A psychological thriller with jaw-dropping twists and turns, and characters whose antics will leave you speechless… A story about love gone right, then wrong.
Zakari has known Nicole was the one since high school. He prays about whether their relationship is meant to be and receives confirmation one night during a church service. Zakari and Nicole are getting married!
Until she breaks up with him the next day.
Zakari plunges into a pit of despair, then Nicole reaches out and tells him they can be friends, maybe rekindle their relationship after college? Elated, Zakari agrees and bides his time until he and Nicole can be together again.
But Nicole gets engaged to another man, and Zakari doesn't understand.
He and Nicole are meant to be - she just needs to see it.
And her fiancé needs to be eliminated.
Every Voice Ain’t From God is a twisted and page-turning tale about a man who will stop at nothing to have his woman’s heart. Including murder.
*4.5* I had a lot of (disturbing) fun reading this one! I will be seeking out this author's books when I need something quick and entertaining - particularly the Christian ones.
Zakari and Nicole were high school sweethearts, but with college mere months away Nicole needed to experience life. Zakari however knew without a doubt that Nicole would be his wife for he'd prayed and it had been prophesied!
Zakari was delusional and unhinged. College, grad school, and an engagement had come for Nicole, but when her life begins to unravel for no apparent reason and Zakari suspiciously shows up when she needs a "shoulder to cry on" is too convenient.
This was one that wasn't just "unputdownable," but I had to see where it would go, and how it ended. It was like watching an episode of true crime show on ID. Solid 3.25⭐
I would not call this a thriller but it was a decent read with loads of drama.
Nicole was clueless and very quick to pass judgement even when she felt things were off. I wanted to slap her around a bit. Luckily she had people in her life that refused to allow her naïveté get in her way.
Zakari was a special kind of touched and his parents should’ve gotten him help in high school.
Shareese was a good friend in spite of Nicole being all over the place. And I’m glad she got some happiness in her own relationship.
Nicole’s mom should have been honest with her daughter about her and the dads divorce maybe she would have even able to discern things were wrong and how to navigate them.
What a ride, from beginning to end. Nichole and Zachary will stay with me for a long time. Zachary was persistent in his love for Nichole, and totally oblivious to signs of disinterest. The things he did to get and keep her, shocked me, and kept me turning the page to see what would happen next. All the characters were well ridden, and I felt as if I was in the story watching everything unfold.
I never leave a bad review but this didn't work for me. Impossible setups and weird relationships beyond belief. I takes very little for these people to lose their trust in those they love. God is just a mockery that's thrown in the mix. Oh, there is a villain that kind of grows in the story.
Tanisha has done an exceptional job with this Christian Based Thriller. At first, it was difficult to predict how the story would unfold, but as the plot progressed, it became clear that it was going to be an amazing read. The protagonist, Nicole, knew deep down that Zacari wasn't the one for her. Tanisha's storytelling skills are exceptional; she crafted the story in a way that kept me glued to the book. The characters were well-defined, and there was no confusion about who was who in the story. The book also demonstrated how some people would blindly follow the word of an individual. The plot of the book was straightforward, and there were no unexpected twists, making it an engaging and smooth read.
I really enjoyed this book—it was full of nonstop plot twists that kept me turning the pages! What I liked most was how real and raw the story felt. It showed how easily people can mistake emotions or obsession for “confirmation from God,” and how dangerous it can be when you ignore His true voice.
What I learned from this book is how important it is to have spiritual discernment and a solid relationship with God before making big decisions, especially about love and relationships. Just because something feels right doesn’t mean it’s from God. This story was a reminder that not every voice, sign, or person is sent by Him—and that true peace only comes from obeying God’s will.
I don’t remember the last time I rated a book with 1 star…or even if I ever have. Regardless, let’s just say I only finished it to increase my reading goal and to see how the obvious turn of events and ending I already had figured out, would go…I won’t spend much time writing a long paragraph or two like I usually do about what I didn’t like and how this could’ve been better…but I’ll say that it had potential, but it didn’t live up to it from the unrealistic dialogue, to the overall character behaviors…it just could’ve been done so much better to highlight the title rather than a “hit the nail on the head” moment to point out to the reader that they were supposed to connect the dots from what was happening to the title.
Zakari is in love with Nicole and wants her to be his wife. He has given his life to Christ and believes Nicole to be his wife it was prophesied to him that they would be married. Nicole broke up with him the next day and wanted to be friends until she finished college. But she met a man and became engaged to him which upset Zakari. Nicole was his. He had to remove that man from Nicole’s life and she’s to marry him. Does things get changed or stay the course?
