The Spiritual Journey: A part no one talks about is a book by Allyson Roberts who is an experienced life coach, trauma expert and international speaker with cognitive behavioral background. She began this amazing book by solidifying the fact that she understands trauma because she has experienced it, its internal questions and tortures, unending therapists communications, the process of seeking for emotional validation, support, self validation, her moments of recognition and the healing process of trauma.

“How do you know what to heal? because you can’t heal what you don’t acknowledge”.

In a path to seek self validation, she realized that her decision to join religious Catholicism in an unconscious attempt to escape trauma and perhaps a conscious step to find a normalcy in life was a dangerous choice because she realized she neglected balance. She became someone who replaced the attention she should have given herself with an obsession for church.

"The Spiritual Journey No One Talks About," offers a refreshing and introspective take on trauma, a series of experiences and its profound impact on individuals. Through ten captivating chapters, the author artfully weaves a narrative that explores the protagonist's quest for normalcy and healing after enduring traumatic experiences. Each chapter in this book relates to the previous chapter, each has a story, a question section, a reflection and an admonishment from the author.

The strength of this book lies in its ability to shed light on the often-overlooked intersections of trauma, spirituality, and self-discovery. By examining the protagonist's experiences in Sedona, the reader is taken on a poignant journey symbolizing the search for solace and healing in a natural environment where she feels comfortable enough to bare her pain to her listeners. This exploration highlights the power of nature in facilitating emotional healing and grounding oneself during times of distress.

One of the book's standout chapters, "Falsehood," tackles the protagonist's misguided reliance on the narcissistic approach of her mother and the religious fanatic advice of her boyfriend’s father to abort her baby before a wedding would be accepted. As a means to escape rejection she accepted to do it but later on made a secret decision to keep the child which changed the course of her life. This thought-provoking exploration challenges societal expectations and sheds light on the dangers of adopting toxic ideologies in the quest for healing. By doing so, it encourages readers to question dogmas and find authentic paths to recovery.

Throughout the book, Allyson Roberts masterfully incorporates themes of self-validation and emotional healing. Chapters like "Sweet Tea" and "Loving Arms" emphasize the importance of self-care and supportive relationships in the healing process. By exploring the protagonist's journey towards self-acceptance even after she decided to give up her child for placement, the book offers invaluable insights into the power of self-trust amidst fears and self-compassion as essential components of trauma recovery.

Additionally, the book seamlessly incorporates concepts of life coaching and behavioral cognition, providing readers with practical strategies for navigating decision-making processes, reclaiming agency, and breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma. The inclusion of these aspects not only enriches the narrative but also offers readers valuable tools for their own personal growth and healing.

"The Spiritual Journey No One Talks About" is a beautifully written and deeply insightful book that explores the intricate nuances of trauma, spirituality, and self-validation. Allyson Roberts ability to tackle these challenging topics with empathy, wisdom, and authenticity is commendable. This book is a valuable resource for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of trauma's impact and a compassionate guide on the path to genuine healing and self-discovery.

I read ‘The Spiritual Journey’ on a reading spree sitting in my favourite cafe today all day long without feeling the need to put it down even for a minute. The words come straight from the heart directly reaching to another heart. So, I will call it a heart-to-heart conversation. I am in tears while I am writing this.

Allyson’s life journey is going to deeply touch your heart the way it did mine. I could completely relate with a few parts of her story. I know how challenging and painful it is to deal with narcissism in the family, yet how strong we can emerge from it if we make it a spiritual process.

She portrays her intense pain the way it feels the most - intensely.

As a passionate reader, I have read hundreds of books until this moment, and I know that it’s a very bold statement, but nothing has touched me with such profound intensity in a long time.

What she has lived through is something that most people definitely can’t even imagine, but as they say that every pain is a spiritual process and comes into our life to move us closer to our spiritual awakening.

I feel so proud to have known Allyson Roberts for the beauty of her soul. Her deep pain and conquering it with 100% honesty and faith has made her into what she is today - A powerful person who has healed her life, and now spreading her healing magic in this world.

Not everyone can show the courage to tell their painful tale with so much vulnerability. By honestly sharing her story, Allyson is giving inspiration to thousands and thousands of women to open up, be vulnerable, and own their story.

I would highly highly and highly recommend this book to everyone, especially women. I wish I could give it 100 stars!!!

