He’s locked out of important business opportunities. She’s determined to land the internship in his corporation. A workplace romance isn’t on either of their bucket lists.
Easton Winslow has been checking off her goals. Undergrad from Brown University. Check. MBA from Yale. Check. Her next goal is an internship at a Fortune 500 Company. She’s hardly given five minutes at the interview with Systems Aware, and she learns that Mr. Preston is more interested in hiring a mini-me than taking her interview seriously. However, she has connections he wants—and she’s willing to make a trade.
CEO, Royce Preston has recently opened a new office for his successful internet security firm. As “new money,” his opportunity to associate with the influential business owners in the region has been nonexistent. So when Easton offers him the introductions he needs, he has to take the deal, but he doesn't have to like it—or her.
What neither of them wanted out of the deal was falling in love.
This one had a lot of potential, but there were a couple of small plot issues and some edit errors. I've raised those through Kindle edits, so they can get fixed for the next readers (read in March 2023). Overall, I thought the storyline had potential, but the characters seemed to lack a lot of depth.

A nice workplace romance with the fake romance angle thrown in. I liked how Easton tackled her work and saved the day multiple times. Royce was very sweet with her. The only thing missing was the story of how Easton’s nickname came to be Cricket. I’m dying to know.

MY TAKE Jo Noelle always writes such fun characters, witty and engaging. When Easton and Royce first meet at a coffee shop and start flirting with each other, they have no idea that they're about to meet in an interview where he as the CEO will be selecting an intern. Then a different kind of spark flies.
From then on, they bounce back and forth between their attraction for each other and their frustration at their situation. As they get to know each other, they find they're both guilty of misjudging. The romance is sizzling but sweet.
It's bucket-list story, so the reader's taken to a couple of fun (and amazing) locations. As I was reading one, I had to go online and look up pictures. Beautiful!
I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Book Synopsis: "He’s locked out of important business opportunities without her. She’s determined to land the internship in his corporation. A workplace romance isn’t on either of their bucket lists. This is the story of a woman who wants a job internship very badly. She prepares and she knows that she is their best choice, but the interview goes badly so she has to think of something to get that job. The owner of the business just starting up in this area very much wants a way in to some of the events in the area, somewhere he can make contacts - and she knows how to get in - well, her aunt and mother chair most of these events! She promises to get him in if he will give her the internship. At the event he slips up and calls her his fiancé! Oh dear, now they have to play at being together - but we all know how that ends up! With a few bumps in the road this finally gives us a happy ending! I like happy endings!
This is a clean read although there is some slang used.
I loved this book and couldn't put it down. Easton is a planner, she even planned her life down to the minutes. She had a few to spare before a big important interview. Running into a hot guy wasn't planned but never unwanted. The big surprise once she wanted into the interview was that the hot guy she flirted with is now interviewing her. And she bombs the interview hard.
How can she salvage it? She makes a deal that's all business. After falling for Royce, she has to tell her heart it's just business. I think she's going a little crazy just to get an internship.
There were high stakes for both Easton and Royce. I liked their chemistry. I wished at the end, that Royce would make Easton co CEO or something so she could cross another thing off her bucket list.

I like that Easton wouldn't let him get away with anything. But she changed as soon as the original premise was over. And those team building exercises are awful. You build a team by treating people like people every single day. I would like to know whether she wore her engagement ring everywhere or if she just wore it when playing the part of his fiancee. And honestly, she learned he's rich but not much else as far as his personality. While he learned all about her. Both examples are failings of the writing. There was a focus on stuff that doesn't matter while important things are left forgotten. Like whether or not normal people at the office would have asked questions about her fiance.
Their meet cute is fun. Their second meeting a disaster. I actually blame him for that one. He didn't act very professional at all but I guess that set up how the next part went down... I liked the characters who took their accidental fake relationship quite seriously. Instead of just giving each other a list of their life details they actually spent time together outside of the events they planned to attend. And as feelings grew, they enjoyed that time all the more. I loved that Easton was such a determined and hard working person. Very goal oriented. And I loved that Royce was genuinely good and wanted to give something important to people in need.
Basically this is a feel-good, light romance that is just enjoyable to read.
Easton and Royce start off with a bargain that you just have to accept. After that, the story follows a common arc with a few interesting twists. The character development is great and the evolving relationship keeps your interest. The supporting cast get fleshed out enough to make the story more than two dimensional. I was able to make an early good guess at one plot event which tells me the story feels believable. I enjoyed the story and felt invested in the outcome. I can definitely recommend this book.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! It's a sweet & delightful story. Wonderful characters & romance make it the perfect read! Easton & Royce, had a chance meeting, when getting coffee. The next time they see each other, is when Royce, was interviewing, Easton. The interview was a bust, but they struck a little deal, to benefit themselves. On the first "date", Royce announces that he & Easton are engaged. Now the fun begins. I loved everything about it!!!
What starts as a smart business deal soon into so much more. But things are complicated. 2 interns want the one job and one of them will go to any means to get what he wants. She has a choice to make break her heart and his too or have his company take a hit. What lengths would you go for the one you love.
I really like the 'paying it forward' concept; the school project they started is a really great idea. I love it when people/characters make a positive difference in other's lives. That and the main characters themselves were really inspiring. Thank you for a great evening's read.
New to me authors and I’m glad to say they will keep me reading for a while!!! This book was great. I loved the sweet romance and how Easton and Royce gravitated to each other and how naturally everything fell together for them. They work so well together and make a great amount of change for good in their world.
Easton and Royce are both very strong and independent people who will go to great lengths to get what they want. Who knew that getting what they wanted would lead to getting what they needed. They are both great people that you can't help but cheer for. They are good alone, but so much better together. This was a fun sweet romance.
This one was so fun!! Easton is privileged and grew up with a healthy dose of money and prestige in her community but is a hard worker. She worms her way into an awesome internship with Mr Prestons company. He doesn’t want to but after she is hired he starts to see the benefits of her working there. Clean romance for sure and a fun story.
Great business aspect between the two main characters. Loved how current company policies and passions also played into the romance and growth of the characters and the story. Super bucket list completion.
This story was well written the characters were awesome. I the Royce took Eastons bucket list to heart. The story was awesome! I would recommend this book to anyone that reads. I gave this book 5 stars because it was hard to put down, fun, while still a romantic read.
Ok so I did not expect a good that looks as if it is an add for a Fiancée, to be so good. Love the fact that these two fell os well for each other and that it worked, in all the best ways.
I could just see this happening. I just loved everything... The dedication to the company, the brilliance shared with the community, and the laughter and joy shared with employees.
Quiero un Royce, ese hombre necesita ser guardado en una cajita y hay que cuidarlo por siempre. Estuvo muy simple pero muy lleno de sentimientos, ay que cursi me puso esto. (En kindle tiene una mejor portada)
She wants the intern job, but it all goes wrong when she realizes the boss is the guy she flirted with at the Coffe shop! They make a deal and then he announces their engagement in front of her parents after a week. How will this work out?
This was a short read and moved rather quickly. Some very humorous parts and some great karma achieved. Love the bucket list, the meet cute, and all the awkward work moments. Really sweet but left a few questions unanswered. Join me in disliking Landon. Clean romance.
A great book, I loved Easton and Royce's story. These two had a confusing relationship from the beginning but has a wonderful ending that made me smile
