Groups Welcome is the sixth book of the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast paranormal cozy mystery series. This seven-book series is about hope, determination, and friendship… and solving murders with the help of ghosts in a small town in North Georgia.
Beth Dolgner writes paranormal fiction and non-fiction. Her interest in things that go bump in the night really took off on a trip to Savannah, Georgia, so it's fitting that the Betty Boo, Ghost Hunter Series of paranormal romance novels takes place in that spooky city. Beth's young adult novels, the steampunk Manifest and the urban fantasy A Talent for Death, also have paranormal elements. Her non-fiction work includes Georgia Spirits and Specters and Everyday Voodoo.
Since Georgia is obviously on her mind, you might think Beth lives there. Well, she did, but these days she and her husband live in Berlin, Germany, with their three cats. Beth misses those mild Georgia winters and proper iced tea, but there's no reason her characters can't enjoy those things.
Beth also enjoys giving presentations on Victorian death and mourning traditions as well as Victorian Spiritualism. She has been a volunteer at an historic cemetery, a ghost tour guide and a paranormal investigator. Right now she's chronicling the best spooky spots around Europe.
This series honestly has me in a chokehold! 4.5 Stars!
What I loved about this book in particular;
• New super naturals introduced / the world is growing larger. In this case, witches. I just love me some witches! • All of our fav secondary characters are back. I always love seeing Reid… • I also found Detective Danny’s interactions with Trevor’s hilarious • I also love how Emily’s psychic abilities are growing and she’s getting more confident in using it to help solve the mysteries and murders. • Finally, that ending though… it had me shook (I don’t wanna spoil it, but…) I can’t wait for it to be explored in the next book. & of course, I also want to know more about what happens to Scott in the next book.
As always, I loved the writing and pacing of the book. Overall, was such a good read!
I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Patricia Shade as per usual for the books in this series, and she did a great job as per usual.
I loved this book. This time the author as taken it up another level, in not only the mystery but also in Scott's story with the introduction of witches. The main story gets solved but the long running story, of what happened to Emily's husband Scott, continues throughout the series and is building up to a conclusion, I hope this doesn't mean the end of the series! So from that point of view I would recommend starting at the start of the series and enjoying them as Scott's (and Emily's) story unfolds, you won't be disappointed, I personally have given each book a five star review. The introduction of witches was a nice twist but I still love the house ghosts the best and the help they lend Emily. Emily herself is a great main character, just as much as her group of friends are likeable. The mystery was good and it kept me guessing, as to who the murderer was and what was going to happen. I hope I don't have long to wait to find out what happens next. Emily is getting ready to welcome a new group of Guests to Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast but not even she can prepare for what is in store. The coven of witches bring surprise after surprise as they perform there rituals and ceremonies but the biggest one is the death of the coven leader. Her fellow witches are the only suspects and must not leave Eternal Rest, leaving Emily and her ghosts living with a killer. With the barrier protecting the town growing weaker and the ghost of her dead husband still trapped Emily hopes that with the witches present she will be able to help him, as long as they don't kill each other first. Dark magic symbols and a missing book are the clues that Emily and her friends have to work with. Can they find the killer? I liked the narrator. She is pleasant to listen to and casts her own spell on the listener, so the story just flies bye. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Guests are bringing magic and murder to Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast.
Groups Welcome is Book #6 in the 'Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast' Series.
Emily Buchanan is the owner of the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast, which is haunted! Emily is on the paranormal circuit, her B & B is a haunted destination and she gets reservations from many types, looking for a supernatural experience. She has hosted ghost hunters, people looking to connect with the afterlife, even a few true crime enthusiasts that heard about the murder of Kelly Stern, a current resident ghost. Kelly along with Mrs. Thompson (a former part-time employee) are the current active ghosts at the B & B, along with a few non-active ones.
Emily is also a medium-in-training. She has been communicating with and seeing ghosts, and didn't think much about it. Her husband Scott, was in a tragic car accident over 2 years ago and she always wondered if there was something paranormal about his death. She found out through her friend Reed Marshall, the sexton at the Oak Hill Memorial Garden, as well as the historic Hilltop Cemetery, that Scott was being kept outside Oak Hill by a barrier and being threatened, even weakened by a dark entity.
This weeks' reservation is a coven of witches, which is truly different for Emily! She doesn't exactly believe in witches, and yet here along with the witches is her mother-in-law!
Can Emily get answers about the barrier from the witches? Can they help her get Scott home? Why are so many ghosts coming to Oak Hill? What is the dark entity and what does it want? And when a dead witch turns up; with the witches' emotions flying, how do we know which witch killed the witch?
Read Book #6 Groups Welcome, a part of the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast Series to find out who killed the witch, will the coven survive this tragedy, and can they get Scott through the barrier or will the barrier collapse, and where are all the ghosts going?