My God. This book took off like a rocket! It did not get slow in any way shape or form. The author did not let up off the gas! I had to hold on for the ride. Really good short read. Go get it!
Whew, this was another whirlwind from Ms. Stewart! So far, I’ve read three books by her, and let me just say—after reading her stories, you’ll want to reevaluate every relationship in your life, both romantic and platonic!
One thing I’ve noticed across her books is that the female main characters tend to be a bit naïve and immature. Like, one solid adult decision could’ve completely changed the entire story 😩—but then again, the mess and drama are what make her books so entertaining. And when you live a peaceful, drama-free life, it’s nice to read about it every now and then 🤭.
This book follows Zakaria, a complete psycho, and his high-school sweetheart Nicole. It explores the dangerous lengths some people will go to for the person they think God sent them—which ties perfectly into the title Every Voice Ain’t from God.
All in all, it was a good, fast-paced read that kept me turning pages. I’d definitely recommend it for a cozy fall night with a cup of tea or cocoa.
⚠️ Content Warnings: drugging, violence, manipulation, and hostage situations.
I was excited to read this novel because someone from my bookclub enjoyed it. She recommended the book to the rest of the group. I could not find the title at first, but did a month later.
Strengths: there were no grammatical errors or dragging throughout this book, which was good. It was a pretty fast-paced book... a fairly easy read, which I also enjoyed. The writing wasn't very descriptive, but did the book justice with making it easy to get through. I also liked how it was connected to religion as I am a Christian myself. I think it is good when books mention God into the mix. Even though in this novel, Zakari had God confused with the devil's work he was creating. The author provided a good plot.
Setbacks: this novel was not a thriller as described. Zakari did not kill anyone. He just was obsessed with Nicole. This book did not grab me. I wasn't shocked at what happened or thrown off. It seemed to be going okay until they started throwing so different point of views into the mix towards the middle of the novel. I liked that there was a mystery to it, but it definitely could not be titled as a thriller. There was no real romance in this novel either. It seemed like Nicole had problems with Jerron and Zakari. We soon find out that Zakari was crazy, but I was not rooting for Jerron either.

Nicole was really an airhead. Not wanting to let Salaries know she was too young to be in a relationship at 17. She didn't realize how suffocating he was!? Then when they renewed their friendship, she should've been more discerning over certain things he said to her regarding her nickname, kind of coffee she drinks, and how many times he just "ran into her". His best friend knew he was off his rocker but never really pushed for answers. Thank goodness things ended the way they did but I would sue his ass for all he did!
That was a fast read at least. Otherwise, characters lacked development, and the plot was nonsensical. The layout was kind of poor too. I don't really see why it's a called a Christian thriller - while I understand that one needs to put this kind of "trigger" in order not to offend the ultra snowflake woke mob (they can go unhinged at the slight mention of Church), the book itself seemed to make evil prevail just fine. I don't find it particularly hopeful enough or faith driven enough to call it "Christian". Disappointed.
This book, once you start you will not put it down. I knew it was going to be drama, but I didn’t expect all that happened. Whew. All I’ll say is … be prepare for this ride.
I personally didn’t like this book. Although the plot had potential, the book was unfortunately quite poorly executed.
The plot was very jagged and didn’t seem to be seamless at all. I felt as though we were constantly jumping to the next part of the story and nothing seemed sensical or realistic in the slightest. The characters had no development and the things we would learn about what they were thinking were very shallow and one-dimensional. Jerron was insane (also only 25 years only and able to afford an 8 bed mansion on 3 acres of land?? yea right!! again, non-sensical) and Nicole was naive and delusional, I couldn’t really tell you much more than that about them.
I found the constant 5 page chapters and overwhelming series of short sentences quite jarring to be honest but I guess that’s indicative of about how deep the story goes. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the various, ever-increasing different point of views. I only forced myself to see what would happen in all honesty.
A niche I was very excited was targeted, but was left disappointed. The plot needed a lot more fleshing out with substantive writing. A quick read if you don’t have anything else.
