Loved this storyline. Getting sucked into a painting to a horrific time in history and not knowing where you are or what happened, this was a page turner and I could not put it down. It does end with more to come but the whole story just keeps you riveted. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. You cannot say to much without giving away the plot but I can say you will not be disappointed if you get this book.

Beatrice is repairing a painting, she finds a hidden image within the painting, and unbeknownst to her, she triggers a curse. She is transported to the past and that’s just the beginning of her troubles. She is accused of a crime she didn’t commit. The only person that is willing to believe her story and help her, has his own dark agenda. A fascinating time travel story, characters and an appealing plot.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this time travel romance story, but I absolutely loved it! There was the sci-fi time travel, paranormal romance, and intrigue! There were so many plot twists that I was constantly guessing who was on Beatrice's side and who was not! I can’t wait to read what will happen next for Beatrice and Nicholas.

I loved this fascinating, multifaceted story. It had me laughing out loud at times, sighing to the delicious intimate scene and biting my knuckles through suspense and (at times very explicit) violence, torture and death. I was alternately rooting for and getting exasperated by the plucky heroine who just can't stay put, but somehow manages to survive all the hairy situations she finds herself in, thwarting the villain time and again. Add to that a sensuous lover, magic and time travel and you have a very engaging book. Can't wait for the sequel!.

This was my first read by Alyssa Drake or Rebecca Hamilton, but it won't be my last!

I read the blurb several days before I started the book but had forgotten it. When I started reading I didn't know what to expect. After finishing the book, I had to go back and read the first few chapters again.

We're introduced to Beatrice, whose job is restoring paintings. A new customer (Edmund) comes in late in the day with an emergency job. He & Beatrice are attracted to each other, and he makes some mysterious comments to her which she doesn't seem to notice. They enjoy dinner together but don't expect anything to come of it because he's leaving town the next morning. I have a feeling this may be significant further into the series.

During her work on the painting Beatrice is transported back in time and meets Nicholas. The chemistry between them is undeniable and they put very little effort into fighting it.

The townspeople are on a mission to execute anyone "guilty" of witchcraft. The most adamant & persistent persecutor is Mr Peyton who seems to have a personal vendetta against Nicholas and his family. When a neighbor is murdered Peyton is more determined than ever to find evidence against Nicholas. Of course, Beatrice is smack in the middle of this, which puts her in danger from the villain, whoever he may be.

There are some elements present that aren't run-of-the-mill compared to other books I've read, such as hiding from the townspeople by being turned into a tree. I love the authors' creativity!

For those concerned about the explicitness of the book - there's no filthy language, only a few mild swear words. There are explicit sex scenes, but IMO not so graphic as to be classified erotica/smut.

If you are easily disturbed by darker elements, consider this your warning. There are a few scenes containing possible triggers, such as torture, attempted rape, mention of rape. I'm not easily disturbed but my emotions do run high and at one time I found myself crying for several minutes.

I enjoyed the book so much that I stayed awake until almost daylight reading it. I had only planned to read for a while before going to sleep but at the end of each chapter I found myself not ready to put it down. The book doesn't end on a dramatic cliffhanger, but the story definitely isn't finished.

I will definitely read the rest of the series as it comes out!.

I haven’t read a lot of historical stories, for a few reasons, but every now and again one catches my eye, like this one did. It does get very dark at times, and if you are sensitive to torture, you might want to skim over anything that could upset you. I read quite a lot of dark stories, so I was fine, but I always try to warn readers if there’s anything I think someone might need to be prepared for.

The story is interesting, well written, funny and sad, and I will be looking out for the next one.

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Even though the book is portrayed as a paranormal romance, the two main characters are fiery and passionate with each other. There is also a graphical and most disturbing side to it.

We start off with Beatrice, she works in a firm that restores paintings. One evening she is tasked to do an emergency painting reparation for Mr. Langley. While repairing, she gets sucked into the painting. Beatrice finds herself in another timeline and to her biggest shock, she finds the person who said died in 1604 next to her.

From the time she meets Mr. Peyton, a chilling cat and mouse game is unfolding. He is bent on getting Nicholas burned at the stake for witchcraft and everyone who is aiding and abetting him. But what is Mr. Peyton hiding?

The story has a romantic side to it when Beatrice gets swept off her feet by Nicholas. But it changes to the horrors of what torture awaits when accused of witchcraft. And the notion of how easy it is to manipulate people's minds into carrying out vile acts because they fear the unknown.

I am not a romantic person, as those romantic chapters were a bit boresome to me. The only reason I picked up this book is because of witchcraft and time travel. Nonetheless, the story was fluent and captivating enough to read to the end with some unexpected plot twists. I must say that some chapters made me quite sick and difficult to stomach. As I said some were quite violent and rather graphical.

Timeless Magic was a really enjoyable tale, taking a modern woman and depositing her back into a time when anything different about a person could be interpreted as evidence of witchcraft - especially by the overly religious, righteous or those with hidden agendas. While Beatrice is initially unsure about Nicholas, she soon realises that he is someone she could love - if only threats to both their lives can be overcome.

The story increasingly reveals the complexity of all the characters and how they are bound together. Don't expect an HEA in this book though, as it ends with a cliffhanger and the promise of a second book in the series not too far away. But just remember, to never have been seduced is a terrible thing!.

This story blends different genres and it does it extremely well. It’s romance, scifi, a bit of action and adventure. A shy art restorer sent back in time falls in love with a wizard and is put in danger as any unusual behavior can get you burnt at the stake by the zealots of the time. Beatrice has a lot more courage than I expected as she survives both the shock of time travel and the persecution of a truly odious man. Nicholas is dashing, enigmatic and a dashing hero for our heroine. Take the trigger warnings seriously. Be prepared for a bit of a cliffhanger but also a happily for now ending. Good read definitely recommend!.

WOW! This is some story! You will find, time travel, witchcraft, torture and deceit….as well as loyalty, love and sacrifice. This book eases you into the story and then takes off running…..literally. It is full of unexpected twists, horrific descriptions and characters that range from heartwarming to stomach turning. Every moment of joy is a temporary respite from the underlying terror permeating this tale. My heart was pumping, my stomach was in knots and I held my breath…..but one thing I did not, could not do, was put it down.

Timeless Magic is a well written time travel romance with some interesting twists and turns. While restoring an old painting Beatrice gets pulled into a time when being accused of witchcraft wasn't a good thing. I loved the suspenseful storyline, the well developed characters, and the time travel aspect of this book. Timeless Magic is an engaging read of mystery, time travel, secrets and suspense.
With a little romance and some surprising twists, the story of Conservator Beatrice and the adventure she is thrust into is an evenly paced narrative though the writing at times left me having to re-read passages as it felt a little disjointed and unclear.
Overall, a good story emerged that should please Paranormal Romance lovers.

She is transported back in time, when it's dangerous to be accused of being a witch. Can she keep herself from those who would accuse her of it? I enjoyed this drama filled timetravel romance, but expect a bit of darkness due to the time this is set in for it's the time of the witch hunts and burning at the stake (and not all the people are nice). That being said it still is a fairly page turning kind of story, and I really enjoyed Beatrice and Nicholas' characters and story.
