I struck an impossible bargain to protect the ones I love. I thought I could win his mercy. But Mafia boss Nero Barretti doesn’t know the meaning of the word.
Now, the stakes of this twisted game are higher than ever. And the passion runs even hotter.
Because it’s not just my life on the line anymore. It’s my heart.
Roxy Sloane is a romance junkie with a dirty mind. She lives in Los Angeles and loves writing sexy, complex stories about pushing the boundaries and risking it all.
dnf! ok ok so i’m like halfway thru this book & im not gonna lie i might j have to stop here. i cannot fucking stand it. as i get further & further into the book, i continue questioning why the fuck i’m reading it. why am i putting myself in this pain? is this a form of self punishment for me? i fully cannot take this anymore. it is so unbelievably cringey. here’s a line from our fav (not.) lily, after they finish doin the deed. “i was just thinking… every time, it’s the best i’ve ever had. and then you go and raise the bar again.” lily, i mean this from the bottom of my heart, go off yourself. please. ok i get that this quote pulled might not seem that cringe (it still is tho, cmon) but with context it’s even worse. i mean she fucking “nestles” closer to him. goddamn. what is this cringe ass shit. imagine saying this irl. like just imagine for one fucking second someone saying this to you. i’d laugh my fucking ass off. it’s so cringe, their relationship disgusts me. also, the whole concept of her snitching/not snitching annoys me. like why does she feel this moral high ground & like she’s better than his “empire”? it really pisses me off. like their “you think you’re better than me?” dynamic makes me want to bash my head into a wall repeatedly. i feel like i find a lot of these troupes attractive & i love reading them, (i mean obviously since i picked up this fucking book) but somehow, this series has made every single troupe/thing i find hot into something unbelievably cringey. this book fr might put me in a reading slump, and therefore, for my mental health & well-being, i might have to stop reading it. <3 update from as i’ve sat with myself, questioned my life decisions, and thought about if i will actually commit & finish this fucking book even with the personal cost i face by forcing myself to read this: yeah i’m going back to re-reading the ritual, that shit hits. if u somehow stumble across this review, do yourself a favor, instead of reading this, read the ritual by shantel tessier. thank me later :p HOLD THE FUCK UP. IVE JUST LEARNED THIS IS A TRILOGY??? AINT NO WAY. AINT NO FUCKING WAY. CMON. SERIOUSLY??? jesus fucking christ.
I was greatly disappointed in the second book. It was literally exactly like the first book just worse. They make up they feel the feels for each other have all the sex miscommunicate then don't talk about it then they hate each other and then the cycle starts all over again and that's literally what the whole book is. I will not be reading the last one.
Hahaha, I'm laughing at myself because I know I should have better taste of books now that I'm an adult, but no. At least this is a step up from the Horrorscape series! I can give myself some credit there. Nero is definitely not Gavin. Anyway.
I read this book right after finishing the first, because I have a shitty memory and I wanted to just power through them. I'm currently still getting through the third/last one. The lines between each book have blurred a little and I'm trying to recall how this one started.
I'm not making this as long as the last review because, honestly, I doubt anyone is reading this. I like hearing myself type but I know when to stop, sort of.
Anyway (x2), I first thought I liked this book slightly more than the first, but now that I've mulled it over, I think I like it about the same, which is that I don't but kinda do like it but still sorta don't. I think the fact that they finally started to mutually like each other made me happy, but that made what happened even more annoying. I just wanted them to talk and sort things out, and they did at one point, but then more miscommunications come crashing down and ruin things again.
That's a trend with this series, as I mentioned in my last review (not that you read it): this series loves miscommunication. It's based on that, it continues to build plot on that, and I'm sure it'll end on it in some way, shape, or form.
If you care to browse through my highlights, there were several points where Lily did stupid shit, as she's prone to do, that we all knew would later cause problems. The main one was that she speaks to a divorce lawyer AFTER she and Nero FINALLY sort out the huge miscommunication of the first book, him thinking she was involved in the betrayal of his father. She got the guy's info prior to that, then she and Nero make up, then she still makes an appointment to go see the lawyer and gives him the OK to get the paperwork ready, just in case. Like why, girl. I literally highlighted that part and said it would come back later, and sure enough, it eventually does. I can't remember if it was this book or the next.
