Is it possible for two wounded hearts to heal each other?
Widowed Josie returns to her childhood small town in Washington to help her mother save the family business after her father dies. She has to put her sorrow aside and give her young daughter the best life possible. That means there’s no time for dating—not that she has any interest in romance.
When Jacob’s wife and unborn daughter are taken from him suddenly, he moves to where they planned to build a home and raise a family. It didn’t take long for the ladies to notice the new widower, but dating is the furthest thing from Jacob’s mind. A former soldier and medic, he volunteers where he’s needed.
Duty brings him to Josie’s side after her wilderness fall. Jacob didn’t plan to rescue a damsel in distress. Neither wants to fall in love.
Combine one small town with two hearts that need healing, mix in a dollop of spice and you have the perfect setup for this second chance romance. Begin reading today.

Loved the banter between these 2! Ex- military medic meets widowed single mom who both swore off love. Could not get enough of these 2 and binged this book within hours of starting it.
I enjoyed this debut romance from an author who decided to show up the Hallmark movies that we all love and enjoy. This is a book that covers many aspects of romance such as love, loss, grief, second chances, and secrets. We learn what the two main characters are passionate about and get a front row seat for when they get passionate with each other. This one is a bit more descriptive that just fading to black but not super steamy where you have to hide to read. I think you'll enjoy learning about Josie and Jacob. Just a bit of warning about some violence in the story.
This is a cute story between two people who have both lost a lot. Both widowed, Julie and Jacob are drawn to each other and as their relationship develops, the small town rallies behind them. But not everything is as cut a dry.
I enjoyed the fastness of the relationship but the secondary plot came out of nowhere and took this book into a 180 spin. It was handled okay but it felt a little too fast of a spin for me. And I didn’t think there was a need for the third act breakup thing.
Wow! What an amazing read! I was enthralled from beginning to end. I found myself inside the pages of this book walking Han in hand with Josie and Jacob. I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop reading until the very last words when you hooked me with teddy bears, tears streaming and my heat attached to this story I had to continue straight until the end! I can’t wait to read more amazing stories from you!
I at first didn’t know what to think of this book because of the cover picture. It didn’t draw mean but I figured I’ll read a few chapters and see if I like it. Let’s just say don’t judge a book by its cover. This book is a heart warming breath of fresh air. The Author connects two people who so deserve to fine love and brings them together through loss. I really enjoyed reading about Josie and Jacob and their journey to find love thru loss.
I thought I would leave the m safe I sent to the author as my review I actually really liked this book and for a first time book and male author writing romance he smashed it Well done in the “ sex scenes “ I must say I really enjoyed the lunch time girl crew You had laughs throughout with great banter between characters Well done
Hi Bob I just wanted to say I just finished reading Second Chances and I actually really enjoyed it I back and forth’d a few times and then decided nope I did like it lol I really enjoyed when Josie was taken and Jacob was in military mode I’ve always wondered how people move on and read and live 2nd chance romances, especially when a partner has passed, but in this case both Loved how it started and I can’t wait to read your next book
Wonderful book with characters that you really come to care about. Jacob is the ultimate quiet, hot, caring guy, and Josie is strong, independent, and a great mom to her little girl! The story has just enough steam and even some suspense in the story to keep it exciting. Fast read & I really recommend it to anyone looking for a small town second chance romance. I compare it to Catherine Cowles with a bit of Meghan Quinn thrown in for good measure!
