This book gives so many helpful tips for teaching in low-income schools and has been immensely helpful in my field placement. I would highly recommend for any newer teacher candidates or longtime teachers because the book itself is very approachable and holds lots of valuable information!

Book is required for masters degree class at the high school level - I agree with some of his points, I just felt as an English major who had studied a lot of this already it was repeat material and didn't provide as much substantial new information

Great book about how to work with kids in hard circumstances and how our expectations for them mean so much! A little repetitive but overall great message
