A trip through time. A mission for justice. A momentous journey.
War is on the horizon.
After Asha uses her power to turn back time, she vows to protect her loved ones from the Queen of Althuria’s wrath. Her efforts bring her into a desperate rebellion, guiding her outside of Althuria and all she’s ever known. Despite lingering doubts about her diplomatic abilities, she seeks the Eltyr dwarves in the great Mystil Mountains for their advanced weapons, the rebel forces for their manpower, and the Lanthan Eternos tower to restore the balance of magic across the world.
But it quickly becomes clear that her actions are painting a target on her back…and placing her allies in the line of fire. With danger following her every step and spies lurking in the shadows, how far will Asha go to get what she needs? Will her struggle devolve into chaos, or will she prevail with the full force of her might?
And, most importantly… Can she win against the Queen?
Runes and Rebellion is a journey of the strongest friendships, the worst betrayals, and the mightiest foes. This is the third instalment in the Althuria Chronicles coming-of-age fantasy series.

With war still looming, Asha uses her power to give her more time and to reset some tragic events. Knowing that she must protect everyone from the Queen, she does her best to gather allies and others who may be sympathetic to her cause. Despite resetting the clock, she soon realizes that she is still in grave danger and may be endangering those closest to her.
This is a difficult review for me to write, because I loved the first book and enjoyed the second work as well as the prequel. I hate having to give this book a low rating, but I was extremely disappointed by it.
The characters were stagnant – there was no real growth or development involved for any of the characters in this work, making them all feel flat and lacking. This also made it difficult to connect to the characters or feel any real emotional connection to their plight.
There were also some instances of plot-induced stupidity that detracted from my enjoyment of the work. Related to this, Asha was supposed to be in a major hurry to get to the tower, but instead took her time getting there, hung out a few places, and generally just dawdled. She was supposed to be racing there, but this sense of urgency just wasn’t present, which also detracted from my investment in the story. I also felt that almost nothing happened during this work. There was no real plot and aside from a few encounters, the majority of the book didn’t really contribute anything meaningful to the series.
I was disappointed by this work, especially as I enjoyed the previous works so much. I’d like to continue reading the series, but I hope the author makes some changes in the future books.
I received an advance review copy of this work, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
Runes and Rebellion is the next book in the fantastic series. Asha gets a chance to redo her mistakes after the void allows her to time travel back to the past. She discloses her tale to her sister and Professor Silvestri, which leads her to the journey to the the dwarves and black dagger resistance group. It was sad to see loss of her closest friendships, but Asha is really an intricately written character. 5/5 stars
Thanks to Ryver Knight & Book Sirens, I was lucky enough to receive an eARC of the YA fantasy Runes and Rebellion!
In this new instalment, Asha must now get to the Eternos tower in Lanthany & restore the balance of magic in the world. But it’s not going to be easy, with the Red Shields hunting her. The rebels are without weapons, the dwarves have no time to make more, & there are spies & traitors lurking everywhere…
Asha has (mostly) grown in maturity, & is therefore incredibly determined to do what’s right. But because she isn’t silly, she also knows that she can’t defeat the Queen single-handed. I really enjoy how Asha approaches her goals, & that she isn’t afraid to stand up for what’s right. Out of everyone, Asha knows what the future could look like, & doesn’t let her youth stand in the way of what she needs to accomplish. I love that! How many younger people are told they don’t know what they’re talking about? Runes and Rebellion is a wonderful vehicle for this truth: everyone has a voice. And your words matter just as much as anyone else’s, regardless of your age.
I also love that there are consequences to using the void magic improperly. And it’s not something to be taken lightly. When the magic is used for a drastic & awful purpose, Asha can’t simply say sorry. That’s not enough. I really enjoyed that the void makes Asha fully realise (& empathise) why she was wrong to force it’s hand.
There are a few moments when I again wanted to shake Asha. I think that may just be a recurring thing for me with her character. Her heart is in the right place, but there are times when she talks herself in circles… But at least it’s a good sign that I’m so invested in her journey!
This is a fast paced fantasy book, written with a light humorous touch. Perfect fantasy for the YA group and for those with many more years of experience. Well worth a read. Asha’s story continues. She thinks she now has a way to defeat the evil Queen. Asha has always had strength when she isn’t doubting herself, and her heart is the right place. She wants to protect those she loves. But she can also be naïve and rash, and that can get her into lots of trouble. Will she be able to save her sister, friends and country? Read the book and find out. This is the third book in the Althuria Chronicles; there is enough to let you read this book without reading the others, but having read the first two books I suggest that if you’ve got this one get the others too. Again I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Thank you to Ryver Knight and BookSirens for letting me read an ARC. The views expressed are all mine.
This is the third book in a series. This book picks up where it stopped in the second book. Asha has turned back time to protect those she loves. She has to get them to one remember and two to trust her. She needs to figure out how to stop the queen without causing the death of her loved ones. It was a little slow at the beginning but it picked up near the end. I am waiting for the next installment of the story. This was the third book in this series (technically the fourth, if you count the prequel novella). I'm still intrigued by the world and the overall story, but the main character's decisions and actions are getting more difficult to follow now. Again, Asha is a 16-year-old, so not all of her decisions need to make sense, really. I think I'm having more of an issue with how many stupid/random things keep interrupting Asha's plans, and with how choppy/disjointed some of the story has gotten. Important details about characters are just suddenly mentioned by the main character as if these were something we already knew, and yet they're details that are entirely new to me. I don't know, it's starting to feel a little like the author has a lot of ideas for how the plot should continue, but she's having a bit of trouble keeping them straight and making sure they flow logically. I hope she can get things sorted out, because I really would like to know how the story works out in the end!

