Creed, An exiled Dragon known for his ruthless fighting, disturbing appearance, and muteness. The dragon Elders deemed him unworthy to live in the tribe, unworthy to have a mate. They declare the Moon Goddess would not grant one that was conceived of rape.

She is now a mere blood bag, but fate was on her side one night. She escaped the vampire kingdom only to find herself found by a beast who would now take her under his wings.
♥This book is in a series but can be read as a stand alone. It is also an epic novel of a slow-burn romance that ends up steamy and amazing adventure.♥
Caution, this book contains abuse, sexual content and violence. Not suited for anyone under 18.
I guessed Vera really enchanted me with the way she wrote the book. She wrote another lengthy book, and yet here I am reading it till the end; gulping it like there's no tomorrow. I read Book 1 and 2. Skipped #3 and read the new series instead. And BAM! reading this one. And I liked it, in all its mighty wholesomeness.
I have to say that Vera tried a different angle with this one. Instead of going with the usual archetype of alpha H and vulnerable h, she made vulnerable-inside-badass-outside H and strong-inside-vulnerable-outside h. It somehow worked. Both MCs had their own demon and by sharing it together they lessen it.
Our H was a hybrid dragon-shifter; the most powerful one too. Yet, he lived in exile because of his step-brother. One day he found a human female on the bank river; afraid, scared, and running for her life. He saved her and gave her a place to heal. The human girl was an orphan, who sort of got sold to become a blood bag for the rogue vampires. One particular Duke of Vampire fancied her and decided she should be his beloved. In the nick of time when he wanted to mark her, she ran; and so she met the H. Together they got to know each other and love bloomed. But would that be enough? Could they actually be a true mate? and what about the verdict that said that our H would never ever have a mate?
I was captivated. There was a bit of angst but not much drama from both MCs. I liked how the story was trying to show us the things that people, or shifters alike, would do/sacrifice in the name of love; whether it is love for spouses, friendship, and even family - especially family. Our H sacrificed so much for someone that he considered family not knowing that that very person took him for granted and even bully him in return. Yet, he found unconditional love elsewhere when he least expected it. A sweet story.
The story had the it all: secret of birth (one that seemed always be on Vera's book), a good sweet courtings, multiple storiesce story, adventure, new world-building, and some thrill and actions. The latter was just on a small portion but enough to give some badass-ness for the MCs. The plot was thick and descriptive especially in depicting the Bergarian world where all the shifter lives. Although it can be a read as standalone, I would suggest new readers read previous books to better understand the universe. Some crossover characters showed up from previous books.
Dual virgin No condoms Dragon-Griffon Shifter H, human h Multiple PoV, 1st person One true mate for the life universe Bit angsty especially with family intrigue Possible triggers: bullying, emotional abuse, rape (mentioned in passing) Medium-high heat steam Instant attraction though both spend a long time getting to know each other 20% action HEA, epilogue Overall score: 4.5 new world-building romance stars
Creed and Odessa. One of my favorite couples of all time. Everytime I think I have a favorite book and favorite couple Veronica comes along and makes me change my mind.
Cover Blurb: “Please, don’t eat me,” the soft voice begged. The voice was that of angels. Miniature and meek, quiet as one of the whisps that liked to toy with my braided hair. My heart almost stopped hearing its cry. Calling Razak back to my side, I praised him with a few clicks of my tongue and looked back over at the base of the trunk. Dirty fingers touched the outside of the rotting tree, and half of a dirty porcelain-skinned face peaked out. The saltiness I smelled was that of her dried tears stuck to her face. The dirt had been washed away in small trails where her tears were left in her wake. An amethyst eye looked me up and down, undoubtedly disturbed by my appearance. Creed, An exiled Dragon known for his ruthless fighting, disturbing appearance, and muteness. The dragon Elders deemed him unworthy to live in the tribe, unworthy to have a mate. They declare the Moon Goddess would not grant one that was conceived of r*pe. Odessa, a woman who just lost her father to cancer, her estranged mother, finds her hours later and whisks her away to a fantasy world to repay her debt to the Duke of Vermillion. I absolutely love this couple and their story! This is the second time I’m reading it and it certainly won’t be the last. There were so many twists that I never could have predicted and it made the entire story all the better! I also enjoyed the features of previous characters in the series as well. I’m always a sucker for series like these and this book has got to be my favorite!
