Her brother, in an effort to protect his own inheritance, steps in to ensure the truth is never uncovered.

Complex and intriguing characters drive this captivating novel that was hard for me to put down!
A multigenerational family story that explores the power of love and resilience through tragedy and estrangement and final resolution. Converse's lush writing probes real conflicts that face her characters as they individually navigate the changing world of the 60's -80' in America. Multi-general conflicts, ambition and dreams war, drugs, prejudices and the saving power of true love.
