As young Hank Bryant and his family were traveling home from his grandmother’s in Mississippi, he felt a strong force push him sideways onto his sister’s lap. Waking up in the hospital with many physical injuries, Hank saw a young woman wearing white sitting in the corner smiling at him. He felt at peace with her presence and soon discovered that he was the only person who could see her or hear her voice. She had been the victim of violent death in 1863 and had returned in spirit form to avenge her death. Remaining on earth to help those in trouble, Lizzie became Hank’s guardian angel. Years pass and Lizzie seeks Hank’s help in proving the imprisoned husband of a murdered woman was indeed innocent of the crime. Hank and Lizzie soon become involved in trying to break up a major child trafficking and massive heroin operation involving two corrupt sheriffs and a high-ranking FBI operative. Hank, his wife, and two twin sons find themselves fleeing from the danger of a massive manhunt. The twists and turns of chasing and being chased lead to many surprises, some good and some bad.
