I mean after that cliffhanger from Boardwalk Kings, we are ready to see how Ava takes these guys down a notch or two? The only thing is there is the love/hate thing going between her and Dante and now she needs to put space between her and Nico, Ava learns so much more about the twins and about their family. She also starts to learn so much more about herself along the way. This girl is no longer sheltered, and she is pushed to extremes and shown the strength that she contains inside. Nothing is easy as she struggles to realize just how deep her dad is and in turn has brought her down as well. His mistakes are going to cost her and she knows it, her hope is that the Boardwalk Kings will honor their agreement to keep her safe. The problem is, that is never as easy as it seems. Tension is high and we get one of the biggest cliffhangers and I am more than ready for the last book to Reign!
I love that we get to see so much of Ava. She may have been sheltered all her life, but the guys are all pushing her so that she can see that she really has what it takes to be the Queen. Dante is the same arrogant guy, but we find out more to his backstory and how he helped raise his twin brothers. Nico may be a little brown noser, but he is the softest and easiest to love. Angelo may be a little crazy, but he has a love to push the envelope and we see that a lot in this book. And our sweet Stefan. He is starting to show that he may be sweet but there is a lot of spice in there as well.
This one picks up right where you leave off in Boardwalk Kings! I wasn't expecting the cliffhanger to die down a little-but I guess that what leads you right into the next book. Ava is a bit brattier in this one, but overall enjoyed it. There was a bit less focus on the work aspect which kind of took the fun away though.
Writing style of Jillian Frost is pretty spot on. Mafia princes in Atlanta City, money laundering guy steals from mob, throws daughter under the bus. Mafia makes daughter work for them. Some hot scenes, alone and with twins, lots of pounding. Secret ending revealed with FMC, which she’s left in the dark as the book ends.

The dinner starts with her having a panic attack because she thinks they are going to kill her and her father. Well after causing a scene she realizes the dinner is actually to announce one of her men getting engaged to the rival mobs daughter as an alliance. Ava is crushed and has another reaction which draws attention and not the good kind. Nicos new fiancé refuses to share and says if he isn’t faithful she would call the marriage off. He plays along for awhile to appease his father. Well they find out a lot in this book. They find out that their fathers advisor had been making bad calls on his behalf because their father is starting to lose his memory. Their father right hand man starts to take advantage of it. Anyways she of course gets all the men of board with her and they all starts to care about her. But not before they make her dig her own grave and make her think they are killing her. She confesses to everything but also tells them that she got all the money back by investing it and she added 2 million to it. They forgive her and then realize she is on their side. They also find out during this book that her father isn’t actually her father but the rival mob that they have been trying to attach themselves with against their better judgement. (The bad decisions the right hand man has been taking)
This rival mob family is the suspected murderers of their mother. So their family would never join forces with them.
Anyways during this book Ava is attacked by the rival mob family because they know she is important and her father also owes them money that she has to pay for. But you also learn that she is related to them because her father isn’t her father. So they set up a meeting to discuss how she is their family and they can marry into each other that way instead of Nico with the ugly daughter. During the meeting though they get ambushed and shot up. The father dies in front of them and the three sons are hurt bad. Nico is with Ava back home so when the right hand man comes home claiming everyone is hurt or either dead he doesn’t know what to believe so he states he isn’t doing anything till he sees them. Before the sons pass out in the meeting though after the attack they realize that Paulie the right hand man betrayed them and is on rivals side. Nico is worried that no one will follow him now though during the retaliation because he a bastard son of his father.

I was hovering between a 3 and 4 star rating on this book! I feel like there were some pacing issues in terms of the plot.
I find it very hard to just accept people changing their mind / feelings towards between without the author giving me at least ENOUGH context / visual proof as to why it would make sense - for me to believe them.
Of course in a situation like this regarding believing peoples loyalties / trusting people / falling for people I understand why the author is moving things the way she is because (from my POV at least) she is thinking about the big picture. However sometimes I find it a little hard to root for people, root for friendships, root for relationships if things aren't clearly documented.
An example of this WORKING here would be a gift (I won't spoil) for Ava's birthday. It made me stop and think 'okay wait - I know that I don't think this person is even capable of being in love but maybe they are?'.
