This novel was such a page-turner. I haven't read a book about faes in ages and this one was perfect. Violet is schizophrenic and thinks that she's going crazy, but she's really not. Ansel is a fae seelie looking for the Seelie Queen. They meet at a bar where he pays with leaves and nobody else notices except Violet.
This book had such great world building. It sucked me in from start to finish. The characters were really fleshed out and the storyline was intriguing! There is a cliffhanger though. I enjoyed it, four stars!

I was about to DNF this book more than once.
The only reason I struggled through it was because it's written by Espinosa.
Unfortunately, this was a far cry from Mackenzie Grey.

Was o.k.
The actual story is fun but the execution needs work. I found the writing choppy and really predictable. The characters are very one dimensional and it was hard to care about the main character Violet. It's just not for me but as always, try for yourself, you may love it.

Seeing the world through Violet’s eyes may make you feel like your crazy, but there is more to our world that mortals may never know or see. It sucks to see things others can’t, to be diagnosed as a schizophrenic all your life. Makes holding a job tough. Be that as it may, when some Adonis, at the bar where she worked, tried to pay with leaves, Violet had had enough. She called him out, crumbling the leaves in front of him. Others, including her boss, around her didn’t see what she saw, they only saw a couple hundred-dollar bills destroyed by her. Once again there went her job. And now the Adonis creep had followed her home.
Ansel was on a mission for the Seelie Queen and while interrupting his mission for the her wasn’t a smart move on his part; he had gotten sidetracked after his run in with the young woman at the bar where he was meeting an informant. There was something about this girl that was off. How had she seen though the glamor that masked him and the leaves? He soon found he wasn’t the only one interested in learning more about who or what she was, and some of the others simply wanted her dead. When he saw the iron ankle bracelet she always wore, he was quick to seek answers that would change not only Violet’s world but could bring real danger to the realm of the Fae as well.
More trouble comes when his brother Alec, turns up. Alec who chose to side with the Unseelie King despite his family’s allegiance to the Seelie Queen. It turns out that Alec and Ansel were looking for the same thing, a powerfully dangerous artifact. Legend has it that the orb holds sway over all four powerful elements (earth, wind, fire and water) part of the magic of the Fae. In ancient times, it was believed to be too powerful for any one Fae to control all the elements. So, it had been entrusted to a small group of humans to carry it within them, passing it on from one generation to the next at birth. While a league of humans were to protect the secret of the current generation’s carrier or killing the carrier if need be to stop the Fae from getting their hands on the orb.
Built around the legend of the orb and the hunt for it by both the Seelie and the Unseelie, with a group of humans who will stop at nothing to keep it from the Fae, including murder. Violet is at the center, at twenty-five she still lives with her mother, who was feeding her pills for her “hallucinations” and regular visits to a shrink all along keeping dangerous secrets from her. Each of the characters have flaws, that enrich the story keeping you guessing how they will handle situations that come up. As Ansel and Violet draw close, Violet will have to make some tough choices the protect the two people in her life who are most important to her, while withholding the complete truth from them. There are cultural differences as well between Violet and Ansel they will have to come to terms with. One is their view on human life forms. As a Fae being, for Ansel, human life holds very little value and may be easily disposed of.
This is the first book in the series with Violet learning secrets long kept from her, a danger filled world where making the right decision could lead to even worst turmoil for everyone. So, hang on to your seat the ride has just begun.
If you are a fan of Karina Espinosa, you might find a few changes way she tells this beginning tale. For me these changes enrich the telling through dialogue, that at times is snarky, charged with under currents and thoughtful, descriptions of sets that quickly place me at the scene, and interaction between characters feels closer. I am even enjoying one of the main antiheroes. I loved the fact that Karina doesn’t let the reader get comfortable before snatching the rug out from under my feet, dangling more trials and tribulations in front of Violet and Ansel along with a heathy dig from Alec. While the steam between Ansel and Violet has just started heating up, which can be a catalyst for misunderstandings with the best intentions at its core. Definitely a series to pick up and share, since one book will lead into the next. Along with storylines that leave a lot of room for What if? What will happen next? and Who do I really want to strangle?

