Charli (Charlotte) is one tough woman. Her first time meeting Waylon, Gage and Dakota is a colosaal screw up on her part. Fate has a funny way of stepping in. This story has steamy melting scenes with three guys and one lady. Their relationship was tested numerous times. They do get their HEA.

Narrator Thomas Locklear has his growly and moaning sexiness working overtime with these characters. The man reading the end credits is sexy as hell, so imagine what he does to my loins reading this book lol.

I just couldn't get into this one. Charlie's character was a complete turn off for me. I couldn't stand her. But damn the narration was awesome.

Plot errors and inconsistencies throughout

Was this edited? The author couldn't even keep their own facts straight with the sex scenes much less the rest of the plot: calling the female lead an anal virgin after she'd already banged Dakota and he'd forced anal sex on her the first time they had sexual intimacy. Then when she gets in the first group sexual encounter and Gage comments she's an anal virgin and she spouts, "what of it," like Dakota hadn't already taken her there? Really, she couldn't keep that straight? Then there's the whole issue of complete lack of realism with the non-vaginal intercourse (preparation or lubricant) and the completely unrealistic portrayal of that act. I get departing from reality in fiction but that's a bit too much, because what they're describing would have caused a fair bit of tearing and bleeding if the anatomy of the men hadn't been exaggerated, not fun I can assure you.

Then of course it'd be great if the author could use proper nouns instead of using pronouns for everyone in situations in which multiple characters are interacting: "he spoke to him about the man," who spoke to whom about which third character? Then there were verbal responses that didn't match up to what had been said or what had gone on before. It was impossible to keep straight in some of the scenes.

So the poor editing would be bad enough if the female lead wasn't a vag-led idiot who had no self-control or self-respect, putting herself in a vulnerable situation with THREE men, one of which is obviously using her and means to destroy her father's business and her life in the process despite them really having done nothing wrong. The fact she realized how much he lied and that he was probably guilty falsifying reports and still went into a sexual relationship with all three of them just blew me away. How stupid could a person be? I just couldn't get past how idiotic her decisions were how much she could whine about it after the fact. I would much rather have my female leads operate with a little more circumspection, using their intellect more than being swayed by the hot guy rather than the loyalty do her father despite his faults especially knowing this guy she's fooling around with means to take everything from her and her father. Yeah, I just had no respect for her allowing herself to be used like a sex toy. And besides preferring a little bit of realism with the sex scenes (because the portrayal here is just NOT FACTUAL) I disagree with such inaccurate portrayals making younger less experienced and mature readers think anal sex without preparation would actually be like this and causing actual physical harm, but hey it's just fiction, right, who needs to be accurate?

There seems to be multiple little stories within the main storyline throughout this book. In the beginning it starts with the (h)Charlotte aka Charlie discovering her boyfriend having sex in the bathroom at the bar they were supposed to meet for a date. That resulted in her bashing what she thought was his truck with a baseball bat only for the actual owner Dakota and his two friends Gage and Wyland to confront her. She has a choice they call the police or she lets them punish her. Of course she gets punished by being spanked by all three in the parking lot. She was even turned on by the act.
Next her father has a heart attack and everything they own is tied to an oil rig he bought without telling her. She will have to takeover running that rig in the middle of the ocean now that he's unable. Of course she soon discovers there's more to the deal than he told her. Plus the three men she had a run in with in the bar parking lot were hired by her father to work on the rig. Lets just say this is where the story really begins. The sexual tension between the four will play a big part in the story as well as the backstory of each man and the secrets they each have. Especially since one of them is there for nefarious reasons.
There is espionage, deception, danger, betrayals, lies, drama, a hurricane along with a tumultuous steamy relationship growing between the four of them.

As a side note:
I must say I just wish someone would finally write a book where the female lead would actually be strong and stand up to the male/males instead of cowering and getting mushy because they make her horny. 😒 I want to see her be strong and hold her libido in check and kick a** for once. I want her to talk the talk AND walk the walk !!!! Let her dictate how, when and if there will be any sexual connection. Now don't get me wrong I enjoy a good alpha man/men and what goes into that dynamic. I just wish that they had to work for it instead of taking it without repercussions.

I thought that this book started off with a great premise. It basically played out the song Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood throughout the first chapter and ended it with Charlie getting the spanking of a lifetime from three brutish men in the parking lot of the bar. I was giddy about the exploration of the dynamics between the three men and this little lady who destroyed their truck. But the next thing I knew it was in the middle of the ocean on an oil rig and the story seemed to take a complete 180* turn. Now it was about backstabbing corporations, finding a saboteur on the rig and mending fences between friends from long ago. Yes there were some rather intense and satisfying bedroom scenes between the four of them and with each man individually, but not enough to even out the rest of the story which frankly bored me and left me feeling cheated about what the story was going to be about. I briefly considered giving up and DNF the story, but decided to stick with it, if nothing else to find out why the bad guys were and how that whole story line was going to eventually end.

