WARNING Spoilers ahead!
Even though this book is trademark Sinclair style, has all the feels, visits from previous characters and great sweet alpha males, I did not enjoy this story as much as the previous ones in the series. It was just not as cohesive and well planned as I believe it could have been...
Let me count the reasons:
1. It had a really rough start. There was a lot of trauma that happened in the first few chapters for Heather and also for Niall that I felt was too much and unnecessary.
Heather loses her mother, her lovers leave her when she finds out she’s pregnant and then she miscarries all right in the prologue. And Niall has some gruesome stuff happen to human coworkers and then he goes on a murder rampage in cougar form to take down some terrorist group, then he is badly injured and runs off into the wilderness. It all works to bring them together but I don’t think it needed to be so sad and so gruesome and so MUCH to get to that point.
Also at first I had a bit of trouble distinguishing between all the male main characters. This did clear up as the story went on and Sinclair did a good job of distinguishing between the three men and their voices (written in third person but from differing POVs) but it was a bit of a rough go at the beginning.
2. A personal frustration for me, many probably didn’t notice this, was that all the Canadian elements that Sinclair added to her male characters were either stereotypes or inaccurate.
Making the characters say ‘eh’ at the end of their sentences (not even naturally, we don’t just drop ehs all over the place).
Calling RCMPs ‘Mounties’ (we don’t refer to them that way) and having them behave like cops when they are the federal police equivalent to the FBI, they don’t follow up on murder investigations.
Having Madoc obsessed with donuts and griping about the lack of Tim Hortons and Saskatoon berries (for real, I’ve never even seen a Saskatoon berry, these dudes were NOT from Saskatchewan so wouldn’t be used to them at the local grocery).
Repeatedly calling the Yukon the ‘Yukon Territory’ (we just say Yukon).
Confusing a county with a province (a province is the equivalent to a state not a county, we have counties in Canada and know what they are).
ETC, ETC.
It just felt like the author googled ‘what are Canadians known for’ and then just plopped those things willy nilly into her book, not considering that Canada is a vast geographical area with many different cultural practices and traditions that are regional and would not apply to all Canadians.
Another Canadian annoyance was using France expressions for a Québécois character, you can’t just google ‘French expressions’ and use them for French Canadians, they are not universally true. A French Canadian (I fact checked this with my Franco-husband) would not say merde to swear, he would say Tabernac or Collice. It’s like writing an American character’s dialogue using British expressions, it’s a whole other country mes amis. This was toned down a bit once the characters settled into their roles in the US but I honestly wished that Sinclair had just made the characters American rather than trying to paint them with a bunch of ubiquitous Canadian stereotypes. Though I did appreciate them speaking of kilometres, I would have liked the word spelled in the Canadian way as I have done here.
3. There was a lot of story in this book, I think it might have been too ambitious and as a result the end was rushed and a bit anticlimactic. We have André the new cosantir having to clean up a huge mess in Ranier, we have the former Cosantir causing trouble, we have some ow drama with a vapid she-wolf who loves to chase the gods-called, we have orphans who come into play halfway through the book, we have personal issues of Madoc’s and why he hates females to work through, we have Heather’s past trauma and mistrust of males, then the males’ aunt comes to town and causes problems with HER trust issues all this while fighting hell hounds... it’s all too much. Then it all gets resolved in the final chapter in the most rushed way possible. I needed more but also, less.
So with all this stuff happening in the book we only got one sex scene with all four of them together. It was hot and well written, as Sinclair is always great at the smut, but I wanted more. This is her first shifter romance with three men, I came here for the Triple Penetration and got one scene!!!
Anyway it’s worth reading if you are following the series. I really liked all four main characters and found them compelling and I look forward to the next one in the series, which I predict will be Moya with Fell and Patrin who will clean up the wolf pack in Rainier. I will put money on it if anyone wants to bet.
And side note: the covers of these books get worse and worse. This one gave off inspirational clean romance vibes and was obviously a bad copy paste of various stock photography images. Cherise, it’s time to invest in a good graphic design studio and do an actual photo shoot with original artwork. Real talk, babe, these are bad and give off cheap self publish energy. You’re better than that.

