This is a great thriller. Sam Wick is a bad ass. And Chase has a great talent for keeping you turning the pages. Lots of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review. Can't wait to read the next story in the series. Happy reading everyone
Explosive OMG!!! It was a page turner and the suspense WOW!!! I was suck right in this story and I could not put it down for a minute. Natasha and Sam was on a secret mission to find a man who made an attack on American. They went to Columbia to prevent this act to happen. This was about loyalty and it had a lot of violence around the world but they had to get to Columbia first to find the mystery man who made this threat. This was and action packed story. Did Natasha and Sam save the world or did they fail their mission? Read to find out! If you love thriller and about to take over the world this book is for you and you will not be disappoint at all. I know that was not disappoint at all I enjoy reading it. This was a good book. This author did a great job of describing the event of what about to happen it was realistic. I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review. Trina Jones
If you want Wick action then this is for you. Wicks world continues in the murkiest fashion. The world of TF77 is also under attack from within and outside. Fortunately his skills are undiminished but allies are few and far between. Violence and loyalty make for strange bedfellows but Wick makes it work. Really enjoyed this and now need to read the follow on. Asap. I received a free ARC I am freely leaving this review.
Fast paced, lots of action and intrigue. The story continues as Wick and company are forced down new and different paths, discovering deeper and darker forces at work. But what will answers cost Wick this time? Will he ever find out who’s really behind this and pulling the strings? Great read. Couldn’t put it down!
Sam is given a mission, finding he sees first hand the destruction of lives. All for power, the drugs is endless. Along with Natasha their very being is at stake. The plot is fast paced and a mission to do and get out, was well done. Given ARC for my voluntary review
It's been almost 2 years since I've read this series, partly because I was waiting for the books that would be a continuation of the previous ones. Unfortunately, the time it took for me to figure out who was who, what was going on, etc.., I was almost half way done with the book. I even stopped to go back and read reviews (mine and others), read the descriptions of the stories, and I still couldn't trigger the memories of the previous books or figure out what was happening in the current one. The one thing that I can definitely say is that this is a series that must be read all together, unless you have an excellent memory or plan to re-read the previous book prior to beginning the new one. It would certainly be a huge help if there were either a catch up page (to give an overview of the previous books and where the current story will begin) or a list of characters, as well as who they are, who they work for, connections, etc.. It's impossible to comprehend what's going on in the newer books without something like these, especially when there's more than a year between each release. The story was like the previous books: it was broken up by different characters, their situations &/or circumstances, and then it promptly goes to a new chapter and begins again with a different character/situation. It's extremely difficult to piece together the story when it's written this way. However, it makes it even harder to figure out when that story is a continuation of the last book written over a year before. Unfortunately, once everything starts coming together, the book is almost over. It's a good series and the stories are intriguing, but I'm certainly not a fan of the layout of the stories/series, or of the cliffhangers. JMO! I would recommend this series, but caution due to the mentioned issues.
I received an eBook copy of this book direct from the author when I joined his Advance Reader Group. I had not read any of his books previously, but saw an online request for readers of the ARC (Advanced Reader Copy). As an ARC it is not the final copy available online, as the author invites the ARC readers to let him know of any issues they find while reading the book.
A good read, quite exciting, and the action scenes are very well written and descriptive enough for you to visualise them easily a bit like a good action movie.
The writing style does seem to change throughout the book but I understand that this is because it was written while the author's father was suffering from a terminal illness, and that there was a gap between writing the first and last parts of the book. (The book is dedicated to the author's father, who passed away in April 2022, so this is understandable.)
I am not personally a great fan of novels which finish on a cliff-hanger, nor ones where you really need some idea of what happened in earlier novels to get the most out of the book. The latter isn’t too intrusive in the case of Wicked Uprising, and the story is “grabby” enough that I really want to go on to read Wicked Rage when it comes out. Without giving any major spoilers, Wicked Uprising might be thought of as a straight action thriller, but Wicked Rage when it comes out might be a revenge saga dealing with the events in this book.