Another thing that annoyed me about this series is the fact that, despite being a super overprotective and controlling guy, Nero leaves her alone on multiple occasions in the weirdest places. Like the club, when Chase found her and fucked things up like he always does, sending us into the big confrontation of the second book. Why would Nero leave her alone in a club? I mean, I guess he can't take her with him to the bathroom, but why doesn't he just hold it since they're about to go home? I dunno.
Overall, this book was a little more exciting than the first, and like I said, I liked them liking each other, and I didn't mind the eventual fallout, I was just mad about the reason. I know this type of book is ultra cringe, but still sometimes kinda hot, while at the same time you're telling yourself you have horrible taste and sending yourself to horny jail. I doubt I'd ever read this series again, but it's an OK 3 stars. I at least prefer it over some other shit I've read.
Just when you think the series you're reading can't possibly get any hotter, any sexier, any more dangerous, or any more suspenseful than the previous installment in this Roxy Sloane series you're reading, it does, and it does so in spades in Flawless, Book 5. This 5-star read picks up right where the last one left off, and if you think, for a single moment, that you know what's going to happen in this installment, think again.
If you've been waiting with bated breath after the cliffhanger ending in Flawless Book 4, thinking that after seeing what Nero threw to the dirty floor in front of Lily, all would be well, get ready--because you're going to be in for quite the roller-coaster ride of emotion, drama and angst in this novel, and I really wish I could tell you more than that, but to do so would ruin this suspenseful novel for you, and I cannot in good conscience do that. What I will tell you is that this installment also ends in a cliffhanger ending and it's a doozy!
One additional note--this is not a series that you can read out of order, nor can you read each installment as a standalone, but if you're looking for a read that will grab you by the heart and throat and not let go, this is that read, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
Unfortunately this was worse than book 1. Lily was so infuriating half the time. She’s just so wishy washy with Nero, and he’s right, she’s had her foot half way out the door this whole time. She needs to make up her fucking mind and stick to it.
Once again the miscommunication trope was annoying as fuck. Maybe y’all should have an actual conversation instead of fucking every time you’re in the same room. And of course the plot was so predictable. The author should of spent more time developing an interesting plot instead of putting in multiple repetitive sex scenes. Honestly at this point I don’t believe they love or care for each other, they just have insane sexual chemistry. But a marriage based on sex won’t work in the long run and so it doesn’t make me feel invested in them.
So I started this one immediately after the first, and I was a little disappointed that it was shorter than the last book, but that's fine. However, i will say that this book was so-so. I enjoyed the fact that they finally talked to each other at least a little bit and cleared the air on some of the issues they were dealing with. They started to seem like they were moving forward, and I was truly enjoying it. I could see Lily and Nero finally being happy and in love and in the future, having a family, especially with seeing how Nero has been trying to take the family business legit instead of having to be shady all the time. And then Lily fucks it up. again. I knew immediately after they made up and she confirmed the appointment with the lawyer was going to bite them in the ass. It was basically another "oh I'm running away because I need to look out for myself blah blah blah even though I love Nero and we're turning a corner and things are looking good". Like girl, I get that this series isn't exactly greatest, but overall this genre is always a little cringe, but seeing her repeat this trope is HIGHLY annoying. I was expecting it to be a bit more of a big thing when Nero found out, but it wasn't (I'm not complaining about that part though). I will say the cliffhanger of this book is better than the last and I honestly wasn't expecting it. Overall, the book is decent and has good points and low points. I will be continuing on to the next and final book of this trilogy. With that in mind, my key notes for myself going forward are: *Fuck Chase, he's still a bitch *I totally forgot Vance was there, but fuck him too *Fuck Roman because he can't get it out of his head of the old school ways and honestly I hope he dies in the next book. * In book three are we going to learn that Lily is pregnant, and that will be a big issue in the book in Nero needing to keep her safe from whatever shit show is about to go down for the millionth time?

First of all: I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for this review.
Now that we got that out of the way... Step aside, Lily. I think I wanna make babies with Nero Barreti. Moody. Bitchy. Angry. I only go for that shit in books, man. Plus, per my review in Ruthless Heart, he's got that curly hair. (side note: Henry Cavill. I mean, am I thirsty? Yes, bish. As parched as the Sahara.)
