In one word, WOW! Another episode in the Sarah Brown series that keeps you riveted to your seat. When Sarah sees the one person she though she could trust talking to her captain, she knows she has to bring down the Brotherhood alone. Who can she trust now? She leaves and goes up to her aunt's cabin only to find a dead body and someone called it in so she has to get out of there and hide since they would arrest her for killing the body she found at her aunt's cabin. Who can she trust? Where can she go. The only possibility she has where she could possibly get some help is with the IT nerd, Noah, that worked at the precinct. She goes to his house and finds he doesn't want to get killed like everyone else and doesn't want to help. But finally, she does convince him and he takes her into a very sophisticated lair where there is amazing computer, video and sound equipment. And so the two of them do what they do best and go after the Brotherhood while trying to stay under the radar. But they always seem to be a step ahead of the pair. Will she get caught or will Noah? Can Noah be trusted? Who is he, really? Is he who he says he is? We are left with a wonderful ending and a cliff hanger that makes you want more NOW! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Sarah Brown and the Hunt is Book #4 of the Sarah Brown Female Detective series, written exceptionally well by Audrey Walker. In this episode, Sarah discovers that certain people she thought was trustworthy were anything but that. I won't say much more about this, except that there is only one person she has decided is trusting enough to help her bring down the Brotherhood. There is another murder, if which Sarah has been implicated. The dead naked man's decomposing body is found in Sarah's aunt's house. There is also another murder near the end of the book. This episode is filled with computers savvy surveillance, false identities, billionaire bad guys, and Sarah's dead partner's wife sexually cheating with a main character who is also married. I must say I was totally disappointed to find out who a couple of the bad guys are, and that they are part of the Brotherhood! This book is exceptionally well-written, as is this entire series, and can hardly wait to read book 5 when it is released the end if December 2022. I gave this book 5 big fat stars, but it deserves way more. I love this author's books!
The saga of Sarah Brown and the evil forces with whom she is fighting continues in this fourth novels the of this series. Once again Sarah is going up against powerful and mysterious adversaries that seem to control most of the people in her personal and professional lives. The writing is in the terse, no nonsense style I have come to expect from Audrey Walker. She wastes no words in drawing the reader into the action, moving quickly through unnecessary background distractions. I did learn new information about detective Brown including about skills she exhibited while in the military. I found some of the scenes slightly unbelievable in this section of the story. While our heroine is apparently running from her fellow police officers she can still walk in and out of the police station and the local prison without a problem. Perhaps a little more clarifying detail would have helped. I received an ARC and this is my honest review of this novella.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The story begins with Sarah at the police station where she sees Amanda talking to Noah. This upsets Sarah. Noah then calls her into his office to find out how she is doing with her investigation. After talking to Noah, she then goes to her aunt's house where she discovers a body. She hears on her radio that someone had called this in, so she quickly left. Once the police arrived, she went into hiding with the knowledge that they wanted to arrest her.
After hiding for a couple of hours, she tried to figure who might help her now. She finally thought of Lucas and proceeded to his house. Noah was hesitant at first, but finally agreed that he would help.
Follow Sarah and Lucas as they try and learn who is ultimately behind the Brotherhood and what other facts they also discover. Definitely get this book, you won't be disappointed.
Who is not in The Brotherhood? This part of the Hunt is quite busy! Sarah has a great camaraderie with Lucas, the geek IT guy who just happens to be open to helping her with ... anything concerning this case. They are going thru many different manouvres to try and find the full amount of persons in The Brotherhood, to find who was all involved in the killing of her Aunt, the woman who was found dead on her vacation property, and William, her partner who she thought was a bad guy and a good guy. The ending of this part left more questions than it answered. I can hardly wait to read the next one to find out who is behind the beginning of this, and why they found it so important to just kill everyone who was not a part of their group, or who did not do their bidding! Thank you Audrey Walker for another great story!
Sarah Brown and the Hunt: A totally gripping female detective thriller Novella packed with mystery and suspense (Sarah Brown Series Book 4), my twenty-ninth read from author Audrey Walker. An 80-page page-turning read that I finished in about an hour. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with Sarah Brown and the Betrayal: A totally gripping female detective thriller Novella packed with mystery and suspense (Sarah Brown Series Book 5) next on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
In this novella, the fourth of five, Sarah feels she cannot trust her friends, her boss and maybe her previous boss. Who can she trust? Thankfully Ivan her terrified IT colleague seems to be proving trustworthy and the two of them join forces to try and uncover The Brotherhood. It is gripping writing but at the end, apart from knowing even more people who are involved, there remains lots to uncover. I am eagerly awaiting the final novella and highly recommend the series. I received an ARC for an honest review.