There’s always a warm feeling of coming home after reading one of the Wild Hunt stories.
Lonely shifters that’d been hurt in the past finding a home,finding lifemates to share their lives with,is so satisfying to witness.
And it’s even better seeing them defeat bad apples and enemies along the way….
Cherise’s stories are always a one-click for me,and knowing this beauty was coming made me check the Apple Books store daily.
Because i needed Heather’s story,badly.
She’s such a sweetheart,and always ready to help,and defend,others.
Knowing she lost not only her unborn babies,but their fathers too,broke my heart.
She needed mates that stayed,that cared,and that shared the good and the bad times with her.
Life in Rainier Territory had grown worse these past years,so when her partner wanted to sell the company they owned,Heather decided to take the opportunity to leave her home in Ailill Ridge and find a new place to live.
But not before she called the Gods to warn them their Cosantir in her territory had lost his way,and they needed someone else to take his place.
It might be dangerous,and she might not even survive,but she couldn’t leave her home knowing the state it was in and not doing anything about it.
Hitting a cougar with her car put a halt to her plans of leaving….at least,until he’d healed enough to go home.
Having Niall in her home was nice,and she really liked him.
But he was going to leave,and a friendship was all she’d allow….
Niall tried to warn the youngsters he was working with to leave their search be for the weekend,but they didn’t listen….and paid for it with their lives.
He may have found the ones responsible for their deaths,and he may have gotten “justice” for them,but he still felt guilty.
Even if he was badly injured,and nearly paid for it with his own life.
Thankfully,the sweet wolf that nearly ran him over got him to a healer before he did.
Staying with her felt good,and when his brothers finally caught up with him,he was reluctant to leave.
Until he didn’t have to….because his brother André was called by Herne to become the new Cosantir.
André and Madoc were relieved to find their brother still alive,but being called by Herne when he had an altercation with the territory’s Cosantir when he asked him to help in their search,was not exactly what André had in mind.
Their plan had been to go home to Canada once they found Niall,but it seemed their plans had changed….
Finding out how bad the situation was in the Rainier Territory made it clear they were needed there badly,and he was not about to turn away from his new clan.
Together with his brothers,he made a start to find out what needed to be done,and who better to help then the sweet wolf that nursed Niall back to health?
She was efficient,he liked her no nonsense attitude,and she had a good sense of humor.
Niall liked her too,but Madoc….he wasn’t too fond of females.
Finding a way to get those 4 to agree they care enough to be together was a challenge,but that’s not all….
There were orphaned cubs that needed help,badly.
The finances were a mess,and needed straightening out.
The law was not doing what it should.
Buildings needed tenants that paid their rent.
The Gathering House needed repairing.
And added to all that,there was still danger lurking…… and people plotting to keep them apart!
I love how Cherise makes her heroes strong and caring,even if they have had a rough past.
And how she makes her heroines compassionate and loving,even if they had bad experiences in life.
How they all may need a little coaxing to open up to others,but when they do,they love with every fiber of their being.
How protective they are of the ones they love,and will do anything to keep them safe.
How they’re open to forgive others for past mistakes when they make an effort to do better.
And Heather,André,Niall and Madoc fit right in with all those others!
I loved them all,and i’m left with a very happy feeling at where they are now.