A cozy paranormal mystery for 13+, with no racy scenes and no foul language! Looking forward to Book #7!
A coven has booked the rooms at Emily's B&B and she's in for a bit of a surprise when the guests arrive. For one, she might be used to her ghosts and living in a haunted house, but she's not sure if she believes in magic. For another, one of the coven members is someone she knows. So Emily not only has to wrap her head around witches being as real as her ghosts, but that someone she's close to is one.
And OF COURSE, one of the witches ends up deceased. It turns out she's not the most well-liked witch either, so there are plenty of suspects. There are also plenty of reasons why the other witches might have wanted their leader dead.
As Emily hunts down clues, she also has to deal with some upsetting news regarding the barrier surrounding Oak Hill and what it might mean for her attempts to bring her deceased husband's spirit home. Let's just say the lady has a lot on her plate and leave it at that. All in all, GOOD TIMES!
Emily Buchanan has had an eventful year, and all she wants is some rest, but when a coven of witches books a stay at Eternal Bed and Breakfast, she has no idea what is install. For one, she did not expect her mother-in-law to be a witch or another guest to meet an untimely death. While dealing with another murder mystery, Emily must navigate her relationship with the town Sheriff and Trevor. She is in a race against time to help Scott’s spirit cross over the psychic barrier before he becomes trapped by an evil entity. As always, the visit to Eternal Rest is like a coming home of sorts where old friends meet you, and you slip into the adventure as if you belong and are part of the gang. I can never switch off the audible version as I want to know what will happen next. If you do not yet know Emily and her tendency to get into trouble, you are 6 books behind, So start listening or reading this wonderful series.
So this time Emily has a witch's coven that's going to stay at the place in order to strengthen the shield around the town to protect it from evil things outside. The problem for Emily is that the ghost of Scott, her husband, is trapped on the wrong side so she needs the witches to somehow let Scott through the barrier but not letting anything else through and then fixing the barrier.
It's about the most dysfunctional coven you have even read about. The women don't get along with each other, the former leader has been demoted and replaced by someone else but they still think they can get the job done.
Although one of them being murdered doesn't help. The fact that Sage is still feeling exhausted doesn't help matters either.
It's a rather different book in the series as it shows that witches don't necessarily get along automatically and that can turn into violence.
AHHH!!! I was hooked till the very end! I was so happy to be back with my friends and Emily. As always, the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast doesn't disappoint! The suspense and mystery happens very quickly and I couldn't help myself but question everyone's motives. I really liked how this book introduced some new characters and we were able to see some of our very old loveable characters. The coven and Emily and her friends are trying to bring Scott back home, but there are multiple factors that may not allow that. I was at the edge of my seat listening till the very end! The narrator, Patricia Shade does a great job portraying all of the characters and keeping the listener entertained. That ending left me gasping. I'm now anxiously awaiting the next book to see what happens next with the outstanding questions.
Book 6 in this fantastic series. Beth Dogner the author hits the nail on the head The author wrote a very detailed description of the scenes and the characters in the story . The story is face paced with lots of things you don’t expect. The heroine Emily B&B is in for a surprise. Not only that but the barrier is getting weaker that surrounds the village. This story has the regular ghosts nut now it shows witches that show up in the story. As usual like the other books someone dies . The witches show up with a guest that floors Emily. And something is going on with Emily best friend Sage . Oh noo Grab it and see who the surprise guest is. Is it Scott ghost. . I won’t tell grab it and see
Patricia Shade performance was great. She has done this series great. Her voice does all the scenes and tone great
Wow! I am so excited for the next book to come out! My heart literally dropped when I saw I would have to wait for the next instalment to arrive! This novel was heart warming, spooky and mysterious. I never expected the ending of Sage losing her powers! I am so happy for Emily that Scott is back home and I feel a huge sense of relief that I didn’t know I had pent up. I loved learning more about Danny and Clint in this book. Clint’s relationship with Kelly is so cute and is really wholesome. I enjoyed the introduction of Darlene’s character - she is so pure and feels like a reflection of happiness.

I absolutely love this series! I love how the full series heads to one major outcome but still has other plots running through. I absolutely love the narrator on this series, her voice is wonderful to listen to and it makes my brain engage, so I absorb what's going on. The combination of the perfect writer and the perfect narrator makes me return to this series. The characters grow with each book and their relationships take an interesting direction. Groups Welcome finally sees Scott return - sort of and though this has been building up over the six books, it was the jaw dropping ending that made me gasp! I can't wait to listen to book 7 as I need to know what happens next.