When Charlee took a Louisville slugger to the truck of her cheating ex, her aim was true, and the damage massive! It was perfect, epic, revenge, till it wasn’t! When Dakota Fleming left the bar with his two friends, he wasn’t amused to see Charlee whaling away on HIS truck. That’s was when he took off his belt! “Rough and Dirty” is a stunningly perfect “why choose” romantic suspense thriller! Seriously this one is PERFECT in every way! The writing is not only beautiful, but perfectly balanced managing to bring out every emotion one could possibly feel! There were moments that were delightfully witty and laugh out loud funny, moments that were heart wrenching and poignant, along with plenty of edge of your seat, heart in your throat, pulse pounding moments that make you want to up the speed to break the tension! I didn’t because this one is just too good to chance missing anything! The plot, THIS PLOT, is truly wonderful! Filled with twists, mystery, intrigue, suspense, action and OMG naughty, so naughty delicious HEAT. I devoured this story like a woman on a mission! I love how Piper Stone’s writing is always so clear and smooth flowing, and this story is no exception. I was completely immersed and left with no unanswered questions after all was revealed! Speaking of the reveal, WOW, this one took me completely by surprise! I loved it, ugly tears, fist pumping, no spoilers, not gonna tell, loved it! Now the narration, holy rockstar Batman! Thomas Locklear really set the bar with his world class, second to none narration. Every vocal choice, male AND female, beautifully performed, distinct, easily identifiable and consistent throughout the entire performance! Every emotion perfectly conveyed and perfectly voiced. I did not have to take a single note, and for me THAT is really saying something! THIS is golden statue narration perfection! It just does not get any better! On the whole, Rough and Dirty is the complete package, writing and narration five star, knocked it out of the park gold and I loved it!

Dakota has been on an oil rig with her dad most of her life. He was a hard task-master but Dakota now had enough skills to run a rig from the inside out. Along the way, she learned valuable life lessons, swam with and photographed incredible sea life, and even graduated high school early with A's and B's. Of course, that left her with a hard shell on the outside and a loud, opinionated mouth that tended to get her in trouble. It wasn't bad enough when she caught her boyfriend and Boobie Barbie going at it in the bathroom of a bar they were to meet at after her being on a rig for 30 days. Nope, that was bad enough but then she got the great idea to take her Louisville Slugger to his truck. Yep, she did a number on that thing. Too bad it turned out to be someone else's truck and she had the option of having the police called on her or take her punishment right there in the bar's parking lot. It was Dakota's truck but his buddies Wyland and Gage were right there with him, backing him up all the way. Well, if you're the least bit knowledgeable about superstition, then you know things generally come in three. Her idol … her rock … her dad had a heart attack and they needed her at the hospital immediately. One bad decision after another led her to be in charge of an oil rig her father had bought and made her promise to run the job and honor a contract he'd worked out. Low and behold but wouldn't you know the three men who had disciplined her for bashing in the truck were hired to work on the rig. There's drama, mystery, danger, deception, revenge, and espionage along with loyalty, caring, intense chemistry, plus a few surprises thrown in. Ms. Stone just keeps them coming and this one is another to add to her long list of winners.

When you are hurt sometimes you lash out our girl was hurting after being cheated on and need to take that stress out on someone or something and that leads us to the beginning of a whole new relationship, or I think we can call it that 😊. Charlotte is hurt after catching her boyfriend cheating on her after asking her to meet him at the pub as she is leaving hurt decides to do something so many of us wish we were brave enough to do what she did (just make sure it is the right vehicle) while with a friend they decided to smash up his new truck or so she thought. Wyland, Gage, Dakota three sexy as best friends that work together than apart, each one of the guys have different careers Dakota a Geologist, Gage a retired Army Explosion Tech, and the Wyland a retired county singer and each watching at the feisty girl who just damaged their truck and they aren’t going to allow her to get away with out some type of punishment so tracking down the oil rig where she worked/co-owned with her dad wasn’t that hard and from the moment the four of them meet the chemistry is off the charts but even more so when they tell her why they are there well they tell her after her spanking that they are her new employees which makes for a really hot working environment should we say 😊 but will they withstand a hurricane, sabotaging, ensuring her safety through it all, will is against, and will this feisty girl finally get her HEA with all three of her roughnecks?.