We follow Nicole and Zakari love story , they have been together during high school and are now ready to go off to college, but Nicole wants to be a free agent whilst she embarks on this new education journey . Zakari on the other hand has received a prophecy from his pastor weeks before he leaves for college that Nicole will be his wife, he takes this prophecy very serious. He believes that Nicole will be his no matter what happens in college, he keeps tabs on her during her college journey , 7 years after school, he realises that Nicole is getting a little too serious with this guy jerron who she met at college, she has even proceeded to change her status on social media to engaged. This triggers Zakari into operations get my wife , and he will stop at nothing to get Nicole to agree to marrying him.
Just know that Zakari’s crazy is a combination of Joe from you and Andrew from dear Vicky Octavia grants book An enjoyable read
This book was a good read with lots of drama and suspicion. Two young people fell in love in high school, they parted way to go to college and never wanted the long distance relationships. That's Nicole and Zakari. Nicole find new love in college after 7 yrs they got engaged but after Nicole waited a year and no date set for the wedding the plots started. Jerron was meeting with old girl friends, picture send to Nicole with baby resemble Her fiance . When Nicole end her relationship her fiance . Unfortunately Zakari turn up out of nowhere in the same city as Nicole. He started to charm her. Then comes engagement, lost of job, friends and the list goes on. Was a good Christian thriller romance because of 1 fake prophecy. To enjoy this book you have to read it.
From beginning to end, I was hooked to know what’s next. I love the concept Tanisha used on how we can be so blindsided by what we want, we convince ourselves that it’s what God wants for us.
Zakari is so obsessed with Nicole, since high school into adulthood, that he truly convinced himself that she was going to be his wife because a prophet told him that she was, randomly at church one day. He clung to this idea that it made him go off the rails to get her at every means possible.
At first I thought he was using AI to deceive Nicole but what he did was even more annoying because it’s so wasteful using that resource for that reason. Also, he’s so physco for the other things he did also to get Nicole like omg 😂😂😭😭😭.
I would 10/10 recommend this book. It’s an easy , page turner with a great lesson.
Man oh man, I could not put the book down. I tried but I went right back to reading it til I finished. Zakari is a nut! He is a special kind of obsessive man who has the nerve to pray while doing the things he does. Nicole is confused and jumps to conclusions. Shareese is the ride or die friend that anyone would want to hang with. I won't spoil anything, but you have got to read this book for yourself ! I recommend this to everyone. Thanks Tanisha for an excellent read. By the way the other characters were good.
I wouldn't call this a thriller but the second half was suspenseful. Beware of false prophets. (But I don't think Z actually needed confirmation from one - his heart and mind were already set). And when someone shows you who they are, believe him the first time. Nicole was so desperate to be married that she fell for anything, even ignoring her spidey senses. Not to mention she wasn't in love. She was lucky to have people who loved her because she wasn't that loyal to anyone. Great read and well written.
This book…oh my goodness!! I most definitely think this is categorized as Christian due to the religious elements that the male lead holds, not because of the discussions that are held. This most definitely was such a quick paced book, and had me on my seat. I liked the predictability of it, and the ending left me shook. Overall would have liked a longer explanation of the latter section of the book **trying not to spoil* but yes. So very entertaining! And clean!
The book begins when both MCs are still in high school. I initially contributed the simplistic diction and lack of description to that circumstance. But as the book progressed, fast-forwarding to seven years later, the juvenile speech was still present. The largest word I recall reading is "arduous." During the first half of the book, we were privy to two characters thoughts and I assumed it was a dual-narrator. But in the last few chapters, we had POVs from folk's mamas (literally) that we didn't even know existed. I wanted to see what happened next and the MMC was clearly disturbed! Anyone who went against his dreams became the enemy. The book received a 3 for the language, but also some of the details simply were not plausible to me. I'm not saying a 24 year-old CAN'T earn enough money to build a mansion from the ground up, but I saying that Zakari didn't convince me that HE did! Fast read.
The writing is a bit mid—almost cat in the hat like 😬 BUT the storyline was entertaining. I found myself laughing often and the whole premise of every voice not being God’s was very relatable! It’s like watching a movie on Tubi vs. HBO…you’re entertained either way but one is going to be far better developed than the other. I do plan to read more of her books because I appreciate having found a clean, fiction story with Christian themes and black characters but I wish she developed the characters and story lines into more in depth novels with articulated complexity.
Zakari was too much and beyond over-zealous with his antics but Nicole played a part in them as well. She learned the hard way that you cannot play with someone's genuine affections for you. She allowed Zakari's love and devotion to her to get her through some tough times and wanted to play the friend card when it suited her. Life/love does not work that way. I'm happy everyone got their happy ending. This was a great roller coaster of a read!