This is a really good book, with a new take on Fae powers, which is done very well. The story is exciting and adventurous, and the characters are realistic and believable. This is a slow burn story, with a sort of love triangle. Violet may be ignorant about the world around her but she is not really a damsel because she is more than willing to fight, but how do you fight magic when you don’t have your own?
This book is a lot of fun to read, and if you are into Fae stories with secrets and fighting, and grand (and small) adventures, you‘ll enjoy this one.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

This is the first book in a new fae trilogy and so far I'm interested to see where it's going to go especially with the brothers, one seelie and the other unseelie yet I feel like I don't trust the seelie brother more 🤔 I'll be diving straight into book two to see what happens next.
Violet has never been able to hold a job for long with her condition, diagnosed at a young age with schizophrenia because she saw things no one else could. But when a man trys to pay his bill at the club she works at she doesn't see money she sees leaves and calls him out on it but everyone else sees money and once again she's left jobless and realizing her medication is once again not working. But when the stranger from the bar turns up at her house her whole world is flipped upside down because the things she's been seeing are in fact real, they're fae and somehow Violet can see through their glamours and Ansel the fae who tried to pay his bill with leaves is a seelie high fae apparently one of the good guys. He's in our world trying to locate an Orb that contains all the fae elements and was once entrusted to an order of humans for protection but has been missing for years but the problem is Ansel has an Unseelie brother named Alec and he's on the same mission to locate the orb. An Orb which could be right under their nose with the last person they suspect. Violet doesn't know who to trust with the family history her mother shared after she found out she's not actually mentally unwell because turns out if anyone knew what Violet was she'd be killed on the spot. So who do you trust when your life is on the line.

This book was amazing, I could not stop reading. This is such a unique fae series. The push/pull between Ansel and Violet will have you seeing if they do or don't. Then add in the other characters that appear like his brother Alec. There dynamic adds so many more layers to this story. This author will pull you into this story from the first chapter. I highly recommend reading this and can't wait for the next book.

This book was AWESOME!!! This is the 1st book in the Fated Fae Elementals series and its captivating!!
Violet believed her whole life that the strange things she's seen since childhood were because she was schizophrenic. But one night while working, a guy tries to pay his bill with leaves!! Except she is the only one who can see that it's leaves. everyone else sees money... and of course she gets fired for ripping it up. This guy, Ansel, tracks her down and tells her what he is and that she's either been touched by the Fae or is a halfling.
This starts going down a tricky path of secrets that's been kept from her. Not only is she a halfling, but she always holds a power that the Unseelie have been looking for and will kill her for it.
The ending is kinda shocking... I'm not exactly sure what the think of Alec, Ansels brother, and what he's really up to. Can't wait to find out in the next book!!

This is the first book I've read from this author, and it won't be my last. I enjoyed every page of this story. The characters were enjoyable, the flow of the story was great along with the action, and the story had funny and steamy moments. Violet has lived her life thinking that she's crazy, but it couldn't be further from the truth. The one person she loves has been lying to her, her entire life. With the truth comes threatening and deadly consequences. Alec and Ansel are brothers and their fae. They couldn't be any different from each other in their feelings about Violet. She has something both of them have been looking for but how far is each brother willing to go to get what they want and need. This story ends with a major cliffhanger and I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. This is just the first book in the series, but it's a story I will be recommending to my paranormal romance loving family, friends and co-workers.

This sets into motion a high octane read of intrigue, action, adventure and romance as it becomes a great first book in what looks to be a very good series.
With this great start and excellent writing an engaging and multi-faceted storyline unfolds with characters who keep the intensity flowing at a nice pace. What is the secret to Violet that has the Unseelie now out to capture her? The book ends on a cliffhanger leaving the reader to wait in anticipation of what is to come next, and I hope it won’t be a long one!

