"She didn't need help. She needed saving." She must have tripped over a worm hole or kicked a glitch in the multi-verse. Going to the family reunion after renouncing the faith she grew up in was supposed to be bad enough. But wrong numbers started piling up. When she'd blocked them all, the weird text messages began. Once those cryptic messages continued, notifications to make her skin crawl followed her to work and Hadassah saw the lives of the children she cared for at the daycare put at risk. Yet even if she locked herself in her apartment, there didn't seem to be anywhere or any way to hide. Until a man with dark blue eyes and broad shoulders stepped between her and terror in a split instant of do-or-die. Hadassah knows trauma can make strange bedfellows but she can't let herself drown in Jay's eyes or hide in his embace when eerie messages seem to catalogue her every move. Fighting the stalker behind the digital screen is impossible. Standing ground against the way her heart moves when he agrees to help seems undoable. But it's move or be the victim, stand still or shake free. Author Bree M. Lewandowski is finally back with the third romantic suspense novella in the Heart-Racing Romance series! certain situations in this book may be triggering and/or upsetting.
Having lived all her life in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, author Bree M. Lewandowski incorporates all aspects of her life in her writing. A ballet dancer at a young age, continuing to teach ballet through her career as an author, she often turns to the tumultuous world of dance to find threads of a story. In love with classical literature, her writing not only pays homage to the style of writers like Dumas and Hugo, she also believes in creating main characters who are larger than life. Yet, struggles with body image, mental and emotional health, and the strained relationships so many have also play in and out of Lewandowski's writing. In the end, all these attributes combined, she loves to tell a love story.
Interesting story, I received for a blind date. The religious part was not my cup of tea but the mystery was intriguing. Are the strange text messages coming from a stranger, a stalker or a member of her family? She meets a truck driver at work who saves her from danger. He becomes her hero. Will their pretend relationship draw out the stalker and is this chemistry real? This was a quick afternoon read and it kept me wondering.
Dassa being born into a Jewish family becomes Christian and when shares her views with her mother, she becomes disowned and the black sheep of the family. When she heads to a family gathering in the park urged by her sister she is not well received. Soon after she starts to receive strange texts from different numbers, and after a scary accident at her daycare, she starts to realize the events are connected. The guy she met the night of the accident who was there making deliveries saves Dassa from being followed as she ran errands. Together they hatch a plan to dissuade the stalker by playing boyfriend/girlfriend. Playing the roles they start to realize that there is more between them and start to care for one another. Can they draw the stalker out and put an end to it once and for all?
Hadassah really does make quite the damsel in distress as you get to see not only the effects that having a stalker has on her, but also how hard it is for her family to accept her. I loved Jay, he is the best kind of guy to come to her rescue, and even after barely meeting her, he’s willing to keep her safe. Their chemistry is slow to build, if you can see that they really could become a great couple. Can Jay keep her safe though before he tries to possibly win her heart?.

Shake is an interesting romantic thriller with a religious undertone. Hadassah (Das) converts to Christianity and her Jewish mother disowns her. She starts receiving unusual texts then an event occurs that shakes her spirit and brings Jay into her life. Jay tries to protect her as they try to figure out who is behind the texts. Their attraction to each other plays out beautifully in this riveting book that kept me captivated to the end. I highly recommend this unique suspenseful story.

Shake was a very good story edge of your seat read. Hadassah is getting strange calls and texts she doesn't know who they are from. She does what most would do block block block. One evening while at work she meets an ex marine and then lives through a horrible evening. This was a good suspense romantic read

I enjoyed the storyline in this book, but the writing seemed a little messy. I sometimes had a hard time figuring out what was happening because the writing was unclear or didn't flow seamlessly. That being said, once I got to understand what the story was about, I enjoyed it. I liked the main character Hadassah and I liked Jay, and I thought the ending was the highlight.
Hadassah has picked up a stalker in her life. She has no clue how, who or why. When she calls in Jay for help, their attraction starts and things with the stalker elevate. This book is edge-of-your-seat suspenseful.