The plot twist for what they found in the safe I didn't actually see coming which is honestly something I rarely say with books so although it was another cliche trope / moment in this genre I actually didn't have it on my bingo card. I also feel like wether the author meant it at all or not I was actually thrown off by the whole 'god father / take care of her' moment.
ANYWAY.
ALSO Holy cliff hanger. I mean I know we all saw the BETRAYAL happening because even the characters suspected it - but how and WHAT happened did have me a little ready to throw hands.
I'm honestly finishing this book sad that there is only one more - I'm not ready for this to end when I feel like their story is only just about to begin.
OH AND JUST BECAUSE I ranked the brothers after book one :
1. Dante (come on, unless you are new here - you know how I feel about a broken man) 2. Stefan (him stepping up for her when Nico was being Nico won me over) 3. Angelo / Nico (I feel like we get to see the least of Angelo and - Nico is still in my bad books)
I enjoyed the first series about Devil’s Creek.. The characters were memorable and the woman was admirable. There was a bit more sex than necessary… This series suffers from a weak female character. The woman allows the 4 brothers to abuse her. After building it that she had little to no sexual experiences, the immediate jump into doing wild things with 3 of the 4 brothers was bothersome. The cruelty of the eldest bothered me, especially with her exhibiting weakness by chasing after him so much even after calling her a whore.
The grave scene had me sobbing….but I was glad that she kept pushing Nico away after learning that he was engaged but screwed her after knowing about the engagement and not telling her. I was proud of her that she pushed Nico away and held to her principal. After Nico talked to his mom and he realized he could get married and still have her on the side because his mother accepted it…She would not and this showed that she still had some morals and lines she wouldn’t cross. But when she caved after Dante made her dig her own grave and the 3 brothers did nothing to help or explain, I had hoped she would pull back. Instead, she accepted Nico again, caving on the one principal she established. I hope your last book has her developing strength and character…I wish she would run after the grave scene. But it appears that she is allowing the men to degrade her.
Your female characters in other series, exhibited strength and moral judgement. But this series has a disappointing female lead character.
Book 2 was okay. There’s not much plot development in this series, and it’s mainly Ava getting railed by the brothers. Lots of steam, little plot. I’m not sure that I like Ava. She’s a doormat, clingy, needy, and desperate. She has no backbone and caters to whatever the brothers say.
This series could also use a proofreader, particularly for the punctuation. The quotation marks are a bit all over the place. There are missing quotation marks, as well as accidental quotation marks inserted into action or internal dialogue. There are some comma issues as well. Stuff like that, but not too off putting. It doesn’t need an editor per se, but it would definitely benefit from a proofreader catching those mistakes.
Overall, this series is so-so for me. I will probably read book 3, but only so I can mark this series as ‘done’ and move on.
This series had me in a chokehold if I'm being honest. Although I loved the book- Ava, the men, and the plot. I have to say the way they talked about other girls and women was quite displeasing. I know people talk like that, but it was honestly repulsing.
Besides that, it was amazing.
I have to say my favorite out of the men has got to be Nico and Dante. You can't help but fall for all but for me these two have me. Now don't get me wrong, the twins were hot too. I loved reading about them and all the scenes with the boys, but i have a soft spot for Nico and Dante. The scenes with each of the men had me sneaking at future pages. Along with the enticing plot, I was addicted. I also enjoyed reading how much Ava pushed Dante's buttons, the grumpy and sunshine. (Although he can be a prude). These boys were falling for Ava before they knew they were screwed.
Anyway, I liked the book. This is a really good series.
The conflict involves Salvatore Luciano and his sons Dante, Nico, Stefan, and Angelo, who are at odds with the Vitale family. To unite their reign in Atlantic City, a marriage was arranged between the two families. Meanwhile, Ava Vianello's father, Giancarlo, has embezzled from the Lucianos to offset his debts to the Vitales. A web of lies, secrets, and impending betrayal has been discovered. It's wise to keep an eye on those closest to you. The question remains: is Paulie acting of his own accord, or is he an unwitting pawn? Concerns arise about Salvatore's health—could it be dementia causing his memory lapses, and what implications will this have for the family's power structure? Can't wait for the final book in this series the Boardwalk Mafia.
