge. Then ... Then, just when I'm thinking I can deal with this, the author literally slams the story into hyperdrive and we're left with the most rushed, most farfetched, and incredulous ending ever and I was like "Wth?!" Absolutely nothing about how things resolved had any bearing on the storyline or the characters - in fact, it is like reading about totally different characters! I'm ok with a little bit of suspending belief because it's fiction, but when the MC's act completely out of character, I find it gratingly annoying! The general idea in this book was unique and interesting, it's just too bad that the author couldn't keep it going. Definitely a disappointment and I'll not be looking for more at this rate!
ORIGINAL READ 2-19-23: Somehow, I managed to mark this one as "read" but missed giving it a star rating? I do remember liking it, but now I just...
RE-READ 5-7-25: ...because I got on a kick with this author and hadn't realized before that this one was in the same world as a few of their other books. The re-read was just as fun as I remember it being the first time, with the added bonus of a little more depth since now I understood the references to cameo characters from the rest of the paranormal world here. Feth was deliciously sweet and submissive, but had just enough backbone to keep him interesting, too. Logan was wonderfully alpha, even if a lot of that *is* due to biology in this world, and while it definitely could have been a stronger story with a little more detail fleshed out about just why Logan was so I will always be a sucker for the growly overprotective touch-him-and die alpha/omega dynamic. (Even if, in this case, there was a hot second where it looked like Logan was going to have to
Luckily, of course, that didn't end up being the case, and I enjoyed it thoroughly!
I loved the premise of this, but the execution was....meh. The book opens with alpha Logan noticing that Feth (seriously??), a new inmate being brought in, is an omega. He is able to get the guard to put Feth in his cell, and within five minutes Feth goes into heat, but Logan is able to bang him out of it in a jiffy.
I wasn't really a fan of the kinda of non-con/dub-con going on here. The guys have just met, Feth seems more scared of Logan than interested, and Logan is angry that Feth has obviously been used and abused by his pack but at the same happy that he gets to make use of him too. I read darker romances, so it's not really that there's dub-con that's an issue for me. Something about the way it's set up or the lack of knowing the characters beforehand. I just didn't like it.
The writing style also wasn't working for me. A lot of telling over showing and it feels like you're getting the sped up summary of what happens rather than the actual story.
S. Rodman has crafted a wonderful short read. If you have read the blurb about this book, you pretty much know what your getting from the story. Logan is an alpha who I have come to love. You come to realize that he isn't your traditional alpha. He is really a very caring person even though he has to act differently because of where he is. Feth is an insecure and afraid of most things. Both Logan and Feth have issues to work through. Can they become more than just prison mated? You will have to read the book to find out. I would definitely recommend this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
There’s something unforgettable about Prison Mated. It’s not a comfortable story — and that’s exactly why it works. It presses into the raw, unguarded places of emotion and asks what we’re really made of when love collides with fear. I felt every pulse of it — the tension, the surrender, the quiet ache that follows release.
S. Rodman doesn’t shy away from the darker side of intimacy, and that’s what makes this story feel so alive. It’s bold, emotional, and beautifully vulnerable. By the end, I found myself sitting in silence, the kind that only follows a book that’s dared to touch something real.
I like Rodman's characters and voice as always, but the lack of understanding of both the prison settings, systems both formal and informal and current legal and systemic protections of inmates was painfully obvious. It was like the only research was A&E and Netflix shows. Too many routines that should have been there weren't, and too many details were just wrong for a medium security unit. Google PREA and/or its British equivalent if nothing else.
I was scrolling through KU and saw PRISON MATED and was oddly intrigued. What WOULD happen if an alpha and omega met in human prison?
My only real issue was that when Feth and Logan are out of prison, the story just ends. Like, what happened? Where did they go? What happens when they get there? I needed at least 10 more chapters to find out.
This was a fun and quick read. I wish i knew more about each main character. I liked both of them and was happy when Logan got his head out of his ass LOL
Recommended if you like abo stories! Again, this was a quickie!
This is a short and not always sweet read because well they're in prison but I definitely enjoyed it. If you read the blurb you pretty much know exactly what you're going to get from this book there's no mystery or big plot its a simple book and sometimes that's just what you want. I liked that Logan wasn't a douchecanoe of an alpha he always tried to be kind even when that wasn't always easy to do.
A new to me author, I went in to this one with no expectations. I still didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did!
I really enjoyed this author's writing style and characterisation. Everything just grabbed me and wouldn't let go. So much so that I've now added their entire back catalogue to my TBR!
If their other books engage me on the same level, I may have just found another favourite author!
S. Rodman is now on my list of favorite authors because of this story, Prison Mated. It’s exactly what I’ve been yearning: a sweet, young innocent omega (Feth) with an older , experienced and strong Alpha. Though Feth is an omega, and has been abused , he’s strong when he needed to be strong.
I really enjoyed reading this story and I loved the main characters. They have all the tropes and themes I crave and constantly searching for.
I love how S Rodman’s books are all based in the same universe and have returning characters in them. Even the theme of the Fae trying to get back to Earth which is just lightly touched upon in this novel is carried throughout them and ties the different time periods together. As always this book had a strong individual story line and engaging characters; lots of heat and lots of action. It is a winner though and through.
SUUUUPER fast plot. like one minute we are meeting the characters, and then BAM, they be fuckin.
I did LIKE the characters, and the plot had lots of potential. It was just rushed, the whole book was rushed. The romance, the conflict, the resolution, the ending, all of it. So it was good! and I had fun reading it, but it was just tooooooo fast. Could have used like, and extra 50-75 pages so things could have slowed down some.
It took me forever to finish this book. I got really annoyed by the 'misunderstanding' that occured simply because they did not talk to each other or at least ask one simple question. The ending felt rushed and like the book would be a sequel as new characters (with kind of an important back story) were introduced in the last few chapters. These characters talked like the reader should know their story already ... and I have not found a corresponding book (even though I would love to read about them).
I absolutely love this story! It's sexy and has all the feels to make you swoon! Omega Feth is brilliant. Full of surprises. And alpha Logan learns so many truths about himself and life brought forth from the beautiful Feth that has crash landed in his cell. This story is so full of tension, your heart will burst with so much emotion it will flash through your body with an inferno!!! Not kidding! Well constructed story and beautifully defined characters!😍😍😘
The saying usually goes if you find yourself in jail establish dominance quickly but in this case it was the opposite. This was a cute, steamy, quick read. It had good plot and all the spice, ending left a little to desire but definitely glad I read it.
I like almost everything about this. It had a bit of everything I love in a book: drama, jealousy, possessiveness, and so on pack into a short story (at least I felt it was short, so definitelyshould have been longer). I also wanted something bad to happen to Smiths and want to know why one eye Pete was a backstabbing a**hat.
Não sei porque insisto em ler livros curtos, eles sempre deixam a desejar pra mim. Esse foi ainda pior porque senti que eu estava totalmente perdida no universo do autor, com menções a acontecimentos de outros livros e aparecimento de alguns personagens no final.
I love this authors work and how each book is some how linked to the rest with a character or two popping up. Honestly it’s a fantastic set of stories that can be read alone but their work is too good not to find the read order. Highly recommended
DNF @ 85%. This was a very surface book. No real depth at all. I didn’t understand the shifter dynamic or their customs or really anything. I skimmed after about 40ish% to see if it would get better, and it did not…so I’m calling it.
An interesting take on the shifter world and omegaverse. Like the little twist in the end and happy to see Max and Atti from Dark Mage Chained making an appearance.
