Bittersweet End

Rate this book
Harlem and Angela's love story started perfectly. It was a picture-perfect relationship. They were the power couple everyone wanted to be. Harlem is a retired WNBA player and Angela is a lawyer. They had the house, the cars, and the money. What could go wrong, right?

This is a story of a relationship gone completely wrong. Two people who loved each other, but end on a road of divorce. Before signing the papers, Harlem wants to talk face to face.

What would you do if your relationship was ending? What would you do if the only woman you loved didn't love you anymore?

I had no idea what to expect when I started this book, but I’m pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed it and didn’t want to put it down! My only complaint was that there were so many typos. But if you like fast paced and thrilling reads then pick this one up! Can’t wait to read Queenie next.

Harlem and Angela meet in college. They had a fairy tail love. Harlem A successful pro basketball player until life happened and she was injured. Never to play again. Then her wife cheats and Harlem holds her hostage. Because her love for her wife was so deep. She couldn’t take it, and divorce is NOT AN OPTION! This was an extra short read. It was worth every page.

Great read

This book pulled me into an amazing roller coaster ride that I didn’t want to get off at the end. I hope there will be a part two. J.E. Wolf has a great, God given talent. She will be a force to be reckoned with.

Wow

Th first few chapters gave me anxiety. Knocked out and kidnapped is something I’ve experienced. I couldn’t read pass ang being tied to a chair with duck tape over her mouth. I really wanted to like this book.

whoaaaaaaa

This book for as short as it is, is a wild story. Harlem legitamely lost her mind, Angela paid a price too big as a result. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with this short yet thrilling read. Cheers to the author.

DAMN

This but was crazy but shockingly good. I will see what this author is working with before I invest since this book was so short. Don’t get me wrong this book had everything and nothing because it left you with more questions than answers.

crazy story

What a crazy story. Not what I expected. Super dark without a happy ending. Totally worth the read if you like dark sapphic stories. I liked the writing style and storyline.

The plot about the unfold of a toxic relationship was interesting and had potential. The POV switch and the tense switch had me confused sometimes about who felt what and who did what.

Wow! I went into this book without knowing the plot, and I was so not prepared. The author really packed a ton into a short story. Emotional, shocking, crazy, and definitely caught my attention.

Oh My Word

Harlem, Harlem, Harlem. Smh. Therapy should have been an option. It's the hindsight and playing victim for me. A great read. Would recommend.

This story was short, but wild! It was easy to follow even with the jumps back and forth between past and present. The suspense was top knotch; everything spun out of control so fast and had me on the edge the whole time. It was fast paced, thrilling, got right to the point and jumped into the madness quickly. The only con I have is the lack of trigger warnings, which this book definitely needed. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

not a huge fan of the writing in this short story. i definitely wanted to support a black lesbian author though! i feel like the writing is choppy, which made it too hard to get into & to lose myself in the story. marking as dnf for now, but may come back & reread in the near future. i do believe the author has potential & i hope to be able to witness them grow as author & continue offering my support! 🙂

dnf - 12%