Beth Dolgner has written another entertaining paranormal mystery in this fun series. A coven of witches arrive and the Eternal Test B&B bringing with them conflict, secrets and murder. Emily has to deal with this, her efforts to rescue her husband's ghost and an evil entity as well as investigate a murder. Great story, great characters, excellent whodunit and moves the Scott storyline onwards. Patricia Shade gives another accomplished performance. Highly recommended. I received a complimentary copy from the Author and am leaving a honest voluntary review
THE GHOSTS ARE GETTING CLOSER. It's all getting very exciting with the story of Scott, the husbands ghost, getting closer and closer to the barrier surrounding the house and cemetery. Who, why and how is the evil identity attacking this witch family over the generations? What is going to happen to stop it? Emily is such a sweet caring lady and has a guest house comprising of a ghost old lady past employee and a teenage girl witch that chose to stay, together they combine to solve yet another murder on Emilie's property. Clever and entertaining. Recommended listening. Well narrated.
While I've enjoyed and loved the books in this series, so far, book six was the best one yet! It was dynamic. The characters were vibrant and realistically complicated. I hadn't figured out "whodunnit" until it was revealed! (I love that.) And this book's mystery was connected the series overall mystery, so it was super exciting to read. Now, I'm ready for book seven, to meet Scott, and to find out just who Emily will end up with once Scott crosses over. I'm also intrigued by the changes in Sage and how they might be connected to Scott. Lots to look forward to in book seven!
I enjoyed book 6 very much. I think this particular story took a more intense turn than the previous ones, as the time to help Scott's ghost becomes limited. I liked that there were multiple suspects and that each of them had viable reasons for being the culprit. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Patricia Shade's narration was great, and her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
Murders, family, and secrets - just a typical small town weekend
I can't believe this book ended on a cliff hanger but I loved getting time with all of my favorite characters and the latest b&b guests. After this book - I think Reed is the character that I most want to go bowling with. And Cliff didn't have a big role, but he"s definitely turning into a man that Trish can be proud of!
Fantastic continuation of Emily and her friends being centred around another police investigation. We meet Scott's mum in this book and learn more about his story. The friendships this group has are strengthening all the time. I really do enjoy this set of stories. Well written characters in a solid setting and well timed. Well worth it, these books!
I love this series! Every book is better than the last. Emily is an awesome woman who I want to be friends with. I like how all her friends are so different yet all have many things in common. I really liked meeting her mother in law in this book and showing how much they get along.
The storytelling is great, as you read you feel the story come to life around you. Your own imagination puts you in the envious position of being part of the story as an onlooker, one of Eternal Rest's ghosts 😊 watching the events unfold. Can't wait for next installment
This one ends on a cliffhanger. I suggest you go ahead and obtain book 7 because you will want to read it immediately.
I don’t want to say too much because almost everything I could say would be a spoiler. The fear I had of this series getting seriously dark has not happened. But each new plot twist hits you because we become invested in these characters.
I am not sure that groups are really welcome. This Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast Paranormal Cozy Mystery really made me think. The story screeched to a halt leaving things up in the air. Hopefully the next book will answer some questions about what is really going on.
Witches and ghosts in an B&B inn what could go Wrong… well someone is murdered and someone part of the coven is suspected. The inns owner Emily is Scott’s widow and she is able to communicate with her ghosts at her in … but there is a problem Scott’s ghost isn’t able to cross over and Emily.. needs to help. It was a quick read and there are many books in series but I started with this own. I was able to understand this book even though it’s not on book order. Happy 📖 Reading
Such a good book and we Learn more about Scott and this series becomes more paranormal and to learn about his mom. Witches are involved this time around and Sage continues to struggle with the poltergeist or evil demon. The book ends in a good way but u know there is questions and hopefully the next books answers it.
Oh my goodness! This series just keeps getting better. Being an avid reader, I can attest that this author is no less than amazing. I haven't been able to put this down. Thank you
Lots of doubt and suspicion are at Eternal Rest. Emily is hosting a coven of witches not knowing that her ex mother in law is a witch. Their coven leader is murdered. Who would kill Helen and why? Can they get Scott home?
I couldn’t stop reading! I had to know who the killer was. And were they able to help Scott get through the barrier? What about Sage and her extreme exhaustion? What will it do to her abilities? So many questions!! I had to keep reading!
This series has me totally enthralled in its spell. From the storyline to the great cast of characters, it is definitely a great read. I'm sad, though, that book 7 will be the last one. This is one series I wish would never end. There are so many more tales to tell in it.
Eternal Rest B & B is a Victorian House in north Georgia. There are ghosts who come to communicate. There is a lot of drama and people are murdered! But they come back to help solve their murders.
I can’t stop reading them! They are well written, the plots keep you wanting to know what happens next, the characters are likable, no sex, cursing...you have to try them!
Wow, this story is so good! I loved meeting Darlene, Emily's mother in law, who is a witch! Her coven is in town to strength the barrier that protects the town, but they need to get Emily's husband Scott to pass through the barrier first.
