Title: The Boy Within the Walls
Author: Ebony Paige
Genre: Dark Fantasy/ Romance

Olivia Osmund embarks on a new life, totally alone. Her parents do not support her choice to move to Aumont University.
They deliver her to her new school and before she is settled, they leave her to find her way. She senses something mysterious from the beginning, but has no idea the direction things are going to go. After a random encounter with a family from her new locale, she begins to sense that things here will be different.

As Liv begins her first day at Aumont University, she discovers that this university is going to be very difficult to fit in. She is welcomed to the new school by Penny, who is the secretary and student registrar. But, not everyone is as friendly as Penny. She finds herself in the wrong class and then ends up being paired with Eric for a special assignment. Liv recognizes Eric as the boy who had been so rude to her the night before.

As their friendship blossoms, Liv still has strange things happening around her and she just can’t figure out what is causing these occurrences. Liv soon realizes that Eric’s family will play a huge part in her discovering the truth about who she really is and who she is destined to become. She will also discover the true identity of who Eric’s family is and the roles they will play in her life. While Liz and Eric’s feelings grow stronger, will they be able to have a future once they their destiny’s are revealed?

The Boy In the Walls is definitely a good read and it grips you with mystery and romance all in one package. It is a quick read. It is also book one in a series of 3. I am looking forward to the journey that Ebony Paige is going to take me on in the second book in the series.

The plot of the story was very interesting. I enjoyed the Norse mythology aspect of the book. But I feel like the story was very rushed and missing a lot of details. Liv and Eric's characters were very enjoyable... I would have like more information on Eric's family and Livs.

Great first book!

There are a few inconsistencies and punctuation mistakes, as there always are in the first few books of a budding author. The story line is a bit fast paced but it reads incredibly well and is addicting. Can't wait for the next one!

Trigger Warnings: death and grief, psychological trauma, romantic tension with power imbalances, isolation and emotional manipulation.

I just finished The Boy Within the Walls and wow—what a ride. It’s a quick read, but it definitely leaves an impression. Ebony Paige has a way of pulling you into the story from the very first page. The pacing is tight, the writing is clean, and there’s this eerie tension that builds beautifully throughout.
Even though it’s a quick read, the book doesn’t feel lacking. The characters are compelling, and the atmosphere is so well done—it’s creepy in the best way. I found myself genuinely invested in the mystery and emotionally connected to the boy’s story.
If you’re looking for something you can finish in a day but still think about afterward, I’d definitely recommend this one. It’s haunting, heartfelt, and totally worth the read.

So good! Absolutely didn't see where this was going and I like that. The set up was a little vague, but I strongly believe that was to keep the mystery/suspense going throughout. I like that Paige keeps Liv's character consistent and easy to relate to. I really enjoyed the tension built between Liv & Eric - definitely a clean slow-burn! AND can't forget the dose of optimism Fi brings to the overall story. It doesn't start slow, but maintains a good steady pace - however the last few chapters happen rather abruptly to give that twist you don't see coming!! This does not end on a cliffhanger and is wrapped up neatly with a cute "end", but it does leave much to be desired! I want more!!! I still have questions!! I cannot wait to read book two and am excited to see where this goes!

Definitely interesting concept and overall a good storyline.

I just find it too fast paced without enough character building.