Creed and Odessa are by far my favorite couple next to Hades and Ember! Creed is so thoughtful and sweet and Odessa is amazing!!!!!! The fact that he gets his family back, gets to avenge his mate, and gets to be a girl Dad, priceless!!!! Vee, you know I love your books! I can't wait for Lucifer to come out and whatever else you write!!!!!!! Love you woman!
Odd choice of adjectives, plot line inconsistencies, & underdeveloped characters. Whoever did the editing failed miserably. I'll pass on other books in the series.
Technically a dnf at 81% but I'm going to say this is a 'read' and pat myself on the back for getting through 81% of this 600-page hunk of a book.
I really enjoyed the beginning. Our fmc, Odessa was running away from her vampire master when she stumbled upon lonely and broke Creed. He brought her to his cave and nursed her back to health, all the while being afraid that Odessa would leave his lonely ass soon. Odessa wanted to stay longer but didn't want to be a burden, especially with a vampire stalking her whereabouts, so she decided to leave. Creed came back after hunting one of the vampires to find her gone and quickly went after her. They cleared their miscommunication and started living with each other again.
My main problem with this book is that there are just so many damn plot points. We have Odessa, who had a human mom who sold Odessa to the vampires so she can be a witch of a random coven. And Odessa's dad, who turned out to have a dragon mate on his own, which he found out after a random trip to Ireland and decided to believe it and waited until his death to meet his dragon mate.
Then we have Creed's problem with his dragon clan. Because dragon magic was dying, the elders in the tribe wanted to create strong babies from strong dragon parents, so they'd sprinkle memory-wiping powder like they're tinkerbell to basically everyone in the tribe and have them on black magic that's strengthened with dragon blood magic. They claimed that Creed was born from rape but really, his mom found her mate, a griffin, and they got pregnant. The elders didn't want an ultra strong griffin tainting their bloodline for some reason even though they're struggling (those racist bastards) and decided to wipe his mom's memories. They used their OP black magic to fake a mate bond between the mom and another strong dragon and they had another baby, Adam. Adam was always super jealous of Creed, so much that he destroyed Adam's vocal cords so he'd struggle to talk and got him exiled from the tribe after their parents' death. Adam would come around once and then to help though because he promised his mom that he would.
We were introduced to Adam's wife, who was really close to Creed. She was also manipulated and forced into a mate bond with Adam, while her actual mate was her bodyguard. They later got rid of the black magic and they mated with each other. We got their sex scene for some reason but sure, ok it was sweet to read.
Odessa also became good friends with elves randomly and had Creed prove to them that his reputation wasn't accurate to who he was. Blablabla, fightfightfight, Creed got black magic removed, Odessa and Creed mated each other. She became a dragon as a result and the author interestingly had her dragon look like Creed's mother's dragon. Freud would def have something to say about that. Oh and the mating suddenly healed Creed's vocal cord and scars.
Creed discovered his parents' story, flew out to confront Adam, and met his father on the way. Because his mom died, the memory spell was lifted from the griffin. His dad went to Adam first and was told Creed killed his mom, but it was Adam. Then Creed and his dad went to Adam's tribe again to fight. Before, Odessa was scared that Creed would forget her and he said he wouldn't, but of course, tinkerbell was at it again and Creed got a sprinkling. Fightfightfight, Adam was dead, Creed forgot but his heart didn't so he just accepted everything Odessa told him as facts with no disagreements. Apparently, they could get rid of black magic but not the effects of tinkerbell? That's kinda bull. Then they got married, two goddesses visited them, and one of them borrowed Odessa's powers to bring back Creed's mom from the dead. Then we got a sex scene between Creed's mom and dad??? Why???
Then there's word that vampires surrounded them. And that's what happened by the 81% mark. And we still haven't finished Odessa's witch of a mom plot point.