They protected Ava… they slowly broke her resolve… the lead Salavatore suffered from old age.. maybe dementia.. Dante was the most hesitate of Ava but that changed quickly.. Nico is obsessed, passive, determine to have Ava anyway he can have her… even if he is marry a woman he doesn’t want.. Angelo is crazy I love with Ava.. Stefan is indeed devoted to being with Ava.. Ava became their Queen over night.. Four ruthless Kings..
This book was the sequel to Boardwalk Kings, and further developed the story and dynamic between Ava, the FMC and the Luciano brothers. The books seamlessly go from one to another and I’d highly advise buying the whole set at once, as they are quick reads and end on cliffhangers, IMO. I have really enjoyed this series so far and can’t wait to finish the final book!
Spice: 2.5/5- lots of good s*x scenes but nothing too kinky IMO.
Jesus Christ! This book made my eye sting with the spice- on another level spice may I add! Absolutely loved all the books in the series would defo tell anyone to read them if they’re into dark romance with a hella lot of 🌶️ 🥵 “I don’t watch porn, I read it” this quote is very fitting for this book!!!! I need my own real life boardwalk kings 😂😂😂 well only 1 of them I couldn’t handle the disfunctional relationship they all have!
If I remember from the Cruel Prince series the ending had already happened. So I'm this series ends good but its different reading it through with then going through it
Omg, this was brilliant. Straight into the story from Boardwalk Kings. The relationships between Eva and the Luciano brothers develop even further, especially with Dante. The spice is off the scale, for Ava learning to give a lap dance, to a broken bed!!!!! There are more secrets that come to light and the cliffhanger at the end?!?!?!?
2.5 After the cliffhanger of the first book, I simply had to read the second book asap. Ava grows a lot in this book, and I always like to see a character growth. Ava is pushed to extremes, she learns more about herself, she’s no longer sheltered.
As always, there are tons of red flags. There’s not much plot development. I decided not to read further books in the series.
Sis literally dug her own grave and was almost killed and it's glossed over I- I loved Dante in this book and how we learn more about him and get to see more of him. I have the second book bought already and I am PRAYING for a happy ending, Jillian Frost I need all those boys alive and well by the end.

Two feuding mafia families are set to unite as violence, embezzlement, conflicts and emotions are ready to boil over in this action-packed, suspenseful dark romance. Ava and her lovers share passion and many secrets. It's a quick, intense read, only 188 pages and costs $5.
I’m devouring this Boardwalk Mafia series, the twists and turns keep me in the edge of my seat and glued to every word. The spice, the feuds, the loyalty, the brothers & Ava. All the chemistry is off the charts. Cliff hanger has got me intrigued to devour book 3! Absolutely brilliant!
There really is such a thing as too much spice. When it feels like it’s 5 sex scenes per chapter, it’s too much. But I really have been enjoying the story that is happening outside of that. I’ve always been a sucker for a good mafia book. If the spice was more tame this would probably be a favorite.
the FMC borderline insufferable. VALEDICTORIAN MY ASS. She’s as dumb as a pile of bricks. I swear she let those dudes WALK ALL OVER HER. They treat her like shit and she’s still like ‘Dante please kiss me’ ‘Dante this..’ ‘Dante that…’- LIKE SHUT THE FUCK UP.
This is book two in the Boardwalk Mafia series and will definitely leave you hanging at the end!!! But don't book three, Boardwalk Reign is ready to read and I'm dying to know what happens next between Ava and the Luciano brothers!!
New Jersey NEVER looked so good! Damn…Those brothers are absolutely delicious!! Cannot wait for Book Three! Paulie is about to get his ass handed to him (as well as Johnny Z and the Vitali’s).
Boardwalk Queen is hot as heck. I love the Luciano brothers and their need to constantly BE with Ava, if you know what I mean. It is so spicy here, there's a mafia plot at play, but here for the spice.
The way that Ava is pushed for greatness by Nico, Stefan, Angel and Dante is *chefs kiss*. She pushes the envelope and steps out of her sheltered life while still remaining true to herself. The twists and turns the MMCs and FMC are dealt continue to draw you in. Another heart stopping cliff hanger has you running to book three.
Book 2 of the trilogy really brought the relationships between the characters into the light, along with some of the plot twists. More spice in book 2 than in book 1.
I'm curious where book 3 will lead and can't wait to get to the HEA.