She isn't as prolific as she used to be but a new publication from Audrey Walker is always an event to cherish and she kicks off this installment of Sarah Brown's career with the discovery of a decomposing corpse. But the decomposing corpse might just smell sweeter than all the corruption surrounding get boss and his boss too. And the corruption doesn't stop there. Sarah has enemies invisible and evil and death stalks her as never before. If you haven't read Audrey Walker before now is the time to get started.
What an absolutely amazing read. The plot and story line are well written and really enjoy following this continued link of characters and plot. Love the well fleshed out characters and really enjoy following their story. The story gripped me from the start and I am never disappointed with this author. Recommend reading highly.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of the book and this is my honest voluntary review.
This story gets better and better with each novella. It's surreal with the amount and level of people involved in the Brotherhood. They are after Sarah and Lucas but with Lucas technology, they are managing to stay one step ahead of them. In the meantime Sarah is trying to figure out who they can trust to bring what evidence that she and Lucas have accumulated thus far.
This book was filled with intrigue. It was action packed and fast paced. Sarah Brown finds a new ally , Lucas , to help her fight the Brotherhood. Lucas is a former colleague and a computer expert. I look forward to reading the next Sarah Brown book, and I highly recommend this book to other thriller readers. I received an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.
Sarah knows too much and the Brotherhood which has a wide reach, is out to get her. Lucas helps her. Things heat up as Sarah finds out more crucial evidence about the Brotherhood and she is in hiding. I enjoyed reading about the various strategies Sarah and Lucas employ to stay alive. Will they succeed or are they doomed? Suspenseful page turner.
Sarah Brown is trying to expose the Brotherhood and who in the police is involved. Sarah suspects her Lieutenant Fields but needs proof. She enlists the help of a computer whiz. She does not know who she can trust as she is on the Brotherhood list for her death or framed for a crime. Well written storyline that makes you want more.
Great addition to the series. Who can Sarah trust, if anyone? Will she be able to get answers and evidence of the Brotherhood activities? And her innocence? Read and find out how far they have gone and what they (The Brotherhood) plans to do.
I received this as an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.
As the story continues Sarah and her new partner have unraveled more people in the Brotherhood. More people die and Sarah is in hiding. I can’t wait to see who the top people are in this top secret Brotherhood organization. It seems that even Sarah’s old friend has turned against her and she realizes that she can’t trust anyone.
I am really enjoying this series that I believe should be read in order. It's a fast paced police suspense. The characters are well developed and engaging. My only problem with this series is that you need to purchase the next one to get to the end of the story....
Book #4 in the Sarah Brown series is a very entertaining addition. It’s a fast paced page turner. The storyline is interesting and the characters are very likable. It’s a good thriller. * I received an arc for an objective review*
Are any of Sarah's co-workers honest, or are they all members of The Brotherhood (or their lackies)? Even Amanda is not the person Sarah thought she was. The momentum is really ramping up now. I can't wait to learn who will be the ultimate winner. Sarah Brown or The Brotherhood?
This is the best yet in the series. Style is a bit different for some reason with ***** separating parts of chapters. Some surprise disclosures were made and it looks like there may be another surprise before the end. My only complaint is that I have to wait until 12/31 for the last installment.
Just when you think this series can't get any better, bang, you are blown away. Audrey Walk really draws the reader in and there's no way out. This is definitely a must read series. I received this arc for free and I wanted to leave an honest review.
This book was intriguing! It keeps me on my toes while reading through the story! I don't understand yet what they plan to do to all these bad guys! Hope they are careful!
Audrey is a great storyteller. She is fast becoming my favorite ones. She has great characters and keeps the twist and turns coming. It makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens next.
So, book four in the series and so engrossing. It’s getting more and more intriguing with every book. Cannot wait to find out what happens next. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed reading this story as Sarah and Lucas discovered more corruption as they avoided being killed. I recommend this story for the young adult reader.