Whenever I think Cherise Sinclair has reached the pinnacle of her craft, she writes something that surpasses the last peak.
Heart of the Wolf tells the story of Heather, the visitor who has helped every heroine of the Wild Hunt books adjust to Gathering Night. It is a story with all the feels and will wrap itself around your heart, even when you know what is coming.
With the loss of her lovers, her mother, and her unborn cubs, Heather has given up on love. When she watches Pete, the Cosantir of her territory strike a cub, she decides she has nothing to lose and undertakes the dangerous rituals required to contact the Gods directly. She asks for Herne to replace Pete with a more fit and upstanding leader. She didn’t remember to beware of what you ask of the Gods-they do have a sense of humor. The Crichton crew, Andre, Niall and Madoc, have crossed the border from Canada after Niall took down a terrorist group and fled. After meeting Pete, they are preparing to leave when Herne steps in and switches the Cosantir’s power from Pete to Andre. Now the 3 brothers are stuck in the Rainier Territory while Andre finds out how to use his new power.
Heather had let Niall stay with her after he was injured in a car accident and when the brothers meet her, all are interested, although Madoc was deeply uneasy around females. As their interest grows, so does Heathers, but she has been avowing her lack of interest in a relationship. Can the brothers overcome her reluctance and win over the rest of the clan?
The issue is complicated by two of the youngsters Pete was using to commit crimes to line his pockets. Talam and Sky, orphaned and with nowhere to go, are picking pockets, shoplifting, and committing other crimes to have enough money for food. When Pete lies to them to persuade them to burn down Heather’s house, they come under the careful guardianship of the Crichton crew-and Heather. Can the brothers protect the youngsters, Heather, and the clan itself from the evil that the previous Cosantir brought on his people?
Totally enjoyable, Heart of the Wolf is a journey into a magical world peopled by the characters we have come to love from Cherise Sinclair.

This long awaited book wasn't bad but it wasn't as strong as some of the others in the series. It really lacked sufficient conflict and what there was was much too easily resolved.

It's the third time that I've read this book and I still haven't written a review.
I was so excited to finally see Heather get her own book. She most certainly deserved it.
It has everything I love in a book. Smexy times, sweet times and really hit the spot.

When you are invested in a story line, or a series, it really does not matter how long it takes for the author to release the books. In an age of instant gratification, I like that the author takes her time in building her worlds. The Wild Hunt Legacy is one of my all-time favorite series, I love what the author has done for this paranormal shifter world. Including “other folk,” humans, danger, love, and romance. This story is about Heather, she was in the last story when the Hellhound attacked the town in that story, and she helped the cahirs (warriors) defeat the beast. When she has about given up on everything the Rainier territory can offer her, she takes one last chance to protect the territory she loves so dearly. The introduction of three shifter brothers from Canada was a terrific variation to this story, we not only get some new blood, but I got great vibes from them from the start of the story. Heather, Niall, Andre’ & Madoc all have some baggage in one form or another, be it past ex-loves or losses in their short lives. I can highly recommend this series for lovers of paranormal romance, menage romance, or simply great romance.

Cherise Sinclair did it again… tenfold. If I could give a 10 stars, I would.
That is by far the most enjoyable I read for a long long time. In fact since her (4) Sons of survivalist series. But this one is even better.
It has all the elements that I just couldn’t put it down. The heroes are lovable. The plot goes in depth in every aspect such villain, love, sex, family, greaves, fears, kids, friends, family feuds… it really has it all.
This is a long story as I adore: 374 pages on my reader. I will never say it enough that short stories of 100-150 pages are never enough. Everything feels rushed, never developed enough. Unfinished.
I got tired of shifters Menages. Same old. Especially the heroes who generally have no distinct personalities. Boring.
No such thing with Heart of the Wolf. Every page I read was the smooth continuation of the relationship that made totally sense. It was not a meet-you-sex-you-mate-you within a week…. It was heroes with their fears, their past, their dreams and slowly but surely falling in love in a very realistic way.
That’s what Cherise Sinclair is mastering. True real Emotions. She wrote this story and it felt like a journey. An unperfect journey with ups and downs, just like real life with a happy ending without the over the top fairytale.
I am a menage romances reader, lover and occasionally now reviewer. And even though I am privileged to have received this ARC. I would just automatically buy everything Cherise Sinclair publish. I am not sure how she can be better and better but she is. This story will remain on my very top list and definitely a reread, a sweet comforting reread when nothing tempt me to read, which happens more and more lately.
Like always, I read the last words with a smile.
Now. Will wait Moya love story which considering the glimpses of mercenaries potential mates I discovered... Very subtle Mrs Sinclair, but I know your tricks lol. This should be another fun read, probably next year. Or Bron with potential middle aged (fox) heroes? Yes, that would do too!
But Heather’s story will remain my favorite…. For now 😉