I loved this book, as Asha and her friends try to defeat the evil queen. Asha learns more about the void and her relationship with it develops, The story is a real page turner and well worth reading I can't wait for the next episode.
I was expecting more. I liked the second book better. This one left me confused. I enjoyed following Asha to the new places she visited, but even though she was in a hurry, she did take her time, with no explanation. The characters felt static. Nothing changed. I know that this is supposed to be a different timeline, but I was expecting a change, given the circumstances. In all it was an okay read, tho, I was expecting a different continuation of the story.

Runes and Rebellion is Book 3 of the Althuria Chronicles by Ryver Knight. I thought that this book was fantastic. The characters that are central to the previous books are also important in Runes and Rebellion. I learned that the void is a living and intelligent being and is connected strongly to Asha. This fantasy has betrayal, dark magic, and the beginning of a rebellion. The Queen is powerful but the rebellion has heart. I can't wait for the next book. An exhilarating and mind-bending story that leaves you wanting for more.
What would you do differently if you had a do-over in life again? Asha finds herself at this crossroad, determined not to let her sister and friends die. But crippled by the horrors she endured in the other timeline, nothing is going her way. And what's with bruiser, is he a dog, a raven, or a shapeshifter? It's now obvious he is some kind of protector, but why?
On her way to Lanthany, Asha's journey takes her to the Mystil Mountains to find some allies to fight the Queen. But there is a spy in their midst that would turn her world upside down. All hope is lost when everything turns against her, even people close to her, betraying her every move. The Queen wins again?
It is certain that do-overs aren't necessarily better, because you are always at a disadvantage against evil who knows no rules.
A whole new world opens when Asha makes the journey to Lanthany. The world-building is amazing, with different magical and nonmagical beings working together or fighting each other. It is sure an emotional rollercoaster with plot twists you never see coming. And the surely inserting whatever you are doing, the Queen will always find you.
The end ended in a kind of cliffhanger, will Asha be able to right her failures or did she doom Althuria to eternal hell? I cannot wait to go on another exhilarating magical adventure.
In this story, our intrepid heroine just turned back time and we pick up right where Althurian Chronicles #2 left off. I think this story is a very important one in the Althurian Chronicles. Not only does Asha learn more about her powers, but she also learns more about her friends and enemies as well. I can see that Asha has grown a lot in this story and some of the lessons she’s had to learn were learned the hard way. She’s had to learn to trust her gut more and when something doesn’t feel right, it’s for a reason. Not to mention, she learns a lot more about Bruiser. I really enjoyed this installment of the series and can’t wait to read the next!
I really liked this next installment in the Althuria Chronicles .
Asha is still the headstrong girl with her own ideas and plans, this time she takes some more advise from her friends and some magical creature and her protector. She lives and she learns.
The storyline sometimes still is a bit fast and you miss some thought process and emotional bonds. But I still was not able to put this book away, it leaves you in anticipation on what comes next.
Very much looking forward to the next book in this serie.

Asha tries to change the outcome of her actions in this book. She wants to save and protect her sister Althena and friends, Lex, Zaniyah, and Professor Sylvester. The choices that she makes will determine whether the Queen will win or not. She is betrayed in this story that is full of adventure and learns that there is consequences to using the void the wrong way. I look forward to reading the next book. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this book was lacking something for me. There is certainly lots of action and story telling, I liked the time travel element but I would like more character development I think. There was a huge betrayal towards the end and yet it was barely touched upon, I would have liked to see more of Asha’s reaction to that and more of the romance that keeps being teased throughout the books.

Amazing job on this one as well. Wonder when the next one is coming out, I really hate that it is somewhat in a cliff hanger. I am waiting with bated breath to find out when the next book in the Altheria series will be out. The books so far have not disappointed me one bit. I really want to like this more than I feel like I am. I was a bit frustrated with Asha in this book. I really hope the next book helps bring everything together in a satisfactory way :)
I… I never saw the plot twist coming! I totally recommend this book to everyone. This book has power, it connects to you as no other book can. The author really put some magic in it xD. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is my fourth book in the series and it was worth the wait.
The author used time travel in a way I haven’t read before - pretty much the entire book is a rewrite of the previous. The main character is able to retain her memories of the future in order to attempt changing it (don’t wanna spoil). It’s not an alternative book, as having read the others does help. And the author does add some new elements to avoid a stale retelling. The characters would need to make different choices than they did in the previous future, so readers can expect a somewhat fresh story. Think of it kinda like a “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure’ tale without all of the page-flipping!
Food for thought: I don’t know if I would want void magic or anything similar. Too much pressure. ‘The decision should be simple, but knowing the consequences and possible futures makes it so much harder.’
An uplifting quote – certainly more realistic that ‘you can do anything you set your mind to do: ‘Improbable is not impossible.’
