Though she was sent to kill him, she ended up becoming his wife.
Usually, when someone tries to kill Andrei Kuzmin, he lets them live long enough to regret the day they were born. Yet, when a beautiful assassin crashes his wedding, he sees it as a good omen. He needs a wife more than he needs revenge. His contract bride has run off, ruining all of his carefully laid plans. Now, he’s left with a hitwoman in his bedroom. His little assassin has two choices, a wedding or a funeral.
She chooses a wedding and changes both of their lives forever.
I loved this book! It had a lot of humor and great banter between the characters and M’Renee even added in a LGBTQIA couple in the mix. Not at all what you’d expect to read in a mafia romance called Dark Vows but trust, there’s nothing dark about this book. Dahlia, the heroine is absolutely hilarious. She’s an assassin who falls for a man on vacation while both are under assumed names. He happens to be in the mafia. They find each other again and the fireworks begin. This was just a fun read. Probably my favorite of the series. Enjoy!
I didn't love this one. There were funny, funny moments but I wanted to know how they met and connected. I'm a fan of this author so whatever she writes, I read. Please don't let my review deter you, I could just be me, at this moment in time. Recommended: Read It!
This book disappointed me because I thought this book was going to be more I don’t know just not what I thought it was it first off it took way too long for them to actually get to the romance, part of the book, and then the romance part of the book wasn’t even really romance. It was just smart, which I don’t care about. Everyone knows I love it, but you can’t have smart without the love, otherwise it’s just not good and it took them almost to 60% of the book to actually get them to get somewhere when it comes to the relationship like the whole book wasn’t even good really like it. The whole book was mainly them getting up to the point of the quote “fake marriage” but other than that it was boring. I’m sure the author can write better than this like not being mean I think that the author has more books out there that is more compelling so I’m gonna give the author another chance because I love to support my black queen authors this one just wasn’t it for me
I think the leads spent more time talking to and being with side characters than talking to and being with each other. I was waiting for the romance and the suspense of which neither came. Well, I guess if blackmailing, kidnapping, and handcuffing someone - literally into marriage is your idea of romance then this is right up your alley. This was more like "slapstick" humor "romance" in the form of: if a mafia crime boss and an assassin were to fall in love what would their courtship be like? M'Renee Allen deployed her usual formula of having characters talk around and around before getting to the point, but unfortunately, all of her characters behave and speak the exact same way across all her books. You know what you're going to get, the package might just have some minor differences. Very minor. In all, there were funny moments, but I just wanted some development between the mains or at least a chance to see how they fell in love. Aw well. Can't have everything, I suppose.
Two charcters that met under false pretenses. They were both trying to get away frim their daily lives. So they pretnded to me "normal."
They imtroduced themselves as Trent and Asia.....ha. of course Trent fell hard at first sight and Asia ran off.
Asia is working a job when yhe vross paths again. She is wearing a mask and everything, but Trent was still able to determine it was her.....lol
Of course, she gets away again. Then she lands in his home trying to get anpther job done. He has figured out who she is, but she is still unaware of his real identity.
All of that hits the fan on the day of his wedding to someone else. I enjoyed the read and the connection to other characters
Hearing vows recited with such gumption was interesting to say the least…
Running until you ran into your future (what a sprint)
Searching for the missing piece only to have special delivered…
Will the mother ever acknowledge her greed…
Why didn’t Lev confess so Andrei could help…
Grandma was the true glue that bound the family in the midst of…
Vacations, flings, strip clubs, fantasy themed rooms, tied up, out of commission, anxiousness, last minute assignment, impromptu wedding, house clearing, and basking in each other…
Andrei’s family are a piece of work, instead of his dad doing what he is suppose to be doing he decided to do what he wanted and cheat and steal from the mafia which got him killed and left Andrei having to for full a blood debt to keep his family and himself alive. His mother isn’t any better and I’m glad he pissed her off to the point she no longer wants to stay in his house or see him. She needs to learn to do for herself and stop deceiving her own kid.
I really enjoyed this story. It had a few of my favorite ingredients: a strong and intelligent heroine, a lovable alpha male, drama, murder, humor, passion, love, and hot monkey sex. I considered taking off a whole star because I didn’t get to experience the time in Florida with Andrei and Dahlia because it felt like I was missing part of the story. However, I don’t want to discourage anyone from reading this book. 4.5 Stars.
This was a wine in the hot take me away candle around the tub story to read. I enjoyed ever line, page, and disappointed when it ended. I wanted to see more of Dahlia & Andrew and there twisted dysfunctional family, with the beautiful crazy of Luce & Marco they had me laughing, love there energy. Kind of upset that I have to wait for book 4, but your stories our worth the wait.
What do undercover Mafia boss with ties to the Bratva and a Hitwoman have in common? One rocking weekend that ended with the Hitwoman disappearing to do a job. Hearts become involved following a misunderstanding (guns and knives are pulled), and the fun and games begin. Readers, get ready to laugh your way through this story. Andrei and Dahlia are crazy and have a cast of actors to support them. This is a fun, engaging story.
This couple ( Dahlia and Andrei) had me cracking up. 😂😂😂😂 Especially the wedding section of the story. Dahlia aka Asia, reminded me of another assassin. Sienna, Stefano DeLuca’s love interest. Btw, loved the DeLuca family connection through Andrei’s grandmother. Great read. ⭐️
This was witty and had clever dialogue. I found myself chuckling more than a few times. I really like how feisty the FMC was. The MMC was just the right amount of OTT J/P. It was a great book. I am definitely going back to read the others.
I 💘 the Dangerous Lovers series but book 3 gave me lots of good feels... there were interesting family interactions, kick-ass BW and witty (hilarious) dialog.
I wish to see this cute book-couple again in other M'renee Allen books
I like the story between Andretti and Delilah. I also like that there was mention of Enzo. I would’ve liked more to have happened to that mama if he is but all in all I enjoyed the story.
I see what you did M'renee. You managed to slip in the De!uca's . Nice we touch. Loved grandma, she was funny. His mother not so much, in fact not at all. Would love Zav's story with Kellie and who would be a great match for Peyton?
I enjoyed the hecknout of this! Dahlia had me rolling over with laughter and her sarcasm and death threats were right on time. I truly liked it. There were a couple hiccups but nothing too serious. All in all a fun loving read. 4 stars🌟🌟🌟🌟