I really liked this book, and I liked seeing more of this world and the characters.
I really liked reading about Heather and finding out more about her. I liked how Andre, Madoc and Niall had their own personalities and while there were enough scenes to clearly show Andre’s and Niall’s relationships with Heather, I thought that there could have been a bit more about Madoc and Heather as Madoc’s decision at the end is a bit sudden.
This book is set in a different territory, but I really liked that the main characters from the other books were shown, as Heather goes to visit them a few times.
I really liked Talam and Sky, and I liked the scenes that were shown from Talam’s POV. I did want to see a few more scenes where Talam and Sky spend time with Heather, Andre, Niall and Madoc, as them getting to know each other isn’t really shown.
I thought that there were some funny scenes and I liked how the main characters had to try to fix the town and clan, but I did want to see a few more scenes where they interact with others.
I really hope that there’s going to be another book as I want to find out more about Moya, and Darcy’s brothers.

While dealing with a bout of COVID, this story was a cozy blanket on a chilly day let me tell you.
Is it possible to write an innocent ménage fairy tale? Because this was like that. It has a mix of small town romance, evil villains who get their comeuppance, and a FMC who ends up with her perfect guys, all three of them. All the sexual action is MF, and focused on the FMC. Even when they curse it’s like a throwback to another time and place. The romance itself is more slow burn, and focused on all participants who need to heal from prior trauma. Now it’s not that innocent because it is a ménage, and there’s reference to sex with other people (completely common in this series and truly not a dealbreaker for me because of the way it’s handled). But if I had to describe the overall vibe, It’s a sweet and gentle paranormal romance and the danger comes from the life and death situations that pop up due to the aforementioned villains. Considering how I was feeling physically, it was just the escape I needed.
Content warnings for violence, child abuse, child neglect, references to past miscarriages.

The h runs a business, helps others while avoiding her awful leader. The brothers are still recovering from being tortured, as she quietly supports them. Loved this group who endured so much and were the catalyst for major change.

Well written, steamy MMMF paranormal romance, but with no MM action. Our heros are 3 shifter male litter-mates (2 cougars and a bear) and they finally all fall for a woman (Heather, a wolf), after many years living their adult lives happily single. There's an interesting back story and the romance is slow burn to start - except for the full moon gathering. Some of these characters have appeared briefly in previous novels, but this book does stand alone re the story and the romance. I would recommend reading this series from the beginning, just so you can immerse yourself in this shifter/magical world, it's just that entertaining. Be prepared for Pixies, Brownies and other fantasy creatures that live alongside our characters. Set in the mountains of 'Rainier Territory', NW USA and in Canada briefly. 😍

Another wonderful book by this author! Heather is alone in the world having lost her cubs recently. She is someone everyone loves in this community when suddenly another Cosantir is chosen to lead this pack. She had helped take care of his brother when injured and she ends up with the three brothers when she needed to heal from an injury.
Once again, I loved everything about this book.

LOVED it!!
I really enjoyed seeing the process of becoming a Cosantir, and really André was simply perfect for the job. I also found interesting to observe the dynamic between the trio and Heather, I was afraid one might feel left out and not sure how that would work out but it was simply perfect.
If I have to find one thing I didn't like, it was how André (being french Canadian) kept calling Heather french endearments, and one of them was "ma louloutte"
It was explained as one sweet word for "my little wolve" but I found it didn't fit André's personnality. He had a manner of speaking quite old fashioned and this phrasing felt wrong. This is what you call a child, or a friend, not a lover, definitely not during sexy times.
But this is a very minor issue !