Charlie is one tough woman. She gets mad at her so-called boyfriend once she catches him in the act – she decides to destroy his truck – however, it’s not his truck she destroys. The truck actually belongs to Dakota. He is at the bar with his friends Wayland and Gage. When they walk out on Charlie destroying his truck, they take action and decide to spank her. Charlie gets off on this, and after all is said and done, she can’t get those 3 hots, gorgeous, dark men out of her mind. These men all have secrets and Dakota is out for revenge. When they meet again and realize that Charlie is the boss – let’s just say, let the games begin!

Great story, great characters and something I didn’t see happening! Shenanigans, drama, some steamy scenes, dominance, secrets, deception, revenge, truths, suspense – this story has it all! Piper Stone doesn’t disappoint and I look forward to seeing what she comes out with next!

Wow! What a fantastic story. I wasn’t able to put the book down until it was finished. This story is about an oil rig and espionage and a reverse harem between Wyland, Dekota, Gage and Charlotte or as she prefers to be called Charlie. Charlie‘s father has a heart attack and she discovers that everything that they own is tied into this oil rig out in the ocean and she only has one chance to make it successful or they lose everything. Dekota‘s father once owns this rig and he sets out to destroy Charlie and her father financially until he realises that it wasn’t her father who destroyed his father’s business. Between two people trying to destroy the rig through espionage and the oil Corporation that Dekota used to work for trying to keep these people from succeeding. In the meantime, Charlie, Wyland, Dekota and Gage start a relationship that’s tumultuous but also very steamy which eventually leads to happily ever after.

What a great title this was for this book, as it encapsulates the essence
beautifully. It was a rough ride, alright, with it's reverse harem theme. It
was seductive, daring, filled with tension and hope. There were many
layers of complexity to the character, each fighting their demons. I liked
how the story jumped straight into action with Charlie finding out that
revenge was not always sweet. Talk about being surprised when Dakota,
Gage, and Wyland turned up on the rig she was in charge of in her father's
absence. Revenge reared its ugly head throughout the storyline with
Dakota seeking payback of is own.Charlie was an interesting character. She
was someone who did not like to be told what to do but thrived when
sandwiched between the three men. The slow burn between the
characters burst into flames with it's sizzling chemistry that was off the
charts. Another exciting read that took my breath away by this talented
author.

This was a fast-paced storyline, with an abundance of sizzling scenes, lots of drama, and plot twists.

Given that Charlie ends up with all 3 men, I would have liked to see alternating POVs. The content and storyline would have allowed for that, but I get it if this was a creative decision made by Piper Stone. I got to learn about Gage and Wyland, but only through Charlie and Dakota’s POVs - so those felt really subjective. Their chemistry was off the charts though.

I would call this one a dark romance, and certainly, read the trigger warnings first before getting into this. It is not for the faint of heart. And, as an aside - there is such a thing as too much spanking. Perhaps some restraint on these men’s part would have been appropriate. I don’t get why they would spank her on the same day she was in an explosion and probably has a concussion. Maybe hold off on the spanking for maybe a day or so?

“I made a promise to myself that I’d never allow her to get any closer.”

What a wonderful change of pace. After numerous books with shifters, mafias, and billionaires, this new book has three alpha riggers that seriously took my breath away. Charlie, the heroine, is one of the toughest I’ve read about in awhile and it makes sense it would take three strong, dominant men to handle her. Their chemistry was explosive and not just in the bedroom. I think they short circuited my tablet!

The only thing I wish had been different is that the pov was either Charlie or Dakota. I would have liked to get inside the thoughts of Gage and Wyland as well. I think that would have made it even better.

This book is a standalone and the best book by Piper Stone I’ve read it quite awhile. Since I’m a huge fan of hers and read almost everything she publishes, that’s saying something. If you’re only going to read one book by her, make it this one. It’s fantastic!.

This story completely blew me right out of the water. Charlie is one feisty lady who do not know much about life, but she's willing to fight til the very end to keep her dad’s dream alive. Whereas Dakota, Gage and Wyland has had a tough and rough upbringing, but together they made something of there lives. How ever it came to be they have suffered a great deal. I love that it was Wyland’s gig that brought them together, Dakota’s need for vengeance that bonded them and Gage’s words that sealed their faith as a family. I also love how Charlie is determined to get to the bottom of her dads business and the truth behind Dakota, Gage and Wyland being on the rig. This alone had me on edge til the end. Most of all I love how all the secrets came out, mistakes were corrected and life finally began for Charlie and her men.

