Forensic anthropologist Mary H. Manhein pens her second novel. Maggie Andrepont, New Orleans forensic anthropologist, first appeared in Manhein's Floating Souls, The Canal Murders. Maggie is back again to investigate the case of a murdered "maybe priest" whose body has been discovered among the tombs in one of New Orleans infamous cities of the dead. Maggie's romantic past with the local coroner takes center stage as her future career, and, more urgently, her life, are in peril as someone strives to silence her permanently. Her Great Dane, Brutus, demonstrates his steadfast loyalty, while Tango, the cat, remains an erstwhile observer.