As for what the actual book is about: Carrying on with the mob stuff from book one, Nero is trying to go legit, maybe there's a mole, ok, yes, there's definitely a mole but who is it? There is angst. Of course there is. Do I love him? Does he love me? Do I love her? I can't love her, she burned me before. So on and so forth. And then the sex. Lots of sex. Do real people have this much sex? And there is definitely a cliffhanger. So prepare yourself. Although, since it's a trilogy, shouldn't you be prepared for that?
So, I'm ready and waiting for the 3rd and final installment so I can see WHAT THE HELL HAPPENS!
I was pulled right into this story. This is a 3 part story so be prepared to get all 3 parts. The story has laughs, suspense, secrets, naughty fun, and heartbreak.
This is the start of Lily and Nero’s story. They were in love until she was forced to leave him. When he finds her he takes her and holds her prisoner. But at what cost to them both? She is worried about her family but does he care? Can they figure out what is happening before even more people get involved? After all another wants her and is willing to stop at nothing to have her.
This is more of Lily and Nero’s story. This story starts where the last one left us. More suspense and more heat. But in the heart of it another beautiful story that has you wanting more. The more Roxy gives you the more you need. Plenty of suspense and passion throughout the story to keep you turning the pages. Can’t wait for the next part of this story. This story leaves you on a cliff hanger but that is expected and should have you all ready or the next part hoping to get more of your questions answered.
I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this 3 part series.
"Our marriage is a lie. But our passion is all too real."
This book was sizzling! After the slow burn of the first book, this second book delivered. Nero certainly has a talent for dirty talking, and Lily always gives as good as she gets.
No doubt, those scenes were my most favorite to read because I found them entertaining and I was blushing the whole time. The amount of smut scenes in this book made up for the slow burn of the first book, so I'm not even that mad when either of the mcs do something that gives me anxiety.
After a string of betrayals, lies, and malice, Lily and Nero finally got somewhere when it comes to their relationship. It was not perfect - they were still wary of each other and were still trying to build up the trust that has been broken between the two of them, but they've begun to communicate and show their true feelings.
The writing was good, in first person dual POVs, and with proper pacing. I found myself unable to tear from one page to another, just because each scene mold perfectly with the next.
The revelation near the end tore my heart to shreds, and the cliffhanger had it leaping to my throat, holding my breath and praying what has been written and implied was not as it should be. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see in the third and final book, now, won't I?
Roxy Sloane is back with the next book in her Ruthless Trilogy (Flawless series) and my heart. They are back! Lily and Nero are back on my kindle again, burning the pages. I'm loving these two and everything they've given and y'all, just when you think you know.. think again.
Picking up where Ruthless Heart left us and what a doozy that was, Ruthless Games thrusts us back into Lily and Nero’s world and y'all, what a book.. what a romance.. what a world to be in. These two captivated me from the start in book one and haven't let go for a second since. I don't want to spoil any of their moments (a must read y'all!) but you definitely need to start at the beginning to understand it all.
I cannot wait for the final book in this series.. trilogy to see where Roxy lands our couple, Nero and Lily and how everything plays out in their world.
I can't recommend Roxy enough of you are looking a steamy, suspenseful, thrilling, all in your feels romance.
Oh my.... This story is so good, every twist and turns it gets more and more exciting to be reading. Couldn't put this book down it was that good. The author has out done herself again. Nero is stuck and in love with Lily, finally after everything that they have been through together. Nero finally realized that Lily still loves him after all this time. He even gives him a alibi saying he was with her the whole time during a Federal bust. Business was interrupted because of a rat or a mole in Nero organization. Will they Ever find out who is the mole. Lily finally tells Nero she's in love with him and has been since she was 16! Nero is trying to get rid of the life he has from the family business and go illegally as the buildings get built that he had planned. At the end there is a cliff hanger and I am going to spoil this book for anyone. Just enjoy it. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. Exciting story with lots of drama, sex and long-term relationships. ENJOY
This is the second book in this series by this author. This is the continued story of Lily and Nero, these two will definitely set your kindle on fire with their chemistry. This story picks up straight after Ruthless heart. This story will grab a hold of you from the very first page till the very last page. I just couldn’t put this book down till I finished it and was left wanting and needing more. This story is very steamy, suspenseful and thrilling but also has a lovely romantic element to it too. I can't wait to read the next book in this incredible series.
