The over arching concept was new, which I enjoyed, however, I felt the the ending was rushed, and that it would have been beneficial to spend more time on the development of the romantic relationship between Sophie and Mitch, given that the story line revolved around her finding "the guy" based on her 11th April theory.

I also found that in some of the dialogue, mostly during character conversations, there is a clear attempt by the author to have characters converse in a way that is relative to their generation, with the use of phrases etc. As a millennial, I can see the author has fallen short on this, by using phrases I associate with my parents generation or older saying in conversation. Outside of this, the descriptive writing is great and makes it easy to visualise the story unfolding.

The main characters themselves have enough differing personality traits that they don't mold into one another and as a collective, they appear to have a fun dynamic that would make them very relatable in real life friendship circles.

As a debut novel, I think the author did well and overall, I did enjoy reading the book.

This book was so much fun! The characters were really relatable and having lived in both Hobart and Sydney myself, I loved the descriptions of each city and the ups and downs of today’s world of dating!! I laughed, I cried, I nodded in agreement and then cringed with familiarity of some of the more awkward situations. All of the main characters are fabulous - I’d love to have a dinner party with them all!! I highly recommend this book for a great holiday read!!

I had such fun reading this book! The concept is so unlike any other book I’ve read! I enjoyed following the stories of the characters, and feel like they would be great friends to have!
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a funny, light hearted read; for anyone who wants to feel transported to Tasmania; or for anyone who just feels like they need a hug from their grandma.