OMG!! Wow what another absolutely amazing book by Piper Stone, The story was hot and steamy with the spiciness with the characters. Charlotte likes to be called Charlie went to meet her boyfriend at the pub he suggested, she walked into the pub to see her boyfriend and ended up seeing him with another woman, she went outside smashing her now ex-boyfriend. Three mates Wyland, Gage and Dakota they grew up together all separated in the careers they had chosen and then they found each other they went to the pub for a drink, when they went outside they seen someone smashing a truck then took off. I loved the story the three men could not forget the little spitfire they wanted to look for her, will they be able to find her.

Awesome Book!!!

I absolutely loved reading Rough and Dirty!!! All about Charlotte Cannon a girl in her mid twenties who was a Tool Pusher on an oil rig & Dakota Fleming a Geologist, Gage Henderson a decorated Ex-Army Explosion expert & Wyland Dixon a washed up country singer. Read about Charlie, Dakota, Gage & Wyland and the unique situations they end up in!!! This is a page turner from the beginning to the end, I could not put it down!! The intense story was what held my attention, as well as the chemistry between Charlie & the guys was gripping!!! Plus I have a lot of friends who work on oil rigs, and it was cool to read about a women working in this dangerous field!!! The emotions are truly incredibly described as are each of the toe curling incidents!!! Definitely recommend this book!!!!

Charlie is in a tough situation, put there by her father. She runs the oil rig her father owns, and is up against nearly impossible odds to make it a success. Enter the three best friends she tangled with at the bar. Three men who have lost nearly everything themselves have come together as roughnecks, and want to share Charlie in every way. At first, she is resistant, but not very. None of them can deny the electricity that runs through them when they are together.
This is another really good one by Piper Stone. The men are as rough and dirty as three men can get, particularly delicious in Charlie's quarters. Charlie is just as tough as they are, and they love her for it. The ending, particularly their HEA is sweet. This is a book well worth the one click.

Yes this story is steamy, but it's got big heart and it's full of big dreams. With a plot that has a smidgen of drama and mystery and characters, with a broken pasts yearning heal, you will quickly find yourself caught up in this steamy read. It was hard not to like feisty Charlie as she tries to save everything her family has worked for, all for a pipe-dream. With no one to trust and nowhere to turn, she finds that her only options maybe the three dominant, handsome, roughnecks who want nothing more than to punish her for being the naughty girl she really is. What a disaster!😜 Can she manage to focus on the job at hand long enough to make it through or while she give in to the passionate heat that ignites between them?❤️‍🔥.

Throughly enjoyed this book!

-Thomas Locklear and Piper Stone are a combination that I always grab hold of. This one was amazing.

Piper has grown with this genre and she always has strong heroines. This one really kept me involved in the story. All of characters held my mind and heart. So much happened in this book and I feel that Piper has developed more into this story. Great story building in this one! Hot sensual interactions with all of the main characters. It really had me wanting to follow along with all of them!

Not hard when an audiobook is done by the professional, Thomas Locklear who always amazes me. The first narrator who had me searching for all of the narrators of an audiobook when it was all him! Really, if you haven’t heard Thomas you need to enjoy all his audiobooks!

Hot times on the rig! Charlotte/Charlie (h) is incensed that her boyfriend is cheating on her and proceeds to trash his truck outside a bar, only problem is that it wasn't his truck. Dakota (H) isn't happy about his truck and he and his friends, Wyland (H) and Gage (H), spank her as punishment. Everyone's in for a big surprise when they meet again on the new oil rig that Charlie has to get up and producing fast while her father recovers in hospital. Things get hot and heavy between the four very quickly, but one of the men has a secret reason for being on the rig and it could splinter their burgeoning relationship. High heat rough reverse harem action with spankings. It took me a while to see the characters as more than just sex partners but by the end I found I did like them all.

Not one, not two, but three!

Get out the fire hoses because this book is as hot as a five alarm fire!!! I loved this book and so far, it is the best of the lot so far. Wyland, Gage and Dakota had been friends for most of their lives. Each has a secret that brought them to the old rig that Charlie was part owner of along with her dad. When all four of them run into each other the sparks fly high. There is somebody who doesn't want them to succeed. It just goes to show you that you just can't trust people even if they are family to you. I recommend this book for folks that like suspense with lots of hot and rough lovin' along with some spankings then you got the right book! If not, then this is not your book.

dark, dangerous, and delicious

The chemistry between these characters is electric. I enjoyed the story and watching the characters heal and grow and open up about their pasts, then finally get out of their own way and embrace the life they deserve. Charlotte is so headstrong and stubborn, but she’s also dedicated, loyal, and hard working. At last she meets her equals. I can’t stand an interesting, dynamic female character being paired with a brutish, static, know it all male character. This isn’t the case here, which is part of the reason I enjoyed it so much. I’m a sucker for character growth and strong, dominant alphas who can be tender when they need to. This is a well-written, engaging tale with interesting characters and an unpredictable plot. Well done!