This was a great introductory book for a new series centered on the Fae. It offered a fresh take on the Fae and the depth of depravity that both houses often go to. The world building for the Fae on earth was very good as was the description of the main characters of the story. Although, the fact that the book ends on a huge cliffhanger will keep interested readers begging for the next installment!! There was a lot of action with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader invested in finishing not only the book, but any potential sequels as well. Add a little bit of steam, and the writer has produced a great introductory book for this new series.

Violet thinks she is schizophrenic and takes meds to keep from seeing things that others don't. That is until she meets Ansel. What follows is a lot of danger for Vi when she ends up meeting Ansel's older brother Alec, learning the truth of who she is and that she isn't crazy. Can Ansel keep her safe?
Right from the start this book pulls you in and does not let go. This book takes you for a ride and does not disappoint in any way. Having Vi and Ansel meet by chance is interesting, but throwing Alec into the mix makes it dangerously intriguing. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book. Karina Espinosa definitely knows how to keep her readers entertained!.

Katrina is an extraordinary writer who takes her readers to places we know and then into new realms which we did not know in a seamless fashion. I read Hint of Delirium in just a few short hours and can hardly wait for the next book. Once again she gave her fans a cliffhanger that is sure to have us all on pins and needles waiting for it to be delivered. Her character development of the 3 main character is fantastic and you really feel for Violet as she finds her world is not what she was ever told it was. instead it is a beautiful and frightening as she herself has seen. This includes both Ansel and Alex, who are as other worldy handsome as all Fea, but with powers that are just as powerful. I highly recommend this new series as it is as wonderful as her previous ones..

Ansel, a Seelie High Fae, is a customer at The Black Keys Bar & Bistro where she works as a waitress. She accosts the man when he tries to pay for his meal with actual leaves that everyone else thinks is money. She destroys the “leaves” to the horror of her boss and others and ends up getting fired. When the customer validates her ability to see the creatures no one else does, they partner together and what they find puts both of them in danger. Will they survive? Or will the evil Unseelie capture her for their own use?

I was hooked early on with Violet’s mental health issues. She thinks she’s going crazy, and seeing what she see’s, you would think the same. I love how the title connected to the book. There were several reveals in this story that gave me a wide array of emotions. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’ll leave it like that.
I loved how the Seelie and Unseelie court come into play in this story. Ansel and Alec are both brothers on opposite sides of the fae court and it was interesting to see how they worked out their challenges. There’s a clear battle between good vs. bad, and Violet gets thrown in the midst of the chaos.
I loved listening to the audiobook. It hooked me in from the beginning with the leaves payment. The narrators Maeve York, and Christian Leatherman did a wonderful job portraying Violet, Ansel, and Alec. The tones and inflections were spot on and the narrators truly breathed life into their characters. A must listen.
Will Violet trust either side to keep her safe, or will she go with her gut instincts?

Already adore Violet, and seelie brothers Ansel & Alec. The 'good' seelie being Ansel, serving the Seelie Queen......Alec the 'bad' unseelie brother serving the Unseelie King.
Love the world building & thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, definitely had me groaning at the cliff hanger ending though! Certainly eagerly awaiting more!!! So much potential as to what could happen, & we haven't heard the 'love story' that occurred between Vi's mum & dad yet. Who is Seelie & Unseelie, Who is light/good & who is dark/bad? Love the world building & thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, definitely had me groaning at the cliff hanger ending though! Certainly eagerly awaiting more!!! So much potential as to what could happen, & we haven't heard the 'love story' that occurred between Vi's mum & dad yet. Who is Seelie & Unseelie, Who is light/good & who is dark/bad? As a reader, when an author I really like starts a new series, I always worry I won’t like the new series. Such is the case with this new series. I both want and don’t want to start it. I went ahead, and I am so glad I did. Violet, Ansel, and Alec are great characters, and I love their interactions. TBH, I’m not sure how I feel about them because the author keeps changing my perspective on them. What I do know for sure, though, is that I found this book well-written, engaging, and left me wanting more in this series. The end was a surprise, and I can’t wait to read the next one. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I absolutely enjoyed this book ! I love a good fantasy book and especially ones about the fae that keep you wondering !! Violet is a fantastic main character whose character growth is already happening. She has always thought she was crazy because of what she could see and others couldn’t , until a hunk of a fae comes into her life and makes her see other wise. Her life has just changed in so many ways!
I was hooked from the beginning. I’ve got to say I loved Ansel from the start but there is something about Alec …. This book has me wanting more ! I can’t wait for the next book 😊.