MORE THAN 5 STARS!!
Not gonna lie I've wanted this book for a really long time. We were introduced to Heather from book one and I loved her right away. She was a bada** and so helpful to all of the other main characters.
I was so ready for her to have her book and her happily ever after. I was so happy after reading Healing of the wolf because finally it seemed like Heather was going to get her book.
Heather's always been helpful, understanding and caring to all of the females in the past books, she's helped them out in ways that no one else would. Starting with Vicki and Bree who grew up human and had no idea how to be a shifter.
In this book we start to see all the heartache that Heather has faced and I wanted her to have her happiness so much. Under all that bravado was a tender heart that had been hurt many times.
So she's just about given up on any chances of finding mates or having the children she longs for.
Not to mention her territory is a collateral mess and the guardian of the territory is doing nothing to fix it or make it a better place for the people.
This is why Heather has to take things into her own hands which leads her to Niall.
“Heather stood on the top step of the porch, her red hair blazing like dark fire in the sunlight. She planted her feet and crossed her arms. “You beetle-headed maggots, I’m the one who performed the Call to the Gods and asked for a change.” “Holy cat-spit.” Moya stared at Heather. “Seriously? You performed the ritual?”
Enter Naill, André and Madoc. Littermates that are content with their lives in Canada and aren't looking for a mate or anything else.
When life changes for Niall, André and Madoc they need help from Heather to get things back under control.
This was a slow burn story which I love from Cherise Sinclair, she does the slow burn so well! I am never disappointed.
I feel for each littermate slowly but surely, Cherise Sinclair makes male characters that are so swoon worthy! Each one was unique in their own way but there bond was unmistakable.
“Fuck me, she’s ‘pretty wolf.’” Niall stared at her. “André, she’s the wolf who attacked the mercs last summer.”
Add in the two orphans Talam and Sky who are in desperate need of care and I am completely in love with this book. I love when there are kids in the book and we can see their perspective. Makes you hurt and care for these two children who are motherless.
Talam and Sky broke my heart, I really had to take a moment to gather myself.
Cherise Sinclair will make you feel all the feelings, happy, sad, annoyed, angry and terrified.
Heather finally gets her mates and her happily ever after, and everything else that she's always wanted. I was so filled with happiness for her.
Thumping his palm on the picnic table, Madoc grinned. “So I love that female. When are we going to lifemate her?”

I absolutely love this author and jump when given a book to review. One of the things I love is that her males are alpha but not alpha-holes *Wink* and her females are strong yet feminine. This book was another winner for me. The only thing I might change was more of the trio building their bond together.
This is the story of Heather who has had a lot of heart ache the last few months. She lives in a shifter town with a Cosantir who really could care less about the people he protects. Heather is done and goes to ask the Gods for help. Help is what she receives in the form of three littermates who end up having their eyes on her.
The littermates all like women during the Gathering but that is about all. No thanks to the females who want more. Hard Pass to needy God-Chasers. When they stumble into Heathers small town due to a small accident. Heather cares for the one and is sad when the others arrive to take him home.
The brothers, Niall, Andre, and Madoc, find the current Cosantir the God make a huge change and Andre accepted it. Then the brothers learn of all they must do, and they enlist the help of a certain special and town loved female to help them.
Heather and the guys all grow and have a great friendship but suddenly slight touch and looks change between the men and her. They think maybe this Heather female is the one they can all share. Heather, however, isn’t having it. LOL
I loved the guys pushing her boundaries to make Heather open up but also making Madoc realize she is the one. I adored Heather and her special relationship with all the guys but Madoc…that one really warmed my heart. The bear has had a hard life and she was the one to make his open his eyes to the possibility.
Seeing friends from the past books was a great revisit for me a fan of the series. But seeing new romances, well that makes me very excited for the future.

Excellent Shifter romance

There are no errors that I can recall.
The characterisation is absolutely flawless, fans will already know and love Heather and this book provides the opportunity to get to know her properly. Her personality shines through and once again Cherise Sinclair gives her readers a strong female lead with a heart of gold.
Two of the male leads have also been met before, with a tantalising glimpse during the Litha celebration so rudely gatecrashed by the Scythe.
In keeping with the series, Heather's book is engaging and ensures you keep turning the pages. I don't want to say much more than that because I don't want to give any plot spoilers.
What I will say is that if you have read the previous books you will not be disappointed with this one.
If you have not read any of the books in this series but you are a shifter romance fan, you will absolutely love the series and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Lastly, even if you are not a fan of the genre I have to recommend the series, Ms Sinclair knows how to craft a good story and enable the reader to suspend belief.