This is a story about Charlie and 3 men that come into her life rather unexpectedly. Charlie finds her boyfriend cheating on her and when leaving decides to get a little revenge on his truck. Turns out it is not his truck and she is "punished" by 3 gorgeous but rough men. Then finds out these men have been hired by her dad to be on the oil rig she is going to be running. The story has lots of action with trying to find out who is trying to sabotage her as well as hot steamy parts between Charlie and her men. Lots of secrets being but they all come out and help bring the story together. Not my favourite of her books but still good.

I am new to reading the reverse harem books, but I found that I really enjoyed this book.

This story is about Charlotte, who catches her boyfriend cheating in her at a bar. In retaliation she uses a bat to smash up his truck. Unfortunately for Charlotte the truck actually belongs to someone else.

Charlotte is confronted by the truck owner and his two friends and they decide to teach her a lesson. The problem is that she likes the lesson.

That evening Charlottes learns that her father is I’ll and she has to manage his oil rig. When she arrives at the rig she learns that the tree men she met at the bar work on the rig.

There were several spicy and steamy scenes. I would recommend this book.

Wonderful title. Charlie finds that her boyfriend has cheated on her so she goes outside and beats the heck out of his truck. Opps, it's not his truck but belongs to Dakota, Gage, and Wyland. She ends up getting a spanking in the parking lot of the bar. When Charlie's father dies she finds out that he put everything into an oil rig in the middle of the Ocean. Now Dakota, Gage, and Wyland work for her. This story was so hot between the four characters as each has their own dynamics. The story has deception, danger, espionage, lies, drama, betrayal, a hurricane and the steamiest relationship between the four characters. Awesome story. Love anything that Piper Stone puts out.

Dakota, Gage, and Wyland, oh my!! The title says it all! Three beyond gorgeous guys and they all want you--what more could a girl ask?!?! Charlie has been stood up by her boyfriend and then she sees him with another woman. So she leaves the bar and takes a Louisville Slugger to his truck. But whoops, wrong vehicle. Turns out that's where the three hunks come in. Then Charlie gets word that her father has had a heart attack and now she's in charge of an off-shore oil rig. Guess who shows up as part of the crew! Then the romance begins. All three men are smitten and Charlie feels the same. If sex between more than two people upsets you, then this book is not for you. There are spankings and rough sex as well. I loved the characters and the story is well written. Good read!

Charlie and her oil men!

Great story ,lots of action. Poor Charlie, gets stood up by he cheating boyfriend and decides to take action against his truck but doesn't realize it's wrong truck and the owner and his two friends decide to teach her a few things like using her bare bottom. So her father gets sick and she has v to save their rig.So the three men that her father hired come to the rig and they realize that the same girl that they gave her a lesson.So they work together and her bottom is bare alot.They find out that someone is out to sabatose the rid and people are caught Charlie and Dakota 's father buy back the rig and now Charlie, Dakota, Gage,Wayland can start a life has cowboy 's!Great story,Keeps you interested!

I LOVED Charlie’s character! She is tough as nails, strong willed, snarky woman working in a man’s field. She held her own when she needed to and then submitted to the alpha males that crashed into her life. Dakota is the overbearing alpha-hole, Gage is the wounded bear and Wyland is the calming tide between them all. The story begins with a misunderstanding, then a chance encounter sends the sparks flying. Fast paced action and loads of steam with a spanking (or more) thrown in keeps the heat level high and the reader engaged.

★ “We’re not finished, Charlie. Not by a long shot.” ★

—>>> Charlie makes her statement in a big way when her presumed date obviously reaches a bitter and regretful end that evening…but she definitely already is acquainted with the three men who had witnessed her unleashed emotions only too recently…on their ride. I loved the three different possessive Alpha-male characters, and the very tightly woven, complicated plot which threw many challenges (besides Mother Nature) into the mix, and Charlie trying her very best to do right by her father’s wishes. I wanted more hot encounters between them, but their HEA will be exactly what they were all hoping for and more.

This story has everything that keeps your attention, danger, sabotage, betrayal, misunderstandings, risk and last but not least lots of hot sex. Three men (Wyland, Dakota and Gage) quickly become very important to Charlie and vice versa. There is a HEA for Charlie and her men but a lot happens before this comes about. This is an action packed story that holds your attention and keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next. I loved the story and would definitely recommend it as a great read.