I enjoyed Allyson Roberts’ 118-page book about how her life circumstances shaped her into a strong survivor. I found it encouraging and honest. She writes in a conversational style and I love how she gets straight to the point in an insightful way. She didn’t get stuck in the negative situations life threw her into. She is a sensible and courageous person. She grew up with a cruel, narcissistic mother. She meets a guy and becomes pregnant at 19, whilst still at college. Her happiness is shattered when the guy’s domineering father wants her to have an abortion and her fiancée is not able to stand up to his father. She found some strength and guidance in spirituality and she decides not to go through with the abortion. Having nowhere to live, she ends up living in her car for a few weeks, before getting help and accommodation. She has the child and gives him up for adoption. Read the book to find out more about her journey. She tells us that many people are not willing to repair their internal wounds and process their pain. Allyson eventually became a life coach. I liked the helpful, focused questions she asks the reader at the end of each chapter. With this book, Allyson is hoping to help us move past our pain and emerge stronger. I found the book sad, but ultimately triumphant.

I am definitely moved with how the author narrated Allyson’s story in a way that the readers could easily relate to and also feel the emotions Allyson have felt during the most difficult and heartbreaking moments in her life. I love the pacing of the story as well as the vivid descriptions used by the author not to mention the different journal prompts on the end of each chapter that made me continue to be curious about Allyson’s story.

What sets this book apart is Roberts' willingness to address the realities and struggles that can arise during spiritual growth. Drawing from her own experiences and insights, she fearlessly tackles topics such as doubt, confusion, loneliness, and the shadow aspects of the self.

One of the book's strengths is its practicality. The author doesn't simply dwell on the difficulties; she offers guidance and suggestions for navigating through them. She shares exercises, meditations, and reflections that readers can apply in their own lives to overcome obstacles and deepen their spiritual practice.

All in all, it is a refreshing and honest exploration of the less-discussed aspects of the spiritual path. It is a reminder that growth and transformation can be messy and challenging, but ultimately lead to profound self-discovery and spiritual evolution.

Allyson Roberts' book The Spiritual Journey: The Part No One Talks About is a captivating and uplifting book that offers a fresh viewpoint on the spiritual journey. Roberts, who has endured numerous hardships throughout her life, discusses her personal narrative of overcoming trauma, abuse, and abandonment in order to discover her true purpose.

I love her bluntness and vulnerability in revealing her personal story that might be hard for anybody who experienced the same. As a result, her book is both relatable and encouraging to the readers. I also like Roberts' emphasis on practical tools and procedures. She includes visualization, affirmation, and meditation activities, as well as options for finding a spiritual community. This makes the book a valuable resource for anyone who is on a spiritual journey. And lastly, Roberts emphasizes the value of self-compassion and forgiveness, she writes on the importance of embracing and loving yourself even when you make mistakes.

One of the parts of Roberts' book that makes it so captivating is her willingness to discuss the "dark night of the soul" that many individuals go through on their spiritual journeys. She discusses the agony, confusion, and despair that can accompany this stage of this path, but she also offers hope and guidance. She demonstrates how to emerge from the darkness and be more connected to your true self.

The book The Spiritual Journey, The Part No One Talks About by Allyson Roberts was a very thought-provoking read. Allyson gets straight to the point by talking about the abuse, teen pregnancy and many, many other challenges she endures. Reflecting back on her story, I'm not sure I would have had her faith, love and belief that things would work out. She managed to overcome and become stronger and braver with each challenge she endured and she met many individuals along the way that helped her move forward. She never gave into the victim-mode and through all of her sacrifices has made her way in this world. I love that she turned her experiences into a way to help others overcome and triumph as a life coach and trauma expert. I highly recommend this book to anyone lacking self-confidence or that feels they can't move beyond their current circumstances. Allyson moved beyond and by telling her story, proves to the world that we can all overcome and prosper no matter what life throws at us.

Thanks to Allyson for giving us encouragement to take responsibility for our own decisions. She quoted, "Being able to visualize what you want is one of the first steps to getting back in touch with the core of you." Visualization can indeed be a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth. By visualizing what you want, you can gain clarity about your desires, goals, and aspirations. It can also help you connect with your inner self and identify what truly matters to you. Acknowledgment is an essential step in the healing process. It involves recognizing and accepting the truth of your situation, emotions, or experiences. By acknowledging and being honest with yourself about what you're going through, you open the door to healing and transformation.