Overall, it really reads like a Wattpad story as to how the plot never ends and just keeps on going forever. And I hate the memory powder and double black magic plot device, it's so ugh.

Creed is a dragon exiled from his tribe by his stepbrother. His brother claimed that Creed tried fighting him for the position of Alpha (which resulted in severe injuries that permanently destroyed Creed's vocal chords), told the tribe that he was the reason their parents died, and other lies. He had been bullied and put down his whole life and was supposedly a product of a r@pe that his mother had gone through before meeting her mate. Therefore, he was told he'd never have a mate of his own.
Odessa escaped being a "food sourse" for vampires after being sold by her mother to pay off a debt. After running for about two days, she rested inside a tree before being found by a strange dog-cat type animal and a tall viking like man - Creed. Something drew him to her, and he took her in, caring for her and nursing her back to health. He was always taught he couldn't have a mate, but he couldn't help but wonder if somehow she could be his.
The vampire who Odessa escaped from is obsessed with her and ruthlessly searches the realm for her. Creed's brother wants to get rid of Creed for good. Both of these enemies and the unbalance of the realm lead to trouble for the couple, who just want to live in quiet peace. Their adventures lead them to make many new friends, strengthen their relationship, gain power, and open their eyes to so much.
The only reason I removed a star is due to editing issues, and a contradiction at one point in the story, though the latter wasn't a huge deal.
This is a beautiful story about love, friendship, strength, faith, and even more love. It's a lengthy book, but I absolutely enjoyed it!!
I love this book. I was fascinated and captivated from the start as this story began at a run- literally- and I was hooked. Great world building and wonderful characters. I absolutely loved Creed and Odessa and the dynamic between them. And the way they seemed to balance each other out. This book also has a favorite trope of mine- where the male is treated or believes himself unworthy of love and acceptance due to scars, physical attributes, or things beyond his control. Creed was born of a rape and the elders of his tribe declared that he should have been killed at birth and would never have or be worthy of a mate. He also has scars and doesn't speak. I loved him from his first chapter and was cheering for their happy ending. This was the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be reading more. 5 stars.
"The Exiled Dragon" is the fourth book in the Under the Moon series and it is amazing! I couldn't put it down, as each chapter was as fascinating as the one before. Vera Foxx threaded a supernatural story that had everything...intrigue, murder, dark magic, fated mates, obsession, and love.
The main characters, an outcast dragon named Creed and Odessa, a human who was given to a dark vampire by her mother to be his 'blood bag'. Odessa was able to escape after several months and was found hiding by Creed. I won't give any spoilers because their relationship development was so interesting.
As the supernatural world around them becomes more dangerous, they must learn to embrace their powers, trust the loyal ones around them, and forge a new life for themselves and the others who have suffered under the spells of dark magic.
I'm only on chapter 20 out of the 76-chapter book (!!) but I'm really enjoying it so far. I've never read anything by this author before, but the ♥cover♥ (the tail!) and blurb of this book caught my eye and intrigued me.
Mute, exiled and scarred MMC and seemingly meek and fragile FMC who has been through a terrifying ordeal find each other and heal, not to mention a cute but predatory animal sidekick. I think some vague references have been made to the previous books in the series, so I will check those out as well. It hasn't significantly impacted my enjoyment of the book, but I may be missing some world building elements that were hashed out in the previous books.
Vera Foxx still is one of the most prolific authors in the genre of supernatural love stories. I call them love stories instead of romance novels as the love between mates surpasses mere romance! The Exiled Dragon, Book #4 of the Under the Moon series takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster of adventure. Fighting and overcoming the evils of dark magic, prejudices, freeing those trapped in slavery and fear, gives way to a new dawn ... a new understanding of life (and new life itself)! Finding love in the midst and during the aftermath of war, in and of itself is truly amazing. Out of the ashes love still stands!
I read this book years ago in one of those pay per chapter apps. I remembered enjoying it and when I found it on kindle I thought I would see if the author had updated it, she hadn’t. It still needs editing.