I will be buying the sequel when it becomes available, and searching out the previous books in the series, which is about as good a review that I can personally give.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Wick and Natasha are in Columbia to locate a specific individual. They have become part of a lawyer's group who are fighting a large company in regard to the authorization of a new drug. In addition to that action there is also that same company trying to kick out people living in a specific area where the lawyer is also involved. An incident happens and the lawyer is killed. The police want to associate with another event that happened and not look for anything else as the cause. Wick did not have any thoughts to get involved with it, but he got pulled in as well.
The lawyer's daughter was a part of the law firm that was representing the company. She had been quite involved with one of the cases, but she got a new boss and that person was trying to get her fired. Wick was able to get the daughter to help him in his quest and he said he would help find who killed her father. With a new lawyer taking over for the murdered attorney, the company won their case. Their next step was to move the people from that land that they wanted.
Wick and Natasha then started playing a major role in helping the poor. Learn what steps the company was willing to take, who was involved as part of the company, what actions Wick and his group took to try and defeat this takeover. The ending will supply many answers to what questions you might have. This is a definite read for you as well.
I received an epub of this book for being a member of his ARC team.
The character of Sam Wick is that of a violent badass, who is a member of TF-77 - a joint elite black ops team of the NSA and US military), as he continues his search for the mastermind behind one of the latest attacks on the USA.
This time Wick is facing off against the corporate giant CopaAndina and the tentacles of the multitude of industrial reach (specifically the pharmaceutical arm) and their ties to the criminal underworld in Columbia.
I believe that I have only read a few of the Sam Wick stories (and not necessarily in any particular order) and I think that might be one of the reasons why I have rated this as such (not really knowing the whole story behind TF-77). Another thing that I found difficult when I read this "novella" is the spacing between the paragraphs (the book is listed as 561 pages, but if there were not double or even triple hard returns between each paragraph I might have been able to get into the story further. I feel that if the paragraphs were edited in a more "standard" fashion that the book would be only 280-300 pages.
I am rating this book as maybe 3.5 stars on a scale of 5 stars (which rounds up to a soft 4 stars on Goodreads) because I enjoy the premise behind the story and think that like-minded readers would do the same.
As with all my literary ramblings, this is just my five cents.
I received this as an ARC in exchange for (in this case pretty rapid) review. Found the character development of good quality but some more generic than others...usually not a problem in most action books as lots of ancillary characters don't last long. I think there I a good market for these "agent on the run" type books of various forms..and they make good movies. I watched "Shooter" for the 6th time a couple of days ago, and Gunney Bobby Lee Swagger still entertains...great movie to veg for couple of hours. This is a lengthy read that does slow down in areas but that's almost a have to, to recover and nobody is going to read 300+,pages of heart pounding action (as the old descriptions for this genre used to love to cast around) I recommend it. It may take a few chapters to get into but give it a go...I have a suspicion some day you'll be buying a ticket to watch this on the screen.
Although he is usually quite focused on his primary mission, Wick relents this time to become side-tracked – so it would seem – on helping those in dire need in the slums of Columbia. However, Wick uses everything to his advantage. Once again, he overcomes the odds and is very clever at deceiving others.
The plot is gripping and entertaining – definitely a page turner. The format makes for easy reading and draws you into the mystery and intrigue and all of the action. I’ve read and liked this entire series and have come to expect a continuation aspect to the ending but I felt disappointed by a more obvious cliff-hanger this time. I’ll just have to anticipate the outcome…I received an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Sam and Natasha are in Columbia wherein their new mission is to find the man responsible for attacks on America, a virtual cause célèbre. A large part of their mission is remove the leaders of and destroy CopaAndina, the largest corporation in Columbia.
This is not going to be like any other mission these agents have ever had. Their lives are going to challenged by a diverse set of enemies right up to the very end.
You should get started reading this book right now!
