Kay Wyley is hard at work as the new Governor of New York. Her new position has finally given her the status she needed to attack the child trafficking ring that is going on in her very state, the one she was rescued from almost thirty years before. Not so far away, a young girl named Lilah finds herself in the foster care system, lonely and neglected. One day, a chat message pops up on her computer. Unable to deny the pull of a potential friend, she begins a conversation and finally gets the attention she has been craving. If only she knew the fate that would come with the simple message to the person she hoped would become a friend. Will Kay Wyley be able to reach Lilah before it's too late? Or will Lilah's life be stolen underground to the Residence as it continues to widen its walls on the innocent?
Samara does it again in this book. It is a continuation of the Imaginarium, but could be read separately. I think about what I read in this book and think this stuff could really happen in real life. I really hope it doesn't, but we know children are trafficked daily. The wretchedness brought out in this store is a true eye opener. Samara writes it so beautifully. I was waiting ever so impatiently for this second book and now I think there might be a third. It is well worth the read.
This 2nd book was much more engaging from start to end than Imaginarium. It stayed on topic better and there were less grammatical errors. It was tough to put down. I looked forward to justice being served. Given it wasn’t fully resolved by the end, I wonder if a 3rd is in the works.

Loved the second book in this series! Human trafficking is a tough subject, but Samara writes about the horror of it with grace as much as she can. I was wondering if there is a third one coming out?