Odessa is a human who is sold by her mother to a vampire in an alternate realm to pay off debts. She eventually escapes and meets Creed, a cursed dragon who can’t talk and is a loner. They fall in love and break the black magic that he is under.
I didn’t know it was part of a series, the epilogue skips forward as to not spoil the ongoing story lines. A bit smutty but you have to endure lines like ‘he entered my cave’ and ‘he loves the taste of her flower’
3 stars. Interesting story with world building & twisting plot. So many characters introduced as well. What I didn't like: the MC use of "heckers" and "thingy" were extremely juvenile. Also the book was just sooooo long. I understand this was potentially for world building but I ended up skipping forward quite a bit to get it over. What I did like: the characters were robust and the spice was way decent! While the whole war between factions kind of bored me the story itself was ok. Overall 50/50 Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Dragons 👍🏻
Okay, why do I have a feeling the Author has 👻 writers cause why are all the books in this series, on varying levels of writings and styles 💀😭 anyway when they said is was a slow burn, it was a lieeereee. It was just really long cause there was actually a plot. The dad gave me an aneurysm trynna read what he was saying in Scottish. Like babes I dont know what your saying but vibes. Is it bad I kinda liked the bad guy 💀 I was kinda sad when he died. over all ver cute ❤️

Loved how sweet and innocent Creed the male lead is and how both the characters fall in love with each other! Both never expected love and there's an innocence and beauty in their discovering all their firsts together. This is the second book I've read by Vera and I know I'm doing them out of order but love the world she has created and the amazing characters! Everyone should wish for their male to be like those from Vera's world!
What attracted me to the book was the dragon and the human aspect. What attracted me also was a wounded male who lost his voice grossly disfigured and yet stood by his conscience and integrity - their love story was beautiful - and then I decided to read from the beginning of the series - I recommend it to all who love sweeping sagas but it can be read on its own though
I thought it couldn’t get any better. But with every single book it just does! I am blown away! I loved this book! I don’t even know how to explain how much I loved this book. Odessa was incredible! Creed has been in my heart since he was introduced last book. Just wow! Way to knock it out of the park!
I love Vera Foxx and her romance novels. They are just what I'm looking for when I look for spicy with a great story line. I love how you see characters return from her previous books but they never take away from the characters she's currently writing about. I'm grateful she's got so many in her series! I can't wait to keep reading.
Her writing is amazing! From the start you immediately get taken to a world and circumstances that instantly gets you hooked. The passion, the love, the action all comes together to make for happy endings, even with the pain of loss. I can't wait to see what else happens!
Odessa is such an amazing character! She is so strong and has an absolute heart of gold. She stays so calm under pressure but still has a soft side and never lets pain take her spark away. Creed is great too, he is compassionate even though life gives him so many reasons not to be. They are a beautiful couple and mesh so well together it’s adorable!
This book needs some series editing. And honestly I’m not really a stickler for mistakes but when every other page has obvious errors then it becomes a bit much. The whole story is very juvenile and the FMC acts like a child the whole time. It’s weird
Absolutely love Creed and Odessa!! My favorite book by Vera Foxx so far ( and I’ve loved them all!!) Characters are so amazing! The story is fantastic! Hooks you in right away.
It started as a slow burn but really got going and couldn't put it down for long. Loved the ending and seeing them happy and knowing the characters were given happy endings as well was nice. Can't wait for the next book!
This is the book I’ve been waiting for this whole series! I kept reading th e previous ones and was so disappointed BUT this one got it right! No I necessary kidnapping! No random character introductions. Just an intricate story that was amazing! Bravo!
This book is just great honestly. Proving that love knows no bounds. Instead of the physical book I read it on my phone using this app. Here’s the link if you want to try: https://readink.onelink.me/heGH/k8mnybjn
Creed is exciled from his kind for a fault not his own. Odessa is taken to pay a debt her mother had, bevoming a blood bag for vampires but escaping one demon she finds herself alone unt Creed, can he kept her safe. Well written, engaging fast paced but a long read that keeps you on your toes!.
