In the romantic comedy ESCORT GIRL, a young woman who works for a PR firm is chaperone, babysitter, and therapist to VIPS who come to Atlanta to promote their movies, music, books, TV shows, politics, and products... and winds up getting pulling into her clients' drama, problems--and crimes!
USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
This is part 1 of 6 part daily serial, part one is July.
Loving the concept of this daily serial, an escort girl but not the sort that you automatically think of when thinking escort. Ester is an escort girl for the talent/celebrities, meaning she has to babysit them, ensure they get to and from events without getting themselves into trouble, that sort of thing.
I enjoyed part 1, getting to know Esther and all the other characters, there is definitely a whole host of interesting characters that’s for sure. I love that Ester has adopted a rescue cat, do love it when pets feature in stories. There’s plenty of drama within these pages and a cliff hanger at the end that leaves you hanging somewhat and needing to start part 2 straight away.
I love that they are short, quick reads, heading straight into part 2 which is the month of August.
What fun the serial Escort Girl is and always a cliff hanger at the end. Although it would not be in keeping with Stephanie's other serial if it didn't keep you wanting more next month! The book starts out with Este looking for new employment after she was let go at her father's company. It was not her fault as her father was let go also, FCC problems. Este, as an only child of a brash CEO and an aging modeling superstar Mom, who are split up at the moment. Unfortunately for Este, who believes she did not get her mom's looks, is very shy. She is hired to be a glorified babysitter with important clients in the entertainment business. She has been assigned a gorgeous driver while she takes care to get the clients to the places they are entertaining. With a few mishaps, a wild cat, and Este enjoying her separated parents one-on-one attention, she is beginning to enjoy her life until something go drastically wrong. Give this serial a try, you won't regret it!
This is the first book in another Stephanie Boyd series, this one centered around a young woman named Ester who has rich parents which are splitting up due to her father cheater on her mother.
It's also noted that she is not pretty.
She has a job being an escort girl which means a guy drives her to pick up a client (singer, book writer, etc.) and they take the person to some kind of event (book signing, concert, etc.), stay with them and then bring them back to either the airport or some other place.
It also means she will get to meet a lot of different people over time. Unfortunately, it also means that things might go wrong including one of the women she escorts ends up missing.
It's a really good start to a rather different type of series and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
Escort Girl is the new serial cozy mystery by Stephanie Bond and it is awesome! Each segment of the serial is a month and Part 1 is July. Ester needs a job and basically becomes a babysitter/assistant for celebrities. She and Reuben, the chauffeur, pick them up and take them to events and return them to their home or hotel and often she buys snacks and other items for them. Ester's parents are in the middle of a very public divorce which causes problems for her. She is trying to be independent and self-sufficient. This serial has humor, potential romance, and a cozy mystery which begins at the end of this segment. I can't wait for the next book!
Right off the bat the character is likable and I had empathy for her. What a creative approach to a job I had not even realized existed. Each outing is an adventure and if course a "killer" of a cliff hanger at the end!! Can't wait for the 2nd one to come out!!
I picked this up on a whim just to mix things up a bit and I've gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. While the author has a tendency to rely on her MC wetting her lips in nearly any scene to show she's feeling tense, the characters are all pretty real to life and the premise is intriguing.
Love Ms. Bond's daily serial books. This one is off to a great start. Dynamic characters and a great story line pull you in. Can't wait to see what happens next!!
I absolutely love these serials each year. And this one is shaping up to be another amazing one. I think I’m going to enjoy read about all the things that Ester gets into.
I always look forward to Bond's serials. This one has already got me hooked. Ester is interesting and who knew there are celebrity escorts. Can't wait to see where this one goes.
Great! Ester is a young lady with a very interesting job as an escort. Between the demands of a new job and her dueling soon-to-be divorced parents, will she find her own path?
This short book has good writing, fun characters, mystery, and a bit of romance. I plan to read more of this series!
Another entertaining mystery series from Stephanie Bond. Looking forward to the next installment with these quirky characters. Enjoyable read, I would recommend it.
What a great start to the best of all this author’s serial stories! Such a fun and fascinating concept with colorful characters that Stephanie Bond creates like few others can.
I liked the author's voice. And the drama scenarios are very inventive. Not too complex plots to follow. And I really got to know and like the protagonist!
Another light, fun, quick read from Stephanie Bond so a checkmark in the WIN column as this is exactly the break I needed from psychological thrillers and family dramas.
It's really hard to wait for a new serial from this author... I love her books! I can always read all 6 segments in one sitting. Perfectly entertaining and captivating!