A cute Latina human with schizophrenia finds out that everything she’s been seeing is real, and that she’s not exactly what she thinks she is either. Two hot and morally gray fae brothers, one Seelie and one Unseelie, butt heads over whether and how to keep her safe from the numerous dangers that inevitably present themselves when she starts to get close to one of them. It’s a series starter, but I liked the pacing and the ending… it felt like a good spot to leave off for book 2, and like less of a cheap cliffhanger than some other series starts I’ve read. I wishlisted book 2 for later, so maybe I’ll come back to this one.

I Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVED it!
I really love this new series from Karina Espinosa! I first started reading her Mackenzie Grey and have to say I fell in love with the way this author writes! When I heard she was writing a Fae series I got excited and couldn't wait to get this book into my hands and she really delivered a Freaking Fantastic Book! I really can't wait to read the next book in this series! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves Fae books!

Excellent world building. Really refreshing to read about a heroine with mental health illness and how she views the world. The author has attempted this relent well. Violet is a great FMC, she loses her job after she recognises glamor used by a fae to pay at her bar. She loses her job and from then on starts a series of events which sets her off an Adventure of discovery, secrets and mysteries. The banter is witty and kept engrossed till the end. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

This is a Fae story, also about two Fae brothers as well. We have Violet, Ansel and Alec, just when I think I know where the story is headed, take a sharp turn! It is a great story that I enjoyed from beginning to end, even tough I am waiting at this Cliff for what happens next. I Absolutely Loved It!!! I Want More! No Spoilers!.

Loved this book. Great start to a series. Awesome protagonist, and like I said, super duper hot antihero. Im positively shaking knowing I’m going to see so much more of him in the next book. I found myself devouring the storyline and immediately had to do a reread at a slower pace knowing I had definitely missed details out of sheer anticipation for whatever came next. My best advice with this one is to slow down, the small details are definitely worth it!

For years Violet has been told by those around her (and professionals), that she is crazy, but is that really the case. Her life changes, when she crosses paths with Ansel, maybe she is just seeing what is masked from most humans. I loved this gripping story, Violet has just the right amount of sass and determination, and I loved how everything played out. Bring on the next book.

This book gives you the action in a fae series. It gives you romance, action, suspense, and the supernatural in this book. This is the first book in the series and it does end in a cliffhanger that makes your heart beat quickly and fast to want to find out what happens next. But it does give you peace of mind to wait to find out what will happen next!.

great storyline
Poor violet is convinced she has schizophrenia. Taking meds and seeing a therapist hasn’t helped. No matter what she does she still sees the creatures and when one of them tries to dash and dine she ends up getting fired. This starting the tumble of events that continuously puts Violet in danger. The storyline is pretty fast paced and interesting. Definitely a great first book, and I’m excited to continue reading the next in the series.

I loved the plot and characters and the pacing was wonderful. I read a fair amount of paranormal literature and found this one fresh and unique. This author has a great command of many genres. I hope there will be a second book to follow. Read it and have fun.

This was a wonderfully done fantasy novel, it was a great beginning to the Fated Fae Elementals series. The characters were wonderfully done and I enjoyed getting to know them. I can't wait to read more from the author and from this series.

I throughly enjoyed A Hint of Delirium. The concept was something a little different and the characters are enjoyable to read.
The story itself was fast paced and I found myself finished with it but needing more, especially with that ending! I'm very excited to see where this story goes, definitely worth the read!