This novel has a large cast of characters and covers several cities/location. The description of the characters and scenes is very detailed. This is a hard to put down page turner. Two scenes I really liked was the Eliminators capture by an old man and Natasha’s escape into the water after fighting against one. . I enjoyed the book and wholeheartedly recommend it. I received a free copy and am writing this honest review voluntarily.
Cleverly written and the best of the series. Wick is a different character from previous novels. He is more morose, devious, and calculating. Also from a technical point of view there are editing errors such as the incorrect use of pronouns and character names. Nonetheless, the story is hard hitting with many conflicted characters which adds intensity and interest. Shame to wait a year for #12.
This is a well written captivating story. Grabbed me from the very beginning and took me on a roller coaster ride with twists and turns. The intrigue builds and builds and explodes at the end. There are many characters and stories within stories. Helps if you’ve read the prior books, but the author does a really good job so it can be read as a standalone. The series and author are getting better and better. Can’t wait for the next Sam Wick adventure.
Sam and Natasha are in the middle of the action. Although they're trying to complete their assignment and keep a low profile neither of them can walk away from the people surrounding them who are being abused and bullied. Their good works don't go unnoticed ......... by the wrong people. I can't wait for the next installment!!! Lots of action, suspense and thrills. I received this ARC and this is my honest review.
The newest addition to the series showcases Wick's multifaceted character as he ventures off his usual path to assist the underprivileged in the slums of Columbia. The storyline is full of thrilling action and deceit, with Wick's sharp wit helping him conquer each obstacle. The narrative is captivating, written in a straightforward manner that easily immerses you in its suspenseful plot. I recommend this author, his books, and this series.
Wow, what an amazing action packed adventure read where Wick and Natasha continue their mission only to find it branches off and get very complicated. So many twists and turns and so many baddies. This is a series which should be read in order, therefore understanding the thread of the story. Can't wait for book 12 Wicked Rage.
Another great action packed book from Mr Austin. Wick is forced to investigate an criminal company which is forcing through new drugs and taking land by bully boy tactics. A great story line that keeps you guessing whilst probing further to each of the characters from the last book. I couldn’t put this down and I can’t wait for the next book. Keep up the good work Chase!!!
Columbia is the setting. Sam is trying to help a lawyer that practices in the slums working for the locals. A big company is trying to flatten the slum. Awkwardly led by another lawyer, the slum lawyer. The father dies and Sam steps in with his own way of correcting things. Great story and action
Was a little slow to start and then started tying all the characters together. Sam Wick is indestructible. Left with a lot of question: did Natasha die? Did Sir get what he deserves? Did Sam find the person of interest that was his mission? All kinds of loose ends that I am sure will be in the next book.
as Sam redirects his energies from pursuing justice for persons related to acts of mass terror, he finds himself tangled in very personal battles against narco funded business - ones that create slums, hunt the inhabitants, make monies of business and drug related activities, and devour people and neighborhoods
devastating and crushing as Sam devolves, yet keeps his wicked deadly edge
Have just finished reading an A R C of this book and would recommend it very highly ,story line and well established Characters come to give an action packed , on the edge of your seat novel . Well worth the read for lovers of this type of fiction.
An excellent Sam Wick thriller with a great fast-paced storyline and outstanding realistic characters. This page turning story was packed with action and suspense. Very well written book that I highly recommend. Ready for the next adventure with Sam Wick in this outstanding series.
Another great read in the Sam Wick series of books by Chase Austin. Everything that you've come to expect in the series is in this book, so I don't want to give anything away in this review. Make sure to pick up your copy today!
Another gripping and enthralling story in the Wick series. The multiple threads and subplots keep you guessing throughout and the action is relentless and keeps you locked in until the end. Another teasing ending in preparation for the next book - can't wait.
This was a wonderfully written fast-paced thriller. The story is quite fast-paced with a host of different characters. An exciting thriller that doesn't disappoint! I received a free copy of the book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Wow very explosive !!Great action packed as Sam is caught up in a plot he doesn't want to be ,but they didn't leave him alone soo they paid the concequences ,left me breathless very well written as always and what has happened to Natasha ?Can't wait for the next book