I was given a advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review
The story continues. As Nero and Lily get closer, there are forces pulling them apart. They both doubt the sincerity of the other, but their chemistry is still so strong. Nero continues trying to protect Lily, and she tries her best to prove she doesn't need it.
I'm so in love with this couple. Both influenced by their family obligations, some of which they didn't have much choice. Somehow, they're back in each other's lives trying to fight the sins of their fathers while trying to forge ahead with their lives together--or apart. This is such a well-written story, and I'm invested in all the characters. There's a cliffhanger in this one, but hopefully the wait for book #3 isn't too far away.
This is the fifth book in the Flawless series, but the second of Nero and Lily’s story. There are some mentions from the previous books in this series, but you won't be lost on anything if you didn't read them. I recommend you read the three books prior in this series.
This book was a super fast read. As we get close to the middle/ end there’s so much drama happening I could hardly put it down. Disappointed with how short it was but a great filler book to keep the reader interested in the story with great spiciness thrown into it!
Nero and Lily are so toxic for each other and I can’t get enough 😅😂 He’s just dominating enough and she’s just strong enough where its not disturbing when they’re together, sometimes character development can be lacking and its just irksome when characters are together, but thats not the case. They’re also finally coming around to trusting each other.
Well, they were until Chase dropped that bomb on them. Right now my two biggest suspects are Chase and Vance. They’re shady af.
Can’t wait to read the last book, starting it immediately!
Ok this one was better than the first. A lot better? Mmm no, but better nonetheless. Can we just bring to light the fact that everything Nero says to Lily is cheesy/cringe? He literally calls her wetness sweet sugar…multiple times. I did become invested once they finally got on the same page. I knew that thing with the divorce lawyer was going to come back and bite her. I wish that we had more page time with Lily’s new friends. And I hope that Fiona knows that Lily didn’t know Nero was going to do what he did to them. I really thought the mole was Chase. I thought that brief third act conflict was stupid. Even if she didn’t know her mom was dead, she must have known that if they did catch any of her family they were going to kill them. Plus, it was 8 years ago. That ending did get me, obviously he has to be alive bc there’s a whole other book.
I was hoping this would redeem book one or be better but, neither of those things happened. Once again another run through an editor would've helped tremendously. Also the getting along, one of them is keeping a secret or has an ulterior motive, the other finds out at an inopportune time, they fight, the other angrily clears up the miscommunication, Nero goes from hate to passion in an instant, they have "intense amazing earth shattering" sex, cycle is really over done. Especially when it happens MULTIPLE times.per.book. It's not fun and kitschy after the first 3 times. There were a couple of times I was surprised by a "twist" in this book but considering I correctly guessed the big problem, it's not a huge thing. I don't know if I'll finish the trilogy.
First off Lily is so wishy washy with her feelings. You’re either in it or you’re not. The whole ordeal with meeting with the divorce lawyer is messed up, I don’t know why she felt the need to do that. Then she goes on to say she loves the man, then she doesn’t, then she does. And Nero need more of a backbone, his men gives him no respect. I don’t know how many times he keeps saying he’ll protect Lily and then she ends up being hurt. This whole storyline is BLAH and I really need closure on their feelings so off to read the final book.
•Forced marriage •Childhood lover to enemies to lovers •Family rivals •Burn the world for her •”Mine” possessive •”My wife” •”Good girl” •Finger licking good •Forced proximity •Love hate
This book will captivate you from the very beginning. I have a love / hate relationship with these books. I can’t put them down because I get hooked from the very beginning and keep saying one more chapter then I’ll put it down. Before I knew it, the book was finished and then I’m annoyed I finished already and have to wait for more to see what happens. This series was great from the beginning and I just know the author will finish with a bang. Cannot wait for the conclusion to this series. This author is amazing and you will want to get your hands on every single series she has written. Trust me!!