Finally we have Heather's story, and it was worth the wait. She has been a wonderful supporting character in the Wild Hunt series and I, along with many others, have been eagerly awaiting her to finally get her HEA, and I was not disappointed one bit! I devoured this book quickly and now want to go and reread the entire Wild Hunt series.
Without giving away too much I'll say that Heather has been waiting a long time for her turn and she isn't looking for love. The Rainier Territory is in shambles with a horrid Cosantir that cares more about himself than the Daonain in his territory, and Heather knows that she has to do something because no one else will.
Her actions cause a cascade effect throughout the territory that impact multiple lives, especially hers, and the results are both positive and negative, and far reaching. Will Heather's actions save Rainier Territory and give her everything she's ever wanted, or will she lose all she's built for herself and all she's wanted in her attempt to fix what was broken?

Wonderful read!
I usually read books between 150 and 300 pages but I love this author and gave this 500 pager a chance to get me so interested that I wouldn't mind the length. Wow, this book did not disappoint! It was a bit different from most of the shifter books I've read and had some terms I had never seen but was able to understand their meanings pretty easily (There was a glossary at the end). There were many situations and problems to be solved. And it had so many wonderful characters, including the younglings that were very important to the story. I had read book 1 of the series and now I've read book 6. Guess I'll need to start getting the ones in between!!

I had read book 1 of the series and now I've read book 6. Guess I'll need to start getting the ones in between!!

another winner
Wonderful story about a strong woman, Heather, who is dealing with lose, but puts herself on the line again and again to make things better for her community, friends, loved ones,and children. Then you have the 3 brothers, Andre, Niall, and Madoc, strong men who have a major sense of right and wrong, but never knew what a loving family was. It was great getting to know each of the characters, their strong points and their weaknesses. Ms. Sinclair does a wonderful job of allowing us to see into each main character. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the books in the series in order, so you understand the interplay with different characters. Enjoy!

Heather finally got her book, and it’s a good one! Lots of new characters as the series moves to a new town but we still get to touch base with our old favourites. I like how Ms Sinclair weaves such colourful and likeable main characters and how you don’t get their full backstory right away.
Something truly is rotten in Rainer Territory and it’s great to follow along as they take out the trash. There’s still a few unsavoury characters left and I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
Even though it took me six hours and a bit to enjoy this book, it still felt like it was not enough. The author is brilliant but so much happened all the time that there were no real rest periods in between actions. I would have preferred a longer book that was more fleshed out for I cannot see any scene cut for pacing.
Several sex scenes but they all worked well within the storyline.

Love this “world”…
This story just makes you want to take your time reading and enjoy the ride. The mythology is unique in that the males in a litter mate together with one female and the cubs can be any animal, so that’s fun. Andre, Niall, and Madoc are typical protective alpha shifters. But they are also sensitive and thoughtful. Heather has a lot of baggage she just needs to have more faith in fate. Tearful at times yet always hopeful this tale will warm your heart, make you laugh, and leave you sighing.

I was so happy that Heather, a beloved character in the series, finally was getting her story. And it did not disappoint, full of emotion, action, and strong characters everywhere. This was a beautiful story of 6 souls that needed soothing, Heather, Madoc, Niall and André were obvious, as our lead love interests, but little Talam and Sky simply stole my heart. This authour weaves such a tale, you are drawn in, you visualize everything, you want everything and everyone’s story, and this was the same. Heather gets what she has always wanted but has alluded her. Her mates get what they needed but didn’t realize was missing. 4 people, all the love, and a growing family from the start, it was as perfect as a cuddle pile <3

Not as good as the others. Weak writing, uncoordinated plot. The author clearly wrote a setup for this in book 5, why didn’t that get used? This was way too convoluted, and was not as much fun as the others. The main character seemed to get the short shrift from the author. Sad, as the character was one of my faves through the series and I thought her book would be better.

So happy
I have waited forever for another story in this series. The build up to what Pete was going to do was great. Heather is smart, able and capable. No "oh rescue me!" Type of lead female. I loved her especially when all of her talents saved the day. The love shown between the 6 main characters made the story really touch your heart. I don't want to give anything away. Oh yes the author also visited with the strong women in the previous books!
So Cherise I hope you have another baby, oops, book coming soon. thank you so much for another great book.

Heart of the Wolf (book 6)
I like the young cubs finding a forever family. And of course, I like the new grownup characters in this book along with the suspense and growing family dynamics. I recommend this book by Cherise Sinclair and all others books penned by Cherise Sinclair. Looking forward to the next series edition.