Another cliffhanger?!?! Seriously?! Marked up from a 2.5
I loved the stronger mafia plot line that was brought in this book (as this is what I asked for in my last review)… however there is not a single ounce of character development in this book which really bugs me as there are plenty of opportunities for it 😤. Honestly Nero we get it, you want to go legit and get Lily pregnant, and Lily just shut up for a hot minute.
Very predictable mafia plot line of one person going off the rails, making me desire for a different ending- because this one was painfully obvious to read. Smutty scenes do not make up for it this time sadly 😥
I’ll say it again. JUST 🤬ING TALK TO EACH OTHER. Why can we not just lay everything out on the table? And they really haven’t told each other “I love you” yet??? If everything isn’t wrapped up in a cute little bow after book 3, I’m throwing a tantrum. Our FMC is so freaking annoying. JUST MAKE A DECISION AND STICK TO IT. I hate wafflers.
Also, is anybody actually surprised that the mole is Vance??? The man shows up out of the blue, claiming to have been sent by Rowan, but we don’t want to check in with Rowan??? No credentials or proof required??? COOL just checking. Good to know that criminal enterprises don’t vet people.

OMG, this book was even better then the last. The tension between them is insufferable at first but their strong connection and unbreakable love prevail. Against all odds, these two have a love so true it’s beyond rare. And they are unbelievably hot together! They’ll have you melting where you sit…. It is sooo good. But when a secret is unveiled, it could all come crashing down. Be warned that the end is left on a nail biting cliffhanger and it’s not from the revealed secret. You’ll have to read the final book to find out…. I know I can’t wait!
Holy shiiiit here we go. The mafia game is ramping up and so is the love between Lily and Nero. Will they? Won’t they? An on going theme for Lily is wanting to save herself and her brother but then wanting to be selfish by being happy with Nero. Nero, god love him, self sabotages at every turn. He wants to please his father and his legacy but wants to build a different legacy for his family. He married Lily to save her from his father but now wants to keep her for himself. The books ends on a cliff hanger and we can only hope that Nero and Lily make it.
This is a fast moving, intense second installment which has new twists, much hotness and seesawing emotions between Lily and Nico. Things start as they mean to go on, straight from the events of the last book. And my, the pace does not let up. We see Lily making some tentative steps towards building a future, but it is hard to imagine things settling down any time soon as new threats emerge and their lives are constantly upended. It looks as if Nico's ambitions are going to take a hell of a lot to fulfill! And, again, we are left with one heck of a cliffhanger!! Fantastic! 💖💖💖💖
Waste of my damn time. Lily , babe you are disloyal meeting the feds and a divorce lawyer, and second .. get a grip. They’re entire relationship is sexual, I don’t understand how he’s trying to change his business when no matter what , the feds and the entire world knows about the investigation. Isn’t it pointless to do anything legit when the case has been being built against you. They can’t communicate, they lie to eachother, it’s pointless . The fact that this is a trilogy … BFFR
I'm so engrossed in this story, it's not even funny. That ending had me hooked! Not every book can make the whole world melt away, ya know? But this one sunk its claws into me! Its not just the smut or spice either. The emotion just oozes off the pages
There are some instances where it could have been proofread a little better. Missed words or the wrong word used, etc. Minor things. I didn't take off any stars for it. Just noting it for anyone who gets super bothered about that sort of thing
Here we have the continuation of Nero and Lily's story and it was just as explosive as the first. The pull between them is undeniable as much as they try to fight and question it. As always with this author, the book was extremely well written and the character development and storyline is incredibly well thought out and executed. This book also ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to find out how the series ends!
I struggled with how many stars to give this one, I honestly did. I changed its star rating 3 times. Typical Mafia boss in love with girl from her past-- with that being said-- couldn't put it down.
I found the twists predictable (which isn't a deal breaker for me), and I really had good "Good Girls" vibes especially from Nero.
It's worth a read if you like a good Mafia romance but not something i think you should be rushing to the store to buy (if that makes sense?)

Ugh I need to stop being convinced to try books based on a reel with one good quote. The first one was ok but this one was worse. So much repetition. “I can’t ever love a man like him”, “no I’ve made up my mind, I am choosing Nero”, “how could he do that, I need to run”, “Nero is my best option”… on and on and on. The story has me interested enough I want to see how it ends, so I’ll probably read the last one, but I’m guessing I won’t much enjoy it.
